Really nice and lovely Italian fare that is as authentic as it is and proudly so!. so much so that a whole bunch of things we usually order were clearly not here 'coz it ain't original really!. the quality of the food, the ingredients used, the ambience, the flavors all of them come together perfectly to build an amazing experience here! Lovely people who take you through things and food that arrives amazingly quickly! would definitely recommend this place!
Delicious pizza and best cotton candy gelato I've ever had! Loved the vibe of the restaurant, very chill and perfect for hanging out with friends! Staff were friendly too. My little brother is normally super picky about his food, but their special pizza of the day (blue cheese and pepperoni?) was so good he ate it all! I also liked their soup of the day, pototo with croutons on top drizzled with something yummy Personally, it's a little out of my budget, but I'd definitely recommend coming here to try it out!
Wonderful authentic Italian eatery, with friendly staff and great food - now serving dinner and lunch/brunch. Fantastic pizza and pasta, all made fresh in house. Very family and kid friendly - space available for booking cooking classes up to a party of 8. The best Italian food in town.

We came on a Tuesday for dinner. The whole restaurant was pretty packed by 6pm. Mostly local people who live around here. Very cute mom and pop place The servers were fast and knew what they were doing. They had servers just for grating cheese and pepper and taking away plates and others just for taking your order Carpaccio (21) - we enjoyed the carpaccio. Not overly done with cheese or greens. Not too chewy either Prawns appetizer (22) - cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Could do with a little more vegetable Linguine vongole (26) - tasted like the sea. Noodles could have been less cooked but then again it depends on your audience. The clams tasted fresh and were sweet. Seafood pasta of the day (26)- had squid in it. Also tasted like the sea (in a good way). Pasta was the same as the one above except the toppings were different Arugula pizza (24) and Primavera pizza (24) - the pizza dough is obviously the same on both but both were delicious. Well cooked and chewy. The toppings were different. I preferred the meat one more just because I love proscuitto. Well balanced. Would recommend the pizza over the pasta Tiramisu (12.50) - pretty standard. Not overly sweet. Generous portion for the price. Wouldn't order it again Overall I thought the food was not bad and the service was pretty good. The seafood pasta flavours were something you can't make at home. The pizza was also good. This is a cute neighborhood joint. The prices are also good
Great atmosphere, lots of locals. Excellent service from the two waitresses. Food was authentic, felt like we were back in Europe. The menu had plenty of options that were impossible to choose from - just a lovely experience from start to finish! Thank you!
What an amazing experience! We ordered the fettuccine fungi and the clam linguine, both are amazing. Sauces and the texture of the pasta are perfect! If you are a fan of garlic you must love their pasta. Staffs are so kind and the atmosphere is warm. Can’t wait to come back again!

I love going to Trolls for their amazing brunch. Every family occasion or after every long hike, we plan to go there. Thats my special treat to spend quality time with my loved ones. The atmosphere is really cozy and welcoming, perfect for hanging out with friends or just enjoying a relaxed meal. They recently adjusted their prices, but the quality of the food is still satisfying . Their famous Fisher Man Breakfast is a must-try it comes with a complete breakfast along with tasty french toast. Its a great choice for starting your day right. The staff is friendly and make sure you have everything you need. Whether you're in the mood for a classic breakfast or something a bit fancier, this place has it all. Overall, Trolls is my favorite brunch place worth driving all the way from Vancouver to Horseshoe Bay. Good food, nice atmosphere, and great service make it a five-star experience. Definitely check it out!
Fantastic genuine family-style restaurant! We stopped for lunch while waiting for our ferry to Nanaimo. The staff were wonderful, and there were plenty of food options. The menu even included directions to the ferry terminal, which is helpful since Google Maps can be a bit confusing here. A great little find!
We had a lovely dinner last night at Troll's. My white sangria was perfection and I enjoyed my huge garden salad and crab cakes. Hubs said his salmon salad was yummy as well. The staff is super friendly. Highly recommend.

