Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar is a vibrant and inviting dining establishment that celebrates the art of comfort food with a modern twist. Nestled in the heart of the community…
Love this restaurant. The atmosphere is on the darker side, which I personally love. Started out with Bloody Mary's. They bring you the glass with ice and vodka, then you go to the Bloody Mary buffet bar to fix it how you like. It was so much fun and an extra plus with how it's set up. Next, we got the goat cheese fondue plate. Talk about yummy overload. My main meal came out and was not what was expected. I brought it up to the waiter, who was very nice and understanding. The manager even came over and apologized. They were going to make me another plate, but I said it was okay and just to take off the bill. I'm not mentioning the plate I ordered, nor a picture because they professionally fixed the issue. I will definitely be back and look forward to trying their fried green tomatoes.
A rich, moist cake topped with pecans and served with a caramel or toffee sauce over a creamy base. The combination of textures—from the crunchy nuts to the dense cake and smooth sauce—suggests a wonderfully indulgent bite. It’s definitely something that would satisfy a sweet tooth with its a flavorful blend of nutty and caramelized flavors. Amazing! The pasta is creamy and comforting, with a mix of fresh ingredients like spinach, diced tomatoes, chicken and generous shavings of Parmesan cheese on top. The sauce seems well-coated on the rigatoni, promising a satisfying, savory experience with each forkful. This dish is a perfect choice for anyone craving a hearty, creamy pasta. The deviled eggs have a creative twist, topped with crispy bits and garnished with herbs, giving them a fresh, visually appealing look. The duck wings are glazed in a thick, sticky sauce, garnished with red chili slices and sesame seeds, which likely adds a spicy kick. They bring bold flavors and are perfect for sharing. Overall this place never disappoints with the food. It’s delicious and the wait time even though the place was packed came out fast. The candles they sell are a smell good haven. The waiter wasn’t very good. He didn’t seem friendly or attentive. That’s the reason for 3 star service.
The food did not disappoint. From appetizers to entrees, everything was well-prepared and flavorful. We were particularly impressed by the freshness of the ingredients and the inventive pairing of dishes. The drinks were equally impressive, with a wide range of craft cocktails and whiskey selections that complemented the meal. Our server, Gabby, was fantastic—knowledgeable, personable, and attentive. She made excellent recommendations, and her familiarity with the menu made our dining experience all the more enjoyable. Her pleasant demeanor and professionalism stood out as a highlight of our visit. Unfortunately, the overall experience took a disappointing turn toward the end. After a leisurely afternoon of food and drinks, a manager approached us with an abrupt notice that we had just 10 minutes left to vacate the table. While we understand we had spent a fair amount of time dining, the tone and manner in which this message was delivered lacked tact and courtesy. Rather than offering us the option to move to the bar and continue our celebration, the manager’s approach felt rushed and dismissive, which dampened what had been a positive experience up to that point. Good food and great service were overshadowed by poor people skills and a lack of finesse in customer management. For a celebratory outing, you expect a level of hospitality that makes you feel welcome throughout the experience, and unfortunately, that wasn’t the case here. In the future, we’ll be looking to other options in the Katy area. We will not be returning to Whiskey Cake Kitchen.

The best thing was definitely the music which was played live by a keyboardist, and the drinks. We were excited to try this place but my sister-in-law and I was disappointed. The food was salty, the jambalaya was way too soft, almost mushy, garlic mashed potatoes tasted and looked like boxed mashed potatoes, lamb pops lacked flavor but were cooked to perfection, the snapper was good, the shrimp was okay but the stuffing was not good (I got both sauces available. We just weren't impressed at all. They also "ran out of veggies" which was odd, so we got no vegetables with our food. Razoo's definitely has better food which is crazy to say. The service, decor, and ambience were on point. That's what we felt we paid for because the food and the price don't match up. Drinks ordered: Elderflower French 75 Blueberry Martini Food ordered: Lambchop lollipops Red snapper Stuffed shrimp Rouxpour Sides w/the meal: Garlic mashed potatoes Jambalaya
This was our first visit to this restaurant. I found both the location, ambiance, and food to be great!!! The speed of service was good, and our server was very attentive. As you might have guessed, we will be making future visits to this location.
Such a beautiful location! We had so much fun on a ladies lunch. The staff was friendly and we even had a bonus because it was whiskey Wednesday so old fashioned whiskeys were discounted as well as “you call it’s”. Definitely coming back for the live music they have on Thursdays!

