Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Vernon – 2024

What an amazing restaurant! I don't often say this but when we dined here it was by far one of the best meals and experiences I have had. First of all as a vegan I was happy to see an abundance of options for me and a complete open and understanding staff for adjustments to accommodate. Next the overall service was fantastic, our server was an amazingly friendly and warm and welcoming gentleman. The food was absolutely delicious. Everyone at our table thoroughly enjoyed their meals. We even took part in dessert and I was very happy to see vegan options there as well. I honestly can't find anything wrong to say other than maybe it would be nice to see some sound deadening material added to help with some of the additional noise but that is very minor. Very happy overall and can't wait to go back again.

I would like to start off with the phone call. Person on the line was amazing squeezed us in even though they were booked. We are only in town for the weekend. The atmosphere sets the tone for your entire experience! So beautiful and intimate. Makes you feel as if you are alone there. The service is phenomenal! Our server was perfect. Now for the food. Thee best part. Started off with bread and butter. Warm delicious yet so simple. Followed by the tomato salad and Caesar salad. Every bite was pure bliss ! Soon as those delightful salads were devoured to the point of almost licking the plate, followed the mouth watering Filet Mignon and the delectable Garden Pesto Pasta. And to finish it off Callebaut Chocolate Truffle. There are no words to describe how spectacular the food was. Every bite was perfect, absolute perfection. On the way out a server opened the door for us. We have never had this kind of experience dining out before. No place can compare ! I would give this place a 10/5 for Food, 10/5 for service and 10/5 Atmosphere.

We had a cozy early dinner here on the last day of our vacation. The venue is recently renovated, and full of art on the walls, wine bottle privacy screens and smaller semi private seating areas. Our server Paige was very cheerful, attentive and helpful. We very much enjoyed all of the dishes! We had Escargot Casino, Med bread, Moroccan Lamb and the Duck. My lamb was wonderfully seasoned and juicy. For dessert we had the sample size of creme brûlée and chocolate mousse, which was decadent and just the right size for a finale to a wonderful meal! If I had to find one thing to improve about our experience, it would be that I had several flies that were buzzing around me for the majority of the meal. In a very minor way it took away from the fine dining experience, but it didn’t ruin the meal. A lovely place and we wouldn’t hesitate to come back. Thank you Paige and everyone at Intermezzo!

First of all, the friendly warm atmosphere was so welcoming. We were greeted and seated right away. I loved the fun art on the walls. The service we received was so great—friendly, quick and efficient. The food was delicious, fresh and well presented. My son was able to choose the heat level of the butter chicken which was great because he loves spicy heat and they got it spot on. The pulled pork dinner was great and I opted to upgrade my side to the pear and goat cheese salad—yum! Loved the coleslaw and the veggies were cooked perfectly. Hubs and daughter enjoyed their sliders with mac n’cheese. The carrot cake was wonderful as well. The only slight disappointment was the caramel cheesecake which was a bit flat and underwhelming. Overall a lovely dining experience and we hope to return soon!!

Amazing place, fresh ingredients that make delicious food, great service. Huge portions with leftovers to take home, would definitely recommend. Charcuterie board and as huge!

The food was presented nicely, fast service and lovely costumer service. I would recommend coming to midtown bistro! The charcuterie boards are beautiful and the prices are fair. Midtown bistro has meal sizing for all, they have gluten free and vegetarian options. Hope to come here again soon!

The food was delicious, with plenty of options to choose from. Every seafood appetizer on the menu was tasty. I would highly recommend the Marrakech chicken, Short rib, gnocchi, And the lamb. It is a small restaurant so it’s quite personal and Romantic. The portions are large and the desserts are fantastic as well. I highly recommend this as a date spot for Vernon! Keep up the quality work it was amazing.

A family-run pillar in the Okanagan restaurant scene, The Med is stylish, warm and welcoming. Menu is varied but doesn't try to be everything to everyone. Pasta and Protein dishes are fundamental, punctuated by excellent fish, seafood and vegetarian options. Thoughtfully curated and well-prepared dishes are complimented by an excellent selection of wines and expertly prepared cocktails. Service is always friendly and efficient. The Med never disappoints and is our go-to place for lunch or dinner and an easy choice for occasions, events or entertaining visitors.

My family and i passed through vernon on our way to calgary. We decided to stop at the med restaurant and the service/hospitality was great! We loved our food and we will certainly stop by again whenever we make another trip

I don't know how this keeps happening but every time I have one of their turkey clubs it's the best turkey club I've ever had! Keep up the great work. Amazing team, fantastic service. Have even purchased art off the wall. Outstanding!

$17 for a sandwich and a drink. The sandwich was enormous and delicious and worth the price. Service wasn’t great but owner took the time to rectify it and was very friendly. Overall, would recommend.

Was a great experience. Feels very authentic, taste was great. We had chips and salasa and a burrito between 2 of us and it was just right. We had chicken burrito in the roja (red) sauce. Definitely a good choice.

