Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Pharr – 2024

It’s being years since we come to this restaurant in Las Milpas,Texas that the place was remodeled and the food was so delicious. Our service was amazing by Carmen and our server Luis El Captitan had very good customer service awesome service. Keep up the good job!!!!!

Food and atmosphere were great! However, service was terrible. We had to get up multiple times because our server never came to the the table. Service is everything & it can easily ruin dinning experience. Imagine working a long shift and then only to follow it by terrible service. Imagine being a parent and waiting weeks to have a date night and then it getting ruined due to terrible service. Imagine going as a family as we did tonight and never gettting approached by ANYONE to see if we needed something. I just wish they cared more about the clients because of clientes businesses are able to be successful.

Great place to have lunch with your family and friends. Food is fresh and service is top notch. Highly recommend it.

Looking for some Mexican food to eat while in the area. Restaurant look like a family own restaurant. The prices are fair and the waitresses are friendly. No complaints and waiting time was less than a minute. Recommend the place for some good Mexican food.

Breakfast tacos too expensive, too greasy they barely add the ingredient. Not worth the price!!

Last time I came here was almost 20 years ago. Today I ordered a couple of eggs with a pork chop on the side. I ran into the same problem most restaurants have with pork chops, overcooked. The waitress did offer to exchange it but I hate sending things back to the cook. I did not eat the dry pork chop and the cashier was nice enough to not charge me for it. I'll return hopefully with more time in case there are any issues with my food. Going to try lunch next time.

Hands down Jade provided some of the best service I have ever gotten in a restaurant. She was hospitable and very friendly without being overbearing. She was fast, efficient and so pleasant to deal with. The food and drink was great and the dessert to celebrate finding the dress was perfect. I would definitely request to be seated in her section again.

We haven't been able to go because this place is always full, so we decided to go on 4th of July and it was not full. Perfect date to go. We ordered the Pappadeaux Seafood platter.. sorry, didn't get any pictures, but it was perfect for two adults and 1 child. The food was delicious. For our appetizers we got the roasted oysters which were pretty good. I will get the raw ones next time. For dessert we got the turtle brownie with icecream. That was delicious as well. With our appetizer, our platter, dessert, 1 beer, 1 tea, 1 lemonade it was less than $100 and was worth the price. We will be coming again and trying out own plates next time :) 2nd Review: Came for husbands birthday on Saturday. Sat down immediately, had an amazing waiter and we tried the Mardi Gras pasta w/ no sausage for me [ I don't eat meat] and my husband got the stuffed jumbo shrimp wrapped in bacon. My son wanted fried catfish w/white rice as his side and we got the calamari and octopus appetizer. My dish was like 2 entrees. My husband also brought home a good portion of his dish . Everything was amazing and we will be back again.

Been here several times, always great. This time we ordered the Grouper with Jumbo Crab and the Red Snapper with Jumbo Crab (with fries instead of the spinach). Both were full of flavor and delicious! Grouper was a little spicy, which was not expecting, but nothing extreme. Recommend both dishes.

We came here for an early lunch date. The place is very spacious and clean. Our server was very attentive and patient while we viewed the menu, being that it was our first time here. The food we ordered was great. Will definitely be coming back!

Great service with excellent atmosphere! Waitress was excellent, food order was fast and super tasty! Tried the fajita tacos and were delicious! Recommend it!

Food was great! I got the Steak and Chimichurri. Service was on top of everything. The live music they had put out a great vibe for the restaurant. Owner as well came out and greeted tables asking how the food was and about our day. Will definitely bring my family here again. 10/10.

I recently dined at a fantastic Mexican restaurant that truly exceeded my expectations! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The vibrant decor and lively music set the perfect tone for a delightful evening. The highlight of my visit was definitely the young manager, Angel. His passion for the restaurant and dedication to providing an exceptional dining experience were evident in every aspect. He took the time to personally greet guests, ensuring everyone felt valued and welcomed. Angel also shared his recommendations on the menu, and I was thrilled with his suggestions. The food was absolutely delicious! Each dish was bursting with authentic flavors and beautifully presented. I'll definitely come back.

Food is actually fresh ... Servers are friendly and the atmosphere is delightful. I loved the chipotle fish plate a little to much sauce for my liking but delicious. Had a lot of favorable spices which exploded in my mouth. Didn't mind that either.. I would love to try the rest of the plates when I get a chance. Overall I highly recommend this restaurant if your looking to taste fish and shrimp plates from Mexico.

