Hands down, so grateful we stopped here along the way! We were passing through 95 and took the leap to stop here. The food was absolutely amazing. Could not decide what to get, so we ordered a bunch. Our waitress was amazing. It was slammed packed when we arrived. They were prompt and friendly! Everything on the menu is delicious and reasonable in price for the portions. Please stop here if your anything like us passing by! Thank you for having the FordFrogginFamily!
Super disappointed to wait 30+ mins with barely any acknowledgement. I went for the first time today after hearing great community reviews. Hostesses were lovely and told me to sit at a high top or low top wherever I felt most comfortable. I sat at a high top right in front of them and was passed by many, many times by servers who didn't acknowledge me. Over 15 mins to get a glass of sweet tea and not one person stopped to take my order or reassure me that a server was coming. I worked in the service industry in just about every capacity and was always taught to cover for my fellow servers and greet guests in a timely manner. The food looked and smelled delicious, but after watching numerous groups who entered after me being greeted and receiving their food while I was not acknowledged except a drink order I decided to find better service elsewhere and be waited on in a timely fashion. Overall a really disappointing experience and an awful first impression. I understand rushes, however my opinion is someone should have acknowledged my presence other than bringing a menu and silverware. I really wish I could say I was the only one with issues but I also overheard people at the table below me complaining they had to leave to attend a meeting and needed their order to go because of extended wait times. Had anyone acknowledged my wait time or checked in I would have been fine. But it seemed like bare minimum acknowledgement and I'm not sure if this is because single patrons tend to be less revenue or what the issue was.
Super accommodating, quick service and very friendly staff. We were seated outside immediately when we got there even with a large party of 8 and they seemed pretty busy. We LOVED the fried green tomatoes (we are traveling and I’m currently obsessed and want them to come up to Philly please!). My bother in law enjoyed his burgers and OMG, the sweet potato fries with caramel sauce - get them and thank me later. We stopped here on the way to Myrtle beach and literally are planning our trip next year and hoping to stop over in Rocky Mount just to stop here again

This place was awesome. The server was amazingly friendly and everyone was really welcoming. It is rare for the chef to walk around tables to ask for feedback. Disappointed they were out of the pulled pork sandwich and brisket is kind of expensive for the amount that you get but the sides were awesome. They also offer flights which is great! We will definitely be back!
We stopped in Rocky Mount, NC at The Prime Smokehouse for lunch. As an accomplished cook, I can say that the food was very tasty! The fried green tomatoes were good as well as served hot and crisp! YEAH!!! I would recommend that the collards be cooked with more smoked meat, some hot sauce and black pepper and less liquid. They also should be served in a separate dish as they made the mac & cheese and meat too wet. The mac & cheese was quite tasty. Most of the time when mac & cheese is ordered out it is dry and tasteless. The baked beans were flavorful and exceptional when some of the pulled pork was stirred into them. The pulled pork and ribs were also good. The ginger orange sweet potatoes were also on point. The chicken wings were fall off the bone, smoky, and excellent! The sweet potato pie had a homemade crust and was good but I would suggest more cinnamon and less nutmeg. The food could have been served hotter as well as it was served lukewarm. The atmosphere is quite nice and food portions are plentiful. I would definitely come back again.
Okay, this place literally from the time I got out of the truck to leaving, my mother and I felt welcomed. We were greeted with that southern love from the beautiful host and serve by the sweet and fast bartender. The food was AHMAZING! Rib and Chicken was falling off the bone good. It was definitely worth the 2 hour drive. I will be visiting more.