Been here twice now and both times the food was very good. The burritos are massive and if you're like me with a big appetite, I'd definitely recommend you get that. I had enchiladas on my 2nd visit and they were also delicious although the portion was a lot less. Will definitely keep coming back.

Hit and miss with the food. Two plates were awesome and two not as good. Great sized portions. Also an issue with the nachos sticking to the parchment paper, so unless you sit and try to tear off parchment paper on your bottom row of nachos.

The brisket melted in your mouth, the beans we're not overpowering sweet like most places so I definitely enjoyed them, the candy bacon is mouth watering! The service is phenomenal, don't feel shy to ask questions, the server is the friendliest person ever and will share everything she knows about what to visit if you're a tourist or what to try on the menu! Definitely coming back to this place whenever we travel to the Okanagan again!

I want to be fair. The man who greeted us was great. The 1 sausage was good. Sauce good. Salad good. Brisket was dry and the chicken was ok.But when you pay $34 for a platter and $20 for a large salad you should get more than this. So they served me no better than fast food. Only 2 items with a total cost of$ 65.21? Nope never again. Its places like this is the reason people dont go out like they used to.

One of the best overall dining experiences we've had in awhile! We travel and eat out quite a bit, and it's so nice to find a place with quality food and amazing, efficient and friendly service! Comfortable dining room, (plus outdoor seating) and clean washrooms. The menu is varied and so yummy, it's hard to decide. Definitely recommend and will return when in Vernon again! Try the Chorizo Skillet!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

For under $30 with a good tip, 2 ppl can have the best breakfast in town. Me and my wife are regulars coming almost every Sunday morning for breakfast and it’s something we look forward to all week. The staff are friendly, the service is good and quick, the portions are amazing (I get the half breakfast everytime and I never leave hungry) and the coffee is my fave in town. What’s not to like!? Even if we come and there is a line up out the door, you never wait more than 10-15 mins for a table. The ONLY place in town we will stand and wait to get in for. Oh, and try the skillet potatoes instead of the traditional hash-browns, GAME CHANGER! By far the best breakfast in Vernon and more than likely the Okanagan. 10/10!

Was quite disappointed with the food. It tastes all right. The waffle came without whipping cream and I then asked for it. Am I surprised to get an extra bill for $1.50 for a shot of whipping cream. Well won’t be back again for sure.

The staff is friendly and the atmoshere is comfortable. The arcade is awesome to keep kids busy while the adults get some alone time or get in on the fun! ;)

We hosted our son's 9th birthday party in the Arcade area and it was fantastic. All the kids had a blast. The area was brand new and super clean and we had it all to ourselves. Our sever was super helpful and made sure that everything came out quickly and without a hitch. Definitely recommend for a party or group function!

Pub grub food at its finest. Casual atmosphere with great open air patio section. I had the cod tacos; big piece of well seasoned lightly battered cod. $5/taco and can mix and match. Respectable large portioned poutine . Cheese pizza was not bad. If wings are your jam then this is the place. 100 flavours.

Epic. As a first time customer Jim's is without a doubt the best pizza I've had in a long time. If you're not familiar I recommend ordering well in advance it's a busy place and for good reason.

Pizza is best in town, too bad the guy at the front can't keep things straight. Had too many waits half an hour or more over what I was told. Tonight someone else got my two large pizzas and I was offered two mediums and $20 bucks off. Sorry pal, I got a family of six to feed, that's why I placed an order for large pizzas. Spend less time focusing on your whole long spiel, everyone is just polite to you and can't actually stand it. Focus on getting things right instead.

We stopped in for a quick breakfast during a vacation. There must have been some sort of gathering when we arrived as there were about 30 people with name tags. It didn't seem to affect our excellent service, however. The Nutella and banana French toast was absolutely delicious. I do wish they were bananas foster vs just raw, sliced bananas, but that's getting picky. The pancakes were super thick and fluffy. The decor is a bit wishing and dated , but it adds to the overall cozy atmosphere. Definitely will go back if we're in the area again!

I was impressed by this restaurant tonight; their service was top-notch—very friendly and welcoming. The Greek gyro was delightful, and we also loved the butter chicken. They serve Thai food as well, which you can try if their grandma is around, so be sure to check. The ambiance was great, and I loved the view.

Found this little restaurant on google looking for a family run local eatery. Lovely owner, yummy food & excellent prices. We will definitely come back next time we are in Vernon. Thank you for feeding us

Cute small little restaurant. They have a drive through and a tiny shelf/table you can sit inside. There were two very friendly and kind men running the store. When I arrived there was 1 person in drive through and 3 people inside. These workers got everyone out of there so quickly! It was great efficient service. After taking my order it was ready in under 10 minutes. Hot items were packaged seperate from the cold items. The worker opened my salad after purchase to put fresh croutons and parmesan in so everything was crunchy and fresh to eat. The pasta dishes come with focaccia bread which is delicious! I got the penne with italian sausage and 2 meatballs just to try the flavor. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. The meatballs were so flavorful and you get 1 whole Italian sausage! The desert was very nice as well. A little sweet for me to eat in one sitting but it was still just as good the next day. I really enjoyed my visit here.

