My wife and I decided to have lunch date at Hawkers. The restaurant has ample seating options to include front outdoor dining right on the Ave, interior dining, and outdoor seating on their patio. Their menu had many Chinese staples to choose from. After a review of the menu and a few recommendations, we chose the following items: Chinese BBQ Pork Bao Buns, Hong Kong Sticky Ribs, Chow Fan Fried Rice, and Yi Yi’s dumplings. The bao buns 6/10: The buns were fresh and soft, but the pork was a bit too chewy. The sticky ribs 8/10: The ribs were flavorful and tender with just the right amount of sauce. The fried rice 8/10: The rice was fresh, hot, and delicious. The only issue was the lack of meat pieces inside the rice. The Yi Yi’s dumplings 5/10: The dumplings were just ok. There was no wow factor with these dumplings. The tequila mules were skrong and served with Milagros Tequila. We also tried their Thai basil Paloma, which was refreshing but not too strong. As first timers , we really enjoyed their food and will be returning in the future to try out some of their menu items.
