Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in McKinney – 2024

I cannot say enough good things about this place. A true gem! Massive patio outside seating and porch covered options. Also a bar to the side. We hit a perfect fall weather day and the beautiful trees with falling leaves. Waitress very helpful and friendly. We had chips and queso, which were great. The strawberry shortcake dessert is a must! Entrees were a chicken wrap and a burger, both good. Waffle fries super crispy! Will definitely be back.

Arrived on a Saturday afternoon with great patio weather. Hostess told us it was about a 20 min await and we were seated in 10 min, took about 15 min for a server to come to us with water and we were ready to order by then. The chicken tenders were 10/10! My husband got the burger and he said it was just okay. Server was very nice and brought out water for the pups. Busy place, cute atmosphere, would come back, but it def seems like a place that’s always busy

Colton our server was so friendly and prompt! We arrived around 1 for lunch and we didn’t wait for a table! We order 3 beers and entrees which also arrived promptly ! We ordered the smothered waffle fries as our appetizer; a fabulous yard burger cooked to perfection and a farm fresh salad with goat cheese and apple slices. Everything was delicious and server hot! And their prices were reasonable too! The outdoor seating area is spacious and they even provided fly fans on each table to deter the flying pests! The yard was the perfect place for a delightful break in our shopping day at the Market square ! I hope to visit again when I’m in town from Chicago!

What a lovely place. Plenty of open outdoor spaces. Lots of TV’s for game watching. Dog friendly patio with comfy sofas, fire pits and space for the kids to play. Food is ok standard bar menu but There’s a variety for everyone’s tastes. I had the wedge salad with a chicken strip. I finished it all so it must have been good. The holiday decor was fun too!

This was our first time here and definitely won’t be the last, food was delicious, drink(beware) one was enough for me… great place for friends and families! The V-adventurous family recommends. Country bowl was my favorite! And Shoutout to Ady for her amazing service!

Great live music! We saw The Michelle Taylor Band, and they rocked! Her voice was amazing!! Great service, food too salty but drinks yummy!

I've been here for dinner (amazing) and brunch (disappointing). Highly recommend this as a dinner spot. It is located in historic downtown McKinney so be aware parking can take extra time. For brunch, I had the steak and eggs with coffee. The steak was good, the eggs were cold and the breakfast potatoes were mediocre. The coffee didn't come out very hot but had good flavor.

Really nice restaurant. Nice ambiance, and really good service. We got the fried green tomatoes and sugar bacon for appetizers. For the entrees, my wife got the lobster Mac and cheese, and I got the pork chops and truffle fries. Drinks were good as well.

We had an awesome time. Thanks to our waiter, he was great and always on time . Wish I could remember his name , Tyler , Trey …. The food was great , definitely no complaints. We will definitely be going back.

This was my first time visiting this Saltgrass Steak House. They always have the best grilled chicken, green beans and bread. We stopped into Saltgrass on our way out of town for a quick lunch. The food was great as always and I’ll definitely be back at this Saltgrass again soon.

Birthday Celebration for wife. Service was exactly what we have become accustomed to from Saltgrass. Redfish, steak, shrimp, salad, and hamburger was good. A little on the high side when comparing portions to price. Thankfully had a $20 reward available. Got there a little over an hour before closing. Did not feel rushed to order and eat. Shout out to our server for turning the channel to the Dallas Stars hockey game.

I would like to first start by saying I am a very meticulous person. My family and I went to Saltgrass in McKinney, Texas, on September 14th, 2024, for dinner. It was the most amazing experience that we have had in a very long time. The manager, Mary, was very responsive and accommodating. Our server, Gabriel, was very professional and attentive. Brandon, who wasn't our server, was very funny and very personable. I would recommend this restaurant and experience to everyone. Although it's on the pricey side, it's well worth it, and the Waygu steak, it was better than any steak I've ever had. I also got a frozen Crown and Coke, and it was good. My husband had the peacan bread pudding with ice cream, and he thoroughly enjoyed it.. I apologize for the pictures, but we started eating before I thought to do this review. But all in all, our entire family was extremely satisfied ( which is very rare). This place is a must try, and I highly recommend it.

We went last night because once again they had their $8.99 shrimp boil special. You can’t beat the value with 12 or so large shrimp a potato and corn. I like their “all in” seasoning which is a blend of butter/garlic and Cajun spice. My wife had the planked salmon, she said it was “good but not great”. They run some great specials so make sure to get on their text list. The service can be “spotty” when they are busy, but I always enjoy the food.