We’ve been here twice since moving to the neighborhood, and it’s quickly become a favorite. The location is convenient, the atmosphere is lovely, and the food is fantastic. What makes it even better is the play area for kids—such a thoughtful addition! Our toddler isn’t one to sit still or be entertained by screens, so having a space for him to run around after eating was a game-changer. Sitting outside and enjoying our meal while keeping him happy was such a relief. Highly recommend for families!
This is a great place. The restaurant is located in a community center. This restaurant is dog friendly on the patio. They have a conservatory that they can hold events in. There is an area for kids to play and run around. The food is excellent and the people are very friendly. The Oaks is located in a new community, and the service is very fast. You will enjoy the bar and atmosphere and location of this restaurant. It was an excellent experience .
Yummy reuben sandwich, gumbo was a touch too salty to our taste but fresh prawns and good italian sausage. Attentive and friendly service. Reasonable price with no tax added. Beautiful, clean, and comfortable setting. Easy free parking.

Had a hankering for fried fish and they have a $16.99 deal for 10 pieces every Friday. Found them on a FB ad. The place resembles a country store inside and out. The service staff was extremely pleasant and I ordered to go from the bar. My food came out fast and it was hot. The fish didn't have much seasoning on it but it was well fried. The fries were hot and had a good seasoning on them. It isn't a huge place and it was relatively full when I went... overall good place to go for country home feel.
Great cheese sticks, fried green tomatoes, and okra. Very good tea (with huge to go cups). Steak was extremely tender and cooked perfect except, sadly, tasted like gas from the grill. Friendly staff in a cool building and locale.
My party ordered the large chicken fried steak, the avocado burger, and Iced tea. The food came out fresh, just like you would expect in a country town cooking restaurant. The batter was light and crispy with rich salted pepper flavor, the mashed potatoes had SAVORY... brown gravy and the chicken fried steak had CREAMY white gravy. Both were amazing. Super delicious!....the butter toast was light and crispy on the edges. The Avacado burger was super delicious. The flavor and taste was what I would expect from a country dinner... the hamburger was big and was fresh and the meat was perfect and rich with 100 beef savory flavor. It includes bacon, avacado, mayonnaise, and lettuce. This was my first time to visit this restaurant, but I will definitely return very soon.

We had the special all you can eat catfish on Sunday. The special comes with fried catfish and fries only for $16.99. We also had the blackberry margarita. Unfortunately the fish was fried too had with little flavor. It was fresh though. The margarita was the bright spot. The boudain balls were spicy too. It was just okay. I will give it a second try for the beignet fries with a different entree.
I ordered the blackened shrimp alfredo. Although the taste was ok and the portion size was good, I was disappointed in that the pasta was soupy for $20. The sauce needs work! I was hoping that the sauce would be a bit creamier and thicker once I stuck my fork in, but it was soup! Nevertheless, the atmosphere and customer service was awesome. I will try this establishment again, but I will definitely be trying something else.
More than half of The bread pudding was rock hard. (Probably due to poor/uneven reheating). Also they didn’t follow my instructions not to put any sauce on the bread pudding. I ended up having to toss the whole thing. Overall, not a great experience. Update: manager made everything right and got me a new order that looked and tasted great!

Rainforest Cafe at Katy Mills is a fun, family-friendly dining experience with a tropical rainforest theme. Visitors love the animatronic animals, thunderstorm effects, and lively atmosphere, making it particularly enjoyable for kids. While the unique setting stands out, reviews mention that the food is decent but can be overpriced for the quality. Menu items include American favorites like burgers, seafood, and pasta. Service is generally friendly, though some reviews suggest long wait times during busy hours. Overall, it's a great spot for special occasions or family outings.
Our customer service experience was off the charts! Syorian was our server and she was absolutely amazing! She was extremely patient and kind! Will definitely recommend this location!
Very accommodating to our party of 18. Staff were very friendly and efficient. The food orders were hot and correct for our large crowd. Staff presented the Volcano bake to the bday girl in a fun and happy manner, and that was appreciated. There is an on-site gift shop with lots of cute forest-themed goodies. The youngest children in our group (2-3 years) were frightened of some of the rainforest jungle animal noises, but the same kids loved throwing pennies in the mechanical alligator's huge mouth of sharp teeth. Go figure. Expect to spend some money here!