Blown away by the food and service. I’ve lived in West Van for the majority of my life and today was my first time. And I will be back again and again. Calamari fritti was fresh, light and airy and came pretty quickly. The focaccia was so soft and chewy and supple, we ended up ordering a second serving (it’s small, only 4 slices, so we didn’t feel too guilty). Pasta was fresh (we ordered the veal meatballs and the sauce had bone marrow in it and the shaved tenderloin pasta dish) and offerings were unique to what were typically used to at an Italian restaurant. Service was top notch. Tables cloths and cloth napkins kind of place — anyone under age 49 there I’d consider to be young :) Will be back!
The dishes we ordered were blowing minds away. For the starters, the mussels and raw beef were so tender and juicy. For entrees, we ordered lamb, cod, pasta that are all well cooked and delicious. We ordered pudding for dessert which is also outstanding. The service was perfect! This one is such a gem in West Van. We often go to Beach House. To be honest, the dishes here are beyond my imagination.
Vibes: - A lot of seniors in the restaurant - good service: got our appetizer order wrong but nicely corrected it after serving the wrong dish Food: Appetizer was insanely salty, not very flavorful aside from salt. We asked our server to tell chef to keep the pastas low sodium, but my boar meat sauce pasta was still very salty; besides sour and salty, the flavor profile is extremely bland and flat. Several strands were completely stuck together. Also chewed on sand or something (probably the spinach base…) The black cod tagliatini was nice and flavorful though - would recommend. The chicken/sausage orecchiette relied much on the sausage pieces. Looks like one of the nicer restaurants in West Van, but overall would not recommend at least the dishes I got (veal meatballs and boar meat sauce tagliatelle). I HAD A WONDERFUL TIME WITH THE PEOPLE I WENT WITH THO! ❤️

Cozy, warm and loving restaurant - a true gem hidden in west Vancouver. Went there for a birthday dinner - to my surprise they made a set menu for the birthday girl! Nice touch in my opinion, it’s the details that counts :) Food was amazing. I recommend trying their Veal and lobster bisque. I have only seen restaurant serving veal downtown, so it was a pleasant find in West Van. It was extremely tender and well prepared, nice companion to a bottle of wine. Lastly, my compliments to the chef for keeping up with nice quality food for a group of 15!
I’m so thrilled to have discovered this hidden gem of a French restaurant! From the escargot to the scallop dishes, everything was absolutely delicious, and the desserts were fantastic too! It’s truly a hidden treasure, and I hope more people come and experience it. I’ll definitely be coming back next time!
Tldr - the lamb is absolutely excellent, melts in your mouth. Recommend focusing on the main course, apps (at least lobster bisque and escargot) are skippable. Chez Michel got a chic vibe and doesn't feel pretentious. This resto has a traditional style of French cuisine and it certainly takes you to another setting for this dining experience. Kelly is our waitress and she was considerate in bringing in the right items to complement our dishes (i.e. bringing in bread when we had extra lobster bisque left). We ordered the éscargot and lobster bisque for apps, both were good but not amazing. For mains, we got the poulet de vent and the lamb/beef special. The former dish had a puffy pastry that went extremely well with the chicken, and the lamb melted in our mouths. Will definitely recommend those looking for traditional French food visit this place if you're here for something else. But if you won't be in the area, don't need to get out of your way.

We were there for early dinner for the first time. Tried different foods, drink and everything was good. Servers are nice and friendly. Design of the place is nice and my son for the first time tried seaweed, egg rolls, Gyoza… it is kids friendly and I would highly recommend them.
Found a nice Japanese restaurant that has good fo od and nice service. The chairs were a little bit wobbly. I had the Asari Miso soup , Nigiri Tobiko, Sunset Roll and the Salmon box .when I wanted more Tobiko they brang it out really fast. Super friendly servers. I will visit here again for sure!
Relatively expensive for the potions but the taste and freshness makes it worthwhile. The high hairs weren't that clean and the service was just ok. As a vegetarian I highly recommend the veggie caterpillar roll, the avocado roll and the yam roll. I wasn't a huge fan of the other vegetarian special rolls; one had okra (which I wouldn't ever want in a sushi roll), the other had no cooked rice and tasted rather bland like a salad without dressing.