The food was cold when they brought it to our table. We ordered 3 different dishes, my mom’s plate was messed up, my bowl looked like it had been microwave, the rice was hard and it tasted days old. My sisters plate was missing bread and they didn’t bring it till the end, and when the server brought it, it had a beer cap in the middle. The server never asked for a refill or if we needed anything else.

So my wife & I went back to give this restaurant a 2ndchance since the 1st time we went wasn't as pleasant. I must say this time around the food was delicious our waitress was serviceable and very nice as well as polite. The atmosphere is nice as well as the restaurant layout. We got to see the behind the scenes of how it all comes together and I must say I was impressed. This time around I shall be able to recommend this place for family &friends as well our business luncheons and just to simply come again. Food is delicious, our waitress Anahi was a gem and overall way better experience this time around will definitely come again.

Delicious food and great service! This is a lively, family-friendly establishment. I didn't try the drinks, but my friend said they were pretty good. We had our monthly dinner here, and although there was music, it wasn't too loud to have a conversation.

I had a great experience at Luby's Cafeteria. I ordered the fried fish, macaroni, and corn, and everything was delicious. The sweet tea was also a highlight! I have a service dog, and the staff was very kind and accommodating. They even helped me carry my plate. Highly recommend this place!

I've always liked Lubys but lately my favorite chicken baked plate has lost flavor. The chicken is cold and stiff to chew. Mashed potatoes and macaroni were good. The service staff is still good at giving refills and maintaining clean tables

This is a good place to eat! There is live music on the weekends. Which adds to the fun atmosphere. I felt as if I was in Mexico. The decor is beautiful. The food is delicious. I highly recommend coming here. They do not serve margaritas, despite the name. Beer only.

Update: 3/18/24 Came again with parents, brother with wife. They ordered enchiladas, big burrito, carne guisada and I tried the burger. As always food was great. No complaints here. Update: 9/3/23 Place is still the same. Food is still great. This time I ordered grill chicken sandwich my mom a burger and my dad bistec ranchero. Delicious as always. Update: 6/23/23 Place is still the same and still very good. I ordered a burger so did mom my dad have some bestic plate. They said it was all very good. I loved my burger it was juicy and very tasty. The fries that came with it were nice and crispy. Not to soggy and not to hard. This place was really good. Tried it because my brother n law said it was good. So took my parents, and it didn't disappoint. The lady who service us was really nice and attentive. The food was hot and good. Sucks that I live in McAllen if not I would go every chance I get but will go again soon.

Loved that they make in house proper bolillos for their tortas. I will be back with the family. Nice touch was the option of soup or salad. Yum

These tortas were amazing! The bread tasted fresh and was not greasy like other places. The portion size is great and filling. There is plenty of seating. The side salad with the cilantro dressing was tasty. Their salsa is a whole new level of spicy and flavorful! The cucumber lemonade was so refreshing.

I really like the service and food selection here. I appreciate the quality in general the steak and cheese...nothing like this place. La Portuguese was extremely good. I really like the daily variety of soups. The best part they have good combination of meals the cucumber & limon was delicious.

The food was not well prepared. Eggs were undercooked, beans were watery, tortillas tasted reheated and old. The only thing good out of 4 plates we ordered was the coffee, toast, and fries.

We were so excited to have menudo, so it was a great disappointment when we tried it and it had NO flavor! I added salt, but it didn't help much. Luckily, I had ordered another plate of enchiladas, which can't with rice and beans. That one was good! Our server was pleasantly nice and came to check up on us regularly.

YOU CAN NEVER GO WRONG WITH THIS AMAZING RESTAURANT! I had the Galeana Plate which is Queso Panela en salsa with two eggs and frijoles de olla on the side. momma bear had antojitos plate, it has chicharrón en salsa roja, frijoles fritos, two eggs and nopales. Finally baby jenaiah had taco de barbacoa with refried beans on the side. The coffee is strong and very hot which is really good, Lemonade is fresh, tea is good and chocolate milk is made to perfection. We loved it so much that our plates were left cleaned! Fernando’s restaurant has the best handmade flour and corn tortillas! Did I mention the staff is very attentive and the ambiance is causal! 10/10 please visit them soon!