I had a great meal here last night! I added salmon to the classic salad, and it was delicious! I tried the blood orange margarita and peach martini, both of which were superb!

I really wish I could give this place a higher review as it is fairly close to where I live. However, I found what we had ordered was either too salty or too sweet. We had come during happy hour, and the drinks were all very enticing, however the mule and peach jalapeño martini were too sweet to enjoy. And I’m someone who likes anything quite sweet. The reason for the visit was for a birthday and my desire was to enjoy some seafood boil. I selected the “all in” sauce for the seafood boil, which consisted of garlic butter and Cajun seasoning, which sounded perfect for my liking, but was dreadfully salty. I had to eat my crab clusters without enjoying the sauce because of how salty the sauce was, and that there was no spice to the seafood boil either. The roasted jalapeño cream soup was actually probably the best thing that we had, it was flavorful and perfect amount per person in a cup. I would completely skip the Cajun pasta. There was no richness to the sauce and might as well have been called overcooked pasta with a butter sauce, and some protein on it. Even the sausages looked like hotdogs rather than andouille sausages. Since we were celebrating a birthday, we were kindly served a Keylime pie, which was also not too bad. Although the food was not very satisfying, the customer service was lovely and we were attended to very quickly.

Rick’s is nestled in the heart of historic Chestnut Square in downtown McKinney. We go there for special occasions like our anniversary, but we also go for brunch which is 5 star mind blowing. We go there for every other excuse I can think of. Undoubtedly one of the best Burgers in town and priced on par with fast food, so treat yourself. If you don’t want to wait ask for the bar. Great atmosphere.

Hands down one of the best restaurants that I’ve been to in quite some time. The service was flawless as well as our cuisine. The choices of wild game were my favorite. Be sure to check this one of a kind place out!

We had a B-day dinner party for 10 people. Everything was great! Steaks cooked to order, sides were delicious. Service was excellent. The whole staff is great! 4 stars for atmosphere. It can get a bit loud in the dining area, and there is no dress code but, everyone was happy, a good time was had by all!

Great hospitality, wonderful/welcoming service! The best Olive Garden location I've visited! Our waiter went above and beyond service even was mindful enough to wish me a Happy Birthday overhearing my mother's birthday wishes to me. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience for my family and I and for you genuine, great service. The MOD as well thank you sir for checking in on us and going above and beyond your service/hospitality, making sure we were taken care of. I wish all Olive Gardens would be like this experience they could learn a thing or two. Great crew, great service, Great food! Excellent Dining Experience! I had an amazing experience at Olive Garden! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm, friendly atmosphere. The staff was incredibly attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was absolutely delicious — the breadsticks were fresh and addictive, and the pasta was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend the Chicken Alfredo, and the salad was crisp and flavorful. Portion sizes were generous, and we left feeling more than satisfied. Great value for the price! I’ll definitely be returning soon.

Everything was delicious: a lot of pasta, great dessert, a convenient location, and a lovely setting to enjoy dinner. Would be awesome if we had music in the background.

Reasonably priced popular local eatery with ordinary Italian dishes loaded with lots of cheese. Our green salads had water in the bottom of the bowl. Service was fast, with unremarkable flavors.

The food here is excellent! Servers are friendly and service is fast. We got the chicken florentine & pasta sampler. Florentine's white sauce was not salty, and had a creaminess that went great with the mushrooms. The sampler came out bubbling hot (literally) and each bit was so cheesy and delicious! Not pictured was the salad and garlic rolls (yum!) that came on the side. They cover the windows so it's a little dimmer inside and creates a really nice homey atmosphere!

I have driven past this Italian restaurant so many times, but my normal spot had too long of a wait so I came to try it. I had the best chicken alfredo I've ever eaten in my life. My compliments to the owners and the chef! I learned they make everything fresh, this was amazing and I will be back! Great service, friendly and welcoming!

Hutchins is one of the few places that lived up to the hype for me. When people talk about Texas BBQ, THIS is what they’re talking about. It is obvious they take pride in what they do, and their pricing structure reflects it. I had the pork ribs and sliced brisket with a side of fries and some of their COMPLIMENTARY banana pudding. All of it was OUTSTANDING! They get VERY busy during lunch. This is definitely a place I will be returning to.