It's been a while since we've been here but glad we went back. Very friendly staff and excellent service. Great beer selection. The pepperoni pizza was excellent as were the other dishes people had. We'll definitely go back and it's an alternative to some of the others in the area on occasion.
Good stop for a menu with a variety of food options. Kind service. - Cocktails: Well made. The spicy margaritas were delicious. - Brussels sprouts: crispy with parmesan and the dip was good as well. - Calamari: pretty small peices with way too many jalapenos. Was not the best. - Fish tacos: Fresh. The pickled onions were a great accent to the fish.
Pizza !! The whole family went for the amazing pizzas, which did not disappoint! Thin crust which had a good chew on the end plus each were loaded with toppings including quality cheese. There is a large beer selection as well as cocktail, in which I enjoyed both a Caesar plus a few pilsners. THE NOTORIOUS pizza was heavily topped with intense meats including loads of bacon! Great family meal, lots of sports up on the TVs, excellent service!

Good food! Calamari is awesome and highly recommended. The oyster burger is okay. Oyster is very tasty but small. New England Seafood Chowder is very delicious. Price wise is a bit over price for the amount of food. service bit slow. The atmosphere is a bit dark. I was seated on the back close to the garden/parking.
Quaint little place that was full and had great atmosphere. Excellent menu with mix of Korean and Ocean/BC Coast favorites. We had the New England seafood chowder and Cod fish and chips, it was Friday after all! Both very tasty and Cod was excellent with light batter and not oily. Recommend a stop if visiting or waiting for a ferry. Best of all, they are dog friendly on back patio!
Nice comfy place. I liked the menu: different and delicious. We arrived early before 6pm on a Saturday. A nice walk at the Pier is a must!

The staff is always welcoming and attentive, ensuring that every customer feels valued. If you're in North Vancouver, do yourself a favor and try Mani Burger. You won't be disappointed!
**This place put an end to my 14 years of love in Five Guys** The owner refused tips by skipping it on the pay machine (he deserved at least 10% considering the price). When I got the burger, it was way bigger than the Five Guys double (and lower priced). The burger tasted fantastic with fresh ingredients in it, and the garlic and cajun fries were great even without ketchup or any other sauce. At the end I was sad because I was moving out of the province in several days.
Mani Restaurant is one of the best places you can find in West Vancouver. It has a cozy and friendly atmosphere, and the food is amazing and delicious. We ordered the Special Burger, a classic Cheeseburger, and the Mani Burger—all of them were excellent. We also had fries, which were super tasty. Definitely give them a try! Their burgers are juicy and delicious without any greasy smell, and everything was just perfect.

The Beach House Restaurant is an absolute gem! The food was flawless every dish, from the fresh and flavorful salads to the perfectly prepared entrees, was a delight. The stylish decor and classy vibe made the experience even more special. What truly sets this place apart is the amazing view it is breathtaking and adds so much to the ambiance. Dining here feels like a treat for all the senses. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a perfect meal with an unforgettable setting!
After a lovely visit to Horseshoe Bay, we decided to try the beach house restaurant around 9 PM on a busy weekend. The atmosphere was lively yet inviting, and the service was impeccable. Our large group sampled various dishes, each bursting with flavor and creativity. The clientele leaned older, adding a charming sophistication. In short, the beach house resturant is a must-visit for an exceptional dining experience!
It is a beautiful restaurant with great view of the ocean. I was looking forward to be here then quite disappointed with overall experiences. The ambiance and food were great yet the services were rather disappointing. The wait time for food and hostess was both long although there are many staffs on the floor and quite available tables. There are a lot of service staffs who are talking to each other. As a result very hard to get attention of the service team.