Angel and the staff were wonderful. It was our first time there and they explained how it all worked. I got a one meat combo and could not finish it. Eggs, home fries, biscuit, gravy, and a pile of bacon. It was unbelievable. Multiple staff including our waitress Angel made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be coming back.
Only 4 minutes off Highway 95! Classic country down home cooking. All that good food on the plate plus banana pudding to go for $10.66?! Get outta here. The pork chop in gravy didn’t even need a knife it was so tender. Luka beans and green beans perfectly seasoned and not overly salty. The handmade cheddar biscuit was thick, fluffy, and the size of a hand. For first timers, you can order things like hamburgers off a menu if you just sit down, but that’s not the experience you want. As you enter, you’ll see the line to the right down the chute. Choose either your meat then two sides and bread, or ask for a veggie plate. They’ll get you silverware and a drink once you sit down. When you get ready to leave, ask for a ticket and pay at the front. Hope to come back to try breakfast! Check out Smith’s Red and White next door when you leave for a unique grocery experience to take some goodies back on the road.
Great find when I was looking family style restaurant for breakfast. The food was excellent as was the service. Our sever, Ms Angel, ran out into the parking lot to give me Snoopy, who I had left on the table. I would been really bummed out of I would have lost my riding buddy!

The food was pretty bad, just to get it out the way. I ordered the hot dog combo with fries, chili, slaw….the works. The bread and dog itself had an aftertaste I could only liken to a wet sock sweetened with jam. Not sure if it was the slaw or the dog but I assure you, the cocktail of flavors I tasted went towards sweet sock every time. Fries were good, standard fries. Drink was standard, ordered a Long Island. D was a sweetheart, very accommodating. A shame there’s not much to do. Wouldn’t mind a pool table or even some darts to pass the time. Olympics were playing so they do at least have things to watch.
I was looking for a place to relax and also enjoy some food. I’m glad that I came! It is in downtown Rocky Mount, nice dining seating area, large bar area and an outside area. There was also a nice DJ that night. I ended up getting the two piece fried trout with fries and a blue motorcycle. The seasoning on the fish was perfect, hush puppies were delicious and the drink was strong! I met Moe and he was friendly, attentive and accommodating. The floor manager and hostess were amazing as well. I will definitely go back.
First time visiting this restaurant for lunch and was pleasantly surprised at the experience had there. The restaurant was clean and well decorated with a pleasant motif. Our waitress took the time and explained the menu choices and the best sellers etc. I had the Philly cheese steak and a side of delicious fried okra, and my wife had the buffalo wings, both dishes were piping hot and excellent in flavor and presentation. Our waitress couldn't have been nicer and more efficient. Mo's has a full bar with tasty cocktails and outside seating. Total cost of lunch was $28 dollars and well worth it. We'll certainly be coming back for more herein the future. Maybe catch some live music or a Thurs night NFL game they advertise specials for. Great restaurant with a great vibe.

I haven't had a juicy burger in a long time and let me tell you…. This burger was everything the baby and I needed. Peep the bacon and guacamole!!! Finger licking is good!! Thick cut fries just how I like em and the Mac n cheese creamy to my liking ❤️ The waitress was very polite and professional and made sure I had everything I needed Chef: William M Gorham is an amazing cook
I had the shrimp and grits based on a friends recommendation and it was very good! Would recommend. I did takeout so cannot speak on atmosphere but it is lovely inside.
So to be honest I really wanted to do 4.5 on service and atmosphere so we went with a split! Food: we had the pork belly and wings for apps. Get the Mambo if you like sweet not spicy, we like spice so we will try Buffalo next time. For dinner we got the Smoked Brisket Sandwich and the Wagyu Burger- each with home cut fries...which were awesome!! The brisket was good, slaw was excellent with it. The burger was cooked nicely (med rare for me), a preformed patty but was nice and juicy. All the fixings on the Taco Burger worked well with it! We left nothing on our plates and everything seemed to be done with care and thoughtfulness. The only slight negatives were that when we first entered both staff were on their phones and we stood a good minute before being noticed. However we were one of the first customers in the location for dinner house and after that the service was excellent and the food arrived promptly. We had draft beers with our meal and the pricing was great for all that we ordered. For the atmosphere...the decor and vibe is fantastic! Casual but a great date night option! The only comment here is it was SO quiet- no soft background music, not any sound from one of the TVs, it was a little jarring coming in. However once others came in it was not as noticeable. Overall, this is a great gem in downtown Rocky Mount. We will absolutely recommend it and will be back as well!