Finally found the BBQ texas is known for. Blows hard 8 out of the water. The brisket is incredibly moist while still cooking through a lot of the fat. The mashed potato casserole is a must have. I'd skip the sausages unfortunately, as well as the okra, but the Jalapeño beans are some of the best non homemade beans I've had.

I have now experienced the Texas Twinkie. Yes, they have great barbecue, but it’s much more than that. Every.Single.Employee was so friendly, truly kind and helpful to this first time guest. I have never experienced every employee— outside in the pit or inside the building— who were so kind and caring. Well oiled machine - despite the line well before they open, they get you in and eating as quick as possible. No coke, but they do have Dr. Pepper. I was going to bypass the banana pudding because of my diet. Don’t pass it up. Eat the banana pudding. It’s worth cheating on your diet. Never in my life have I had banana pudding like this. Can’t wait to see y’all in Lockhart in November!

Came here with my husband and elementary age son for our 10 year wedding anniversary to celebrate as a family. They were so kind, congratulated us, and made it a little more fun for our son. This was our first time at their new location which happened to also be their locations 1yr anniversary. All in all an amazing experience and environment.

I loved everything about this place. Greeted with a smile, cool vibe on the third floor that we luckily didn’t need a reservation for. Really good live music, attentive, friendly server and the food and drink was fantastic! My friend and I shared a beet salad with chicken and the roasted pork enchiladas. Every part of the meal was seasoned to perfection. The meat was perfectly cooked. I had the Violet Beauregard cocktail, delicious. There was a $3 split charge for the entree, that wasn’t disclosed but I wasn’t mad about it. Portions were large enough that we both had plenty to eat. It’s not a quiet space but it is intimate and you can hear each other over the music. If I lived in Dallas, I’d be a frequent diner.

We had dinner there last night for the first time. Our friends raved about Harvest and it didn’t disappoint. I had the striped bass (it was delicious!) and my husband had the grass fed filet (he said it was very good). We also had the deviled eggs (a must!) and finished off with the chocolate cheesecake. It’s not a traditional cheesecake and wasn’t overly sweet. We really enjoyed it. It was my birthday dinner and Dustin, our server, was fantastic! He took great care of us and made wonderful recommendations. We will definitely be back! Oh and make a reservation because it gets very busy.

Our waitress was so sweet! Micaela (I think I’m spelling this right) was so fast and patient with us! A party of 17 with 3 little kids all under the age of 3 and the littlest one being a few months old. She was playful with the kids and managed to help the rest of us decide what to eat. She’s a fast and hard worker with excellent time management! I’ve never had such a good waitress before! The food was fantastic! The water was clean and tasted fresh. The place was clean, cool and not sticky. I had an amazing experience. The atmosphere was inviting and friendly. For being a family restaurant I was surprised with how nice everything was. The places back home in Ohio aren’t as nice as this! Gloria’s Latin Cuisine and especially Micaela made my stay at Texas a wonderful experience! I feel very welcomed

I have to say, I've slept on this restaurant. Came here for dinner and was not disappointed. The food was amazing, and the service from Lorena was even better. I ordered the Pollo con champiñones and it was delicioso ! My date ordered the Snapper over seasoned rice. We really enjoyed our experience and would definitely come back. The only issue we had was the drinks. There is little to no alcohol in any of the drinks. Taste was more syrup and ice, super sweet. They were kind enough to remove the drinks from our tab, and we just drank water.

From the start when we arrived the restaurant had a welcome, elegantly , friendly atmosphere. Coupled to professional and friendly service specially from Elly. We had a terrific time with an excellent service , high quality awesome food. Thank you to the entire team

The lasagna was delicious. Great sauce with the right balance of cheese. You will not be disappointed. It seemed like the pasta was made there too. The food tasted fresh and made from scratch. A very authentic vibe. Any red sauce dish would be a recommendation.

We have been on the hunt for authentic food in the DFW area and this definitely hit the mark. The ambiance was nice and in a great downtown McKinney location. We loved the spinach dip with fresh bread. Our favorite pasta was the spaghetti. We will return!