Twas definitely a worth visit here! The manager Gabriella was so kind and nice! I ordered a brochette set of brie, apple & figs spread, fresh mozzarella tomato & basil, mushroom & mascarpone, and warm artichoke spread! Twas really good and personally I enjoyed the flavor here more than that one in Uptown. I ordered a cup of cucumber honey lemonade and it was refreshing and delicious Very delightful visit! Personally, mushroom one was the best of choice from savory ones and apple figs spread one was the best one from sweet ones! My girlfriend ordered also meatball shakashouka without meat since she is vegetarian as well but they did amazing substitute with some veggies! They are just amazing! Additionally, we ordered sweet n'spicy pepper jam & goat cheese, Mexican street corn, ricotta dates & pistachio and mushroom. They were all good! Love it! Keep up the good work, Postino!!!! Cheers
Ambiance is very good phone hanging on walls reminds of 90’s and antique in mic if bookshelf look. Good but limited selection of cocktails and good cocktails. Beer selection is limited too however they have large selection of wine. When it comes to food it’s has unique Menu. Unique way of serving and decorating dishes but a food item main strength is taste which is totally missing as you can only taste salt not just a little extra but too extra. In repeat order we specifically asked for reduce the salt but it went unheard and issue is not just with one dish but all may it be bruschetta, artichoke dip, mushroom soufflé, grilled cauliflower (blend on top, salty sauce in bottom), hummus plate all just salt it appeared is the only taste. Now coming to kids menu simplest dist of all time even a 8yrs old could cook grilled cheese sandwich was raw from inside cheese ice cold none of the 5 kids 3 plates we order ate uncooked so called grilled sandwich. Waitress said to call the manager which never showed up. 1 star is only for the wine selection list.
This place is a hidden gem, it was truly amazing and unexpected. Jackson was a wonderful waiter and helped us enjoy our first visit. Will definitely come back. Highly recommend.

This is a great restaurant, from what I know one of the best in Katy. Great atmosphere and service. The food is really good. A great crab cake. The fillet is amazing. Next time I will try the fish main dish. Desserts are good too. They have a great variety of wines!
Came here straight from the airport after a long day of travel. We had the blue point oysters, beef carpaccio, Texas gumbo, wedge salad, braised short ribs and creamed spinach. The atmosphere was comfortable and lively. We were seated in a booth by the open kitchen. I personally enjoy watching the kitchen and seeing how well everyone works together and also how clean and organized they are. The dining room was noisy and you could barely hear the music over the conversations, but my husband and I were still able to talk without yelling. I think the clear dividers between each booth might have helped. Our server, Ismael, was excellent! He was polite and friendly, without seeming fake. He created a relaxing and fun experience for us. He paid attention to our table without being intrusive and our food was served and timed perfectly. Everything we had was delicious and the portions were just right for us. The only thing I’d say could use some improvement was the braised short rib. The risotto was slightly undercooked and grainy, but the flavor was delicious. The short rib was tender and moist, but I wished it had more depth of flavor. More beefy flavor. The pricing for the dishes were very reasonable to us and didn’t seem overpriced, which we really appreciated. Overall, it was a very nice dining experience, especially after a long day of traveling. Wish we lived closer, we’d definitely be regulars at this restaurant.
First time here and the atmosphere was good the decorations were cute but my server Ricardo was very dry. Asking for recommendations or what’s good on the menu was terrible just get a response back as it’s whatever you want to try or in the mood for. I love corn truffle but I was unsatisfied with it due to it having so much garlic in it. I had to ask for water to be refilled. It was just not a good experience.