First time at this place and i really like the food we order lasagna, pizza and pasta it was good i recommend the lady cashier was really kind only bad thing os that we saw mold on the sealing on the lobby and on men restrooms

Came in for a quick bite, had me some boneless wings they are fair passable. Basically in my opinion it's mire like for a kid. I expected a bit better had to much batter so the taste was just meh! It was garlic parmesean and it's ok but not my fav. I didn't feel like spicy so I went with this. So it is just ok other dishes on menue are alot better so this is my lease fave. As the last visit wow it was well worth the drive and dine there. Was great for us. So I'm giving an updated review plain and simple dine in is great, but the drive-thru, depending on who is at the window, will 98% mess up your order. Best off, get off and wait if u want it to go... I came again this weekend and they recomend me the meatball sammich is was meh! A but to salty for me. Don't get me wrong, I like salt, but too much is just no taste to anything. I tasted salt and over greased bun. So I wasn't a fan. Don't let the presentation fool you. Looks delish, but the taste was definitely not there for a meatball sammich. As far as desert, well, I love cheesecake factory without a doubt, and you expect a slice like the cheesecake factory, but this slice was too small for the price. It is good, but the price leaves just a bitter taste in your mouth..

Staff was welcoming and service was great. The food was delicious. We even liked the music that was being played. Monse, our waitress, was very attentive.

Amazing chilaquiles verdes!!! Literally the best I’ve tried. My husband had pupusas and they were really good too. Plus the portions are more than enough for all appetites I’d say A good experience overall. *only thing is I wish they had fountain drinks

Food was delicious, totally forgot about the picture but took one after the first bite. Both Chilaquiles were really good, the salsas are really good also and the coffee was good it had cinnamon like traditional “cafe de la olla”. One thing that might make it better is for the portions to be bigger since you are paying to add extras that usually should come included in the plate but instead the portions given are small.

There is nothing else I can say but to recommend El Itacate in Pharr, TX. As soon as we walked in we were greeted, the lady taking the order was very patient with us while thinking what to choose from their menu. The food came out and was very delicious. The ladies here were very nice and attentive. Great customer service! El Itacate in Pharr is a place I will visit for sure again.

My wife and I stopped by for breakfast and we absolutely loved it! The food was delicious and prices were very reasonable! Their ranchera sauce was so good! Erika was our server and she was very attentive and kind! She kept checking on us to see if we needed anything! She was very knowledgeable on what came with each plate! We definitely look forward to coming back!!

Very sweet people and amazing atmosphere They take your order immediately as soon as u sit down and are helpful with the menu Would def recommend for anyone looking to try authentic Mexican food. Chips are free as well and come with a small soup on the side. Foods 10/10 !

My wife and I were in the area and decided to have lunch. All we wanted was a brisket sandwich. As we walk in we were welcomed very warmly. The young lady that assisted us gave us recommendations. My wife had the brisket and sausage without cheese. I had the El Jefe. It was a grounded brisket burger. It was super good. I had it with 2 very crisp and delicious fresh jalapeños. The tea was fresh and delicious. I love the ice. As we walk out we had many staff members wish us a great day and thank us for dinning there. We enjoyed the clean dinning room and warm atmosphere. Thank you folks.

WOW! My husband and I came on a Sunday afternoon and let me tell you, that was the best seafood we have ever had. My husband got the Coctel De Camaron and the Filete de Pescado enchipotlado and I got the Mahi Mahi Filete Al Grill. For dessert we tried the Pay de mango, it was perfect not too sweet and the perfect amount for 2 . Everything we got was a 10/10, the atmosphere was calm and everyone who worked there was extremely nice as well! I HIGHLY recommend you come try this place, we left super happy and will definitely be coming back.

Loved the food, atmosphere, and service!! The octopus taco was really good that we ordered a second one haha Also the beans and salsa provided before the meal is really tasty :) All the seafood in ceviche and the tuna tostado were super fresh and a lot of flesh. I personally liked the tostado over taco cuz of the tortilla. Next time we are gonna order the grilled octopus cuz the octopus is just so good!!

Came to try this on a recommendation from a friend, so glad we drove 2.5hrs because it was worth every penny. Alexis our waiter was attentive and on his toes. We lacked for nothing. They set us up with plenty of napkins, limes, refried beans, topos, and salsa with a glass of broth on the side. Next we ordered a ceviche Tropical. Mixed Shrimp and Fish. So fresh and delicious. We opted for the 32oz and the portion was enormous. I ordered the Shrimp Scampi half order which was larger than any pasta dish I’ve ever had, the Shrimp breading was seasoned and battered to perfection. Camarones Momias we’re also a big hit! Fried to a golden brown with a savory white rice. Last we tried the Tostada Ensenada de Pulpo. It had a fantastic cilantro crema and the pulpo was overflowing on the tostada. This restaurant definitely ranks at the very top of my favorites list!