Each time we visited, we were seated quickly without needing a reservation. We were warmly greeted at the door and our server and other staff were friendly and attentive. The dining area is cozy and closely quartered but not unreasonably noisy. You can easily carry on a conversation while you dine. Our water glasses were kept full and the fresh bread was provided throughout the meal. Our meals were served quickly, piping hot. Fresh Parmesan cheese and ground pepper service was offered. Each dish was delicious, leaving us wanting to lick the plate clean. Having some bread for that purpose was helpful. If you're looking for a quality Italian meal on the square this is a great choice.

First of all, I am not a bot. No one paid me to write this. I’m a legit dude. Anyways. My wife, 1 year old son and I just had a Sunday lunch date. We got the chicken fried chicken and the 9.99 value meal, the vegetable platter. I am not exaggerating when I say this is the best meal we’ve gotten while going out in a very long time. Every side was fresh and delicious, as the battered items are all hand made to order. The mushrooms? Hands down first place in all of life. The new manager was very hospitable and checked on us often. If you have been experiencing less than desirable experiences at restaurants, or thought “I could have made that better at home” then go here and take an actual break from life. We will definitely be coming back.

The Sunday $9.99 special is Chicken n Dumplins. Yum. Great service from Joni in a down home setting. People are just so sweet in McKinney. Maybe it comes with the sweet tea! I also came for the fried green tomatoes, which exceeded my expectations, especially with the avocado ranch that comes with it. I ordered squash casserole and a whole sweet potato, steamy hot and dripping with butter! Soft fluffy dinner rolls accompanied the meal. But the best part of the meal, was my visit with Mary, the delightful GM. When she said her favorite part of the job was the people she met, I believed her! Customer service can make or break a business. And although my meal was delicious, she will be the reason I return to this location! That, and for the best chicken fried steak in town!

This place is amazing. The food is great and so reasonable. The staff are always super friendly and even on the rare occasion they make a mistake they totally own it and they more than compensate for it. The manager Mary whom I met the other night when picking up an order was just the nicest person. I was so happy to be able to tell her just how much my family LOVES Cotton Patch. There’s something on the menu for everyone (their bread is amazing) and I could literally go on and on about how fabulous they are but I have a better idea, you should go and check it out for yourself, you will NOT be disappointed. You’ll get an amazing meal for a fantastic price and an added bonus, their appetizers and desserts are incredible too. We usually take out but we’ve also eaten at the restaurant to. Any time we can’t think of what to do for dinner we always come to the same conclusion…..COTTON PATCH Thank you for being such an amazing place, for the fabulous food, the great staff, warm and comfortable atmosphere and for continuously making amazing food for us. November 16, 2024 ⭐️⭐️ The service was so slow . We had to constantly ask for things because our waiter didn’t think to check on us . When we did ask, she kept forgetting! It was beyond frustrating—I was about ready to go into the kitchen myself and get what I needed . On the bright side, the food and drinks were good , but that didn’t make up for the poor service. It’s hard to enjoy a meal when you’re constantly waiting or chasing down your server. Definitely not the best experience.

Got the viral triple dipper. Chicken tenders were amazing, so flavorful!! Mozzarella didn’t stretch the way I wanted it to, but still good. Service was slow. Bill was hard to settle since our waiter didn’t close the previous tables bill… please check your bill before paying

I spent almost $20 on my order. I wanted the Cajun Pasta with no meat, onions or tomato. So basically the noodles, Alfredo, Parmesan and Cajun seasoning. Well when I got my food I barely had any pasta. And it was very poorly made. It didn’t have Parmesan or Cajun season. It was just noodles and sauce. On top of that the garlic bread was very soggy and gross. Overall I’m very upset and disappointed.

The restaurant exterior and interior were clean and well-maintained. Only one host stood there when I entering the restaurant. She greeted me without any enthusiasm and energy. No smile at all. The bartender greeted me immediately when I approached the bar. The drink delivered in 4 minutes after the order placed. The bartender was friendly and polite. She came back to check on me for twice before I finished the drink.

Reluctant to enter but pleasantly surprised. Complete coffee section with coffee aroma. Bread section smells like fresh bread. Flower area fragrance of flowers. Who'da thunk?

Unfortunately I got the wrong food. I ordered the spinach and artichoke pasta with ALL shrimp NO chicken. I got all chicken, easy fix right? No, no one was willing to compensate me. Didn’t even need a refund just fixing the order would’ve been nice. Not sure who I spoke with but was disappointed that there was nothing anyone could do.