I adore quaint family-owned restaurants and this one exceeded expectations. When I arrived, the gentleman kindly recommended a sauce and allowed me to test try it (so kind of him) The flavours were so delicious!!! We ordered the Arrabiata spaghetti with meatballs and the Sundried Tomato Cream Sauce with fettuccine and sausage. The only downside? - I wanted more! We will be back, when we are in town. Tanya and her staff make their meals with heart. Each dish is hand crafted with care and made from local ingredients, and fine ingredients! No skimping on quality here. I walk away feeling fulfilled, energized and happy I stopped in. The soups are made the way my Grandma did. There are even some gluten-free options, such as the take away dinners. You get your value at this cute little deli. Thank you for feeding my hunger with healthy food!

I could not believe what a hidden gem we found while out glamping in August at Utopian Feels with the kids. The experience was so fantastic that our future travel plans will include going in this direction just so that we can eat here again. The place was immaculate, the atmosphere lovely, the service absolutely amazing and made us feel so taken care of and comfortable, they were kind to my rambunctious children, the quality and presentation of the food was incredible (you could taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients), service was quick, my picky teens were thrilled with the stuffed French toast and the grandparents also loved their meal. There is something for everyone. Vegan and gluten free options. One of the best overall family dining experiences we have ever had. We dined in and had take out. There is lovely fresh flavoured water and local artisan products there to buy as well. I look forward to returning here with my family.

Friendly local stop for coffee, tea, breakfast and lunch. Had the beef dip with thai tomato basil soup, for lunch. Sandwich was decent on a fresh soft bun. Soup could have used a little more spice and flavor for me. 24.00 for soup and sand. Eat local and support small. A good stop in the area. Selection of to go muffins, cookies and some local crafts, beans and teas also for sale.

Pizza and margaritas were excellent! Tried the mango margarita and froze; made really well and very reasonably priced. There is a lovely patio to enjoy. Service was top notch. Will be back to try the poutine and other cocktails.

Great poutine, we got the pulled pork poutine. The fries were crisp and not overly greasy, and the pulled pork wasn’t drowning in sauce or sickly sweet like you might get at some pubs. This is the Poutine that pubs wish they served. I think the owner served us cause he seemed happy to be there. The inside is covered I. “Live laugh love” cheesy signs but it kind of works. If I lived near this place I would be a regular for sure!

Wanted a casual meal out tonight. Decided on Original Joe’s and we weren’t disappointed. Food was good, wine was good and service was excellent. Our server (Destiny) was friendly and helpful. She was there when we needed her but gave us space when we didn’t. A server should add to the dining experience, not simply take orders and serve food. Destiny you certainly added to our dining experience with your quick smile, quick service, and expert skill with a corkscrew, thank you.

Broken Glass found in food, multiple pieces, luckily was not really cut but I did bite down on it and it was unpleasant. I spoke to the manager and was originally offered a gift card that didn't cover the full cost of the meal, I was refunded through Skip the Dishes instead, I sent pictures to the manager and he said he would look into it and then didn't respond back and it's been a few days now, usually the food is very good, but I would caution anyone from this place, I definitely will not be going back as it didn't seem like they took it very seriously, and someone could get hurt.

I hadn't been to Midtown Bistro in years... but have now been twice this year for intimate parties. My best friend hosted her wedding rehearsal dinner here back in September; the food was delicious and the atmosphere was nice. We recommended to our mother in law to book Midtown for their staff Christmas party (which was last night) and she couldn't stop raving about how awesome the experience was. The food was delicious again and it is such a cozy space. It is nice to not have to share the space as it allows the staff provide top-notch service. The price was totally reasonable to boot. 100% recommend Midtown Bistro whether you are just stopping in for a meal or if you need to host an event. PS - The Thai prawns were to die for, easily some of the best prawns I've ever had.

Super cute little store, also has groceries, frozen produce and Japanese ice creams! There are quite a few things I find here that I can’t elsewhere around town. Fast, delicious sushi. I love the sit down/eat in tables area.

My friend and I came here for the first time. It's a lovely little restaurant which has some Japanese inspired products being sold on the side. They have a small menu primarily consisting of rolls. It is absolutely delicious (we had the flam-seared yam rolls and the Best Couple Rolls. The Best Couple Rolls were the best. We also had tempura prawns which was more Chinese Deep Fried Prawns rather than the tempura images conjured in our brains. The plates are a lovely touch. You pay at the counter before your food comes, but we tipped after the meal as they do have a tip jar. We paid approximately $21.50 4 pieces of tempura prawn, 8 flam seared yam rolls, and 8 best couple rolls after tax but before tip. The young man and woman working were both very friendly. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant if you want to try some of the unique rolls.