I had the pleasure of enjoying a breakfast sandwich at Isetta Cafe Bistro, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. The sandwich was perfectly balanced, with incredibly fresh ingredients. The bacon was crispy, adding just the right amount of savory crunch to every bite. The greens were vibrant and fresh, complementing the rich flavors beautifully. The ambience of the cafe is warm and inviting, with a calm, relaxed atmosphere that makes it a perfect spot for a morning meal. To top it off, the staff was professional, friendly, and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, Isetta Cafe Bistro is a fantastic place to start your day with great food and a welcoming environment. Highly recommended!
Such a great hidden spot in West Vancouver. The Cafe has such a nice vibe, it’s always lively, the food is always great and service is friendly and consistent. The interior is well designed with its mid century charm and outdoor/indoor seating. You can tell they get a lot of regulars because it’s situated right on marine drive and it’s a great spot for cyclists to stop in for a quick drink/bite. The breakfast sandwich might one of the best out there. We absolutely LOVE it and highly recommend it. We’ve tried a few other items on the menu and it never disappoints. Another delicious one is their grilled cheese and tomato soup (come hungry because the grilled cheese is huge). Overall we highly recommend this spot! It’s a must!! ☕️ And if you’re into collector cars there’s a garage next door with some pretty fun vehicles! It’s rarely open but it’s nice to just look in the window. Oh! And another bonus is for the summer months they have a gelato stand outside now and it’s amazing!! A treat for sure! 5/5 ☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️
I recently visited Isetta Cafe in West Van and had a delightful experience. The ambiance of the cafe is cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The highlight of my visit was definitely the grilled cheese sandwich, which was wonderfully cheesy and satisfying. The combination of perfectly melted cheese and toasted bread was simply delightful. However, I must mention that the linguini vongole I ordered had a bit too much garlic for my taste. While I appreciate bold flavors, the garlic slightly overwhelmed the dish. Nonetheless, I must commend the cafe for using fresh ingredients and putting effort into their pasta dishes. The service at Isetta Cafe was prompt and friendly, enhancing the overall dining experience. The staff was attentive and accommodating, making sure I had a pleasant time. In terms of ambiance, Isetta Cafe has created a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The interior is tastefully decorated, providing a relaxed and cozy environment to enjoy your meal. Whether you're looking for a quick bite or a leisurely lunch, this cafe is a nice spot to unwind. Overall, I would recommend Isetta Cafe for its delicious grilled cheese sandwich and friendly service. Just be mindful of the garlic intensity in certain dishes. I will definitely be returning to try more items on their menu.

The food was delicious. I was sharing the full rack of ribs with my husband and they split the ribs and plated them nicely into 2 plates. They even gave a free dessert to my friend who was visiting from overseas!
Had a fantastic meal for my brothers birthday. I usually don't write reviews but this was an amazing experience. I haven't been to Earls Ambleside in a few years as it was never anything to write home about but tonight was really great. Our server Juliette was so kind and attentive. She did a great job of reading body language and being able to tell if anyone needed anything before we even asked. She surprised us with two birthday desserts for our table which was so kind and is something that restaurants never do anymore. There was a guest experience lady who came and hand delivered my brother a birthday card too. Nothing beats a hand written card! The bus boy who was helping her was great too. He noticed a glass was dirty when we sat down and he discreetly replaced it before we even asked and immediately filled our waters throughout the night. Food and drinks were excellent. Earls has really worked on its food quality and presentation and it is so much better than it was when I used to work there! You can tell lots of love goes into the food. The quality of the staff is incredible too, I imagine this is all a reflection of management. Good job team!! Hope to be back soon! Please share my thanks with Juliette and the staff that contributed to our great night :)
Certainly one of the best vegan pizzas I've had. What a pleasant surprise! We also had the vegan tacos, which were amazing. Highly recommend this place!

Hey! I've been told that I posted my review for the wrong location... Apologies! Here's my review for the right location this time... :-) Had dinner at the West Van location on Thursday night 2024) (Sept 18, 2024) and it was a truly outstanding experience! We had a series of starters, all fresh and each one tasted better than the one before! The beet salad was beyond outstanding though, I must say! For our mains, I had the roasted cauliflower and my husband had the duck. Again, they were wonderful. A beautiful mix of Peruvian and Japanese flavours. The service was swift and attentive without being over bearing. Our server knew the menu inside and out, giving us great advice. Although we live in Ottawa, we’ll be back when next in West Vancouver!
The Ambleside unit of the Ancora Waterfront restaurant is gorgeous! We had an awesome experience overall. Phenomenal service from start to finish and great selection of sushi and appetizers. The lobster roll was out of this world, just a bomb of different flavours; my favourite was the ceviche mixto though. The dining room has a wonderful decoration and the view to the Ambleside Beach is glorious.
Came here for my partner’s birthday. Nice decor and ambiance, good location and friendly staff. We ordered several different dishes, but the Ancora glacier platter stood out the most to us, as the quality of the seafood and the flavour …