Fantastic local restaurant. We were in town for 7 nights and ate here 4 nights. The porkchop is the bomb. Good service. Chef came out to talk to us. Got the beat salad 2 nights for my lunch the next day (fantastic). Absolutely give this place a try.
Food is modern fare. If you get the grilled octopus starter, you really don’t need a main course. The octopus is a great option if you’re avoiding grains. The smoked turkey burger was decadent for a burger. The buttered noodles were an automatic hit with the little one and the partner was happy with the gargantuan brisket burger. Even better was the staff and atmosphere. They were welcoming and intuitive. The bathroom and dining area were incredibly clean. For relaxed competent experience, go here. It’s worth diverting.
I'm working in rocky Mount temporarily and have literally been here 6 times in the last 2 months. Coming from Houston ( a food town) , I'm thoroughly impressed. A small menu, but well thought out. I'm addicted to their beet salad- they roast they're own beets! Outstanding cocktails with a wide selection of bourbon, they have the proper big ice for old fashioneds. Will miss this place!

They have the best fried wings in town. Not the safest neighborhood and the store next door always has goons standing infront of it but being from bk it made me feel right at home. Honey glazed wings are amazing aswell
Very good food, mostly cooked made to order. I've been there 3 times and I can sat it's been consistent to the point that I'm comfortable trying new things from the menu. I will say that the shrimp fried rice wasn't good at all, its tasteless and it isn't truly fried.
Found this place while staying at a local hotel overnight near the I-95 exit. I wanted some fried chicken, and this place came up on a Google maps search. The food was excellent. The chicken was crispy and juicy. We got an order of jumbo shrimps which were great too. Even the fries that came with the shrimp were good. Also got a side of fried rice and a couple of egg rolls. All good. The place is for takeout only, and is located in a bit of a sketchy strip mall. But the service was very prompt and friendly. It was a good stop.

This place is very small but the food is so good that when I arrived it was packed and while I waited, more customers had come by. There is a drive through and plenty of space to park. The staff is very courteous and friendly. I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak hoagie with Fries and a large mountain dew. The price came out to about $12.78 and it was absolutely delicious! Some restaurants don't really toast their hoagie all that much or not enough so you end up tasting a lot of bread but here at JJ's they toast their bread to perfection leaving you with that perfect ratio of extra meat to bread and the bread is buttered with a crisp to it (not crunchy). Also the fries it came with were fried perfect. Fresh gold and crispy. It was all very tasty and I believe worth the amount they charge. The nearest burger joint is Carl Jr. which is a block away and JJ's gottem beat by a landslide on both quality and price. I definitely recommend JJ's!
The food here reminds me of my mother cooking who is no longer here. There is no long wait time they get you in and out as if they were a fast food restaurant. You have the option to dine in if you don’t mind eating outside. You order at the drive thru windows, inside or even call in an order. They have daily special every day. Something to fit everyone budget. Everything on the menu is delicious.Hurry up go they close at 2pm I believe
When one enters into J&J’s Kitchen, they are greeted by the friendliness and warm smiles of the employees. They are ready to offer their suggestions to first time and returning customers. During my first visit, I ordered two servings of French Toast Sticks with turkey sausage. The appearance of my meal and the aroma it gave made me want to devour it immediately, but I had to wait until arriving at home for the restaurant does not provide tables. My meal was very enjoyable; I will be back.

The food was great... But my mom felt everything tasted the "same"... Only soy sauce/ salt........ She had the salmon. Next time she says she'll ask the cook to NOT douse her salmon with soy sauce. Salmon has it's own wonderful taste naturally. Always entertaining, nonetheless. Have your cash ready to tip the chef before he leaves your station!
Im from Pennsylvania, visiting my friends’. The food was delicious and the service was excellent!! When I say they serve you your money worth.. I have never had so much food like that. We had a time and they laughed with us and embraced us!! Thank you. I shall return.
This is one of Rocky Mounts "nice" restaurants. We occasionally come her for special occasions as it can become quite pricy. They do however serve some of the best fried rice I have ever had. They have a good sushi menu, and a vast bar selection with probably 50 mixed drinks. Expect to pay 20-30 for entrées unless you split with someone. However, you should have a large take out box with leftovers by the time you are finished. It usually provides lunch, and even dinner the next day. Surprisingly the rice heats up well too. The hibachi chefs are decent however, I have had better "performances" elsewhere. If you have someone in your party that has a birthday or a special day, they are pretty good about asking, and doing something special for them.

We Googled “Mexican food” as we were traveling and El Mariachi came up with good reviews and close to our hotel, so we came over. Totally worth a visit - the food is EXCELLENT! Huge portions and fresh and delicious! Well done!
This is my VERY favorite Mexican food restaurant! The rice is amazing! It’s not the typical “orange” colored rice - it’s fluffy and tasty! The beans are served in a cute little star shaped taco shell and the chimichangas are delicious! Every single thing we have tried is amazing.
El Mariachi is a wonderfully themed train car restaurant with authentic Mexican style food. I had the Texas Quesadilla, which was delicious, but a lot of food. It is worth mentioning that the menu at this place is nearly identical to that of El Tapatio.

I wish we would’ve found this restaurant sooner! Today was our first visit but it won’t be our last. Jose C was our server and was a kind and happy young man. The ambiance was great and the margaritas even better :D We won’t eat anywhere else when passing through Rocky Mount. Love the fireplace! 10/10 recommend.
Honestly, it's one of the best Mexican Restaurants that I've ever been to. Food is top notch, service is great. Never disappointed the tines I've been here.
I got the pork street tacos with beans and rice. Food was great and the drinks were great also

Their new location is awesome and feeds great energy. 12 individuals, including myself, came in and had a fantastic meal. They handled the tables well and for a good number never had proper Jamaican food. I had the jerk chicken and it was falling off the bone good. I'm not even personally a strong cabbage or rice and beans fan and I couldn't stay away from eating it. This is a great place and I will come back.
I normally wouldn’t eat oxtails. But my husband does. So last night I got him a plate. Wanted to taste and I am definitely getting my own today. Perfection!!!!
Pictured is the “Everyting Me Waa Try Sample Plate” and it was all excellent. I got the mac and cheese, plantains, and callaloo as my sides. I especially likes the brown stew chicken, curry goat, and callaloo. The mac and cheese was also some of the best I’ve ever had. The jerk chicken was advertised as spicy but was very mild, although I still loved the flavor. Everything was so tender and juicy. My only complaints are that the bass is very loud inside the restaurant (it was only 2:30 PM) and there are no printed menus to read. The TV screen menu is pretty inconvenient as there were 6 menu slides and an events slide that rotated through slowly.

Old school dinner feel with fast service and good food. We were greeted at the door and able to self seat at a table. It was a good meal and I can recommend the cheese steak sandwich. 5star!
I tried it because I seen the in and out traffic but I now know why the prices of the of the food are low. Cheap eat quality of food not there order was prepared wrong they made it right the customer service was good would I come here again? No
My coworker told me about this place and I wanted to try it for myself. I placed an order online which was pretty easy to do. Once I got my food and took a bite, there was a piece of plastic in my cheesesteak. I tried calling but they’re closed. I’m very disappointed.

Everything about this place was a plus. It was my first time going but definitely not my last. The food was not only good, but the wait time was minimal. The waiter was prompt, kind and not overbearing...I think her name was Grace, she provided very good service...
Great find, amazing service, Dani was fabulous. Pretzel bites were great, dry and not covered in oil or butter, they disappeared before I thought to take a picture. Onion rings were fresh, lightly battered and crispy. Southwestern salad was huge, Chipotle ranch dressing was delicious. Kids got burgers and waffle fries.
The burger here was lukewarm and the fries had way too much salt on them. I would say that burger was definitely not worth the $16. Table and chairs are dirty and the bathroom was filthy as well. I would not come back due to sanitation deficiency.