The place is small but cozy. The vibe is very laid back. Service could be taken up a notch. The server was extremely polite but could pay better attention to drinks running low and clearing dirty dishes off the table. Food was okay, very fresh slightly higher than I would expect for what was served, but freshness is definitely a 5 star!! I think their service held them back from a 5 star all around. Definitely stop in and judge for yourself.
Having recently moved to Houston after 10 years in Buenos Aires I was really hopeful that this place would fill the homesickness I had been feeling and man did it ever!! Empanadas were really juicy and tasty, perfectly cooked milanesa and to finish it off the classic chocotorta. Really great flavors, excellent service and felt right at ‘home’.
The food was wonderful. The meats were perfectly prepared. Ordered the Argentinas platter. The sausages had a perfect snap to the casing. The blood sausage was rich, creamy, and meaty. The chicken was lightly seasoned and tender with a perfect char grill flavor, as were the meats. The bottom sirloin melted in your mouth with succulent perfection. The chimimchurri sauce was as fresh as could be imagined and so flavourful. We used it all up. I'm eager to return with other friends and try another platter of meats soon.

On November 25, 2024 me and my wife came to eat at this establishment for the first time. The staff kind and welcoming. The food, service, and atmosphere was very nice. The food here is delicious!!! We both enjoyed our meals, and plan to come back. It was a great experience! 5 stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Late Lunch among three of us and all really enjoyed the experience and food very much. Chicken Fried Steak w Jalapeno gravy with Fries and Green Beans as my sides were excellent. The CFS remained crispy, served piping hot and every bite was tender inside. (This is a top 10 CFS of all-time for me- nice work Mia's!) Fries were above average and the green beans left me wanting for more. The grilled chicken and meat loaf were hits at the table, along with the mashed potatoes. The self-serve ice cream machine is worth a visit too. There are cups or cones. Mia's Table gave me a sort of Diner Vibe and was very pleasant. Will definitely return enthusiastically. Highly recommended.
Update. 2 hours later the salt hit me. How much salt are they putting in their food? Chicken fried steak. Back from 2 weeks in Puebla, Mexico. Winding down my CFS explore of greater Katy brought me to the group recommended Mia’s off Kingsland. Terrific crunch. Tender meat. Spicy gravy. Good sides. Saltiness was just tolerable for my personal taste. Pity. I like less salt, so this is probably a one time visit. Fine sides though the green beans were oily for my personal taste, and I wouldn’t get them again. Toast as a side garnish, not as a grease absorber . About $25. Update: 2 hours later, the salt really hit me. Crazy thirst. How much salt do they put in that steak?

This was my first time here and it was an absolute awesome experience. The food was delicious!! The service was impeccable Our server Natalia was professional, sweet, and made recommendations. I also met a young man who worked at the take-out area named Semi, who was so pleasant, professional, helpful, funny, and even gave us suggestions. It was so refreshing to see young people who cared about their work. I can't recall the exact names of the dishes we had but one was the goat cheese appetizer with garlic toast, grilled chicken with the most delicious sauce ever (it may be called Anaheim sauce ), and the other was the salmon dish which I couldn't get enough of. 10 out of 10 recommend you try it this place.
We were there last night for dinner. We had spinach and artichoke dip for appetizer and local farmers market salad, Gyros plate, Chipotle chicken wrap, and lemon pasta. All the foods were amazing and delicious. For dessert we shared a carrot cake and Homemade Croissant Bread Pudding. We enjoyed everything we had. Our waitress was very attentive and polite. Unfortunately I forgot her name. I highly recommend this place.
This is a fantastic place to dine in, accommodating both small and large groups comfortably. Their expansive menu is impressive, with a wide variety of options inclusive for vegans and an extensive selection for kids as well. The food is outstanding, and the customer service is top-notch. The ambience is very pleasant, making it a great spot for any celebration or a casual dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a versatile and enjoyable dining experience!

Food was great, ambiance was nice, marinera sauce was amazing as well as Alfredo. Service was super disappointing. Our waiter was maybe bored out of his mind or seemed like he was one foot outside the door. My mom got the garlic and oil veggie pasta she said was very bland. All the plates were cute. And the people helping in the kitchen were nice. I wish we had a different server and would have felt comfortable for my mom to ask for something different. Everything was fresh and home made. Would prob order to go when I go back.
Really great place for dinner. I think next time I'll leave the kids at home since it's a pretty small dinning room. The food takes a while to come out but is very flavorful. I think the only dish we had was kinda not that great was my son's spaghetti and meatballs. Meatballs tasted like sam's club meat balls and they werent even hot. My seafood pasta was great and my wife got the filet gnocchi which was also great. Service was a tad slow and our waiter didn't really go in depth what the specials are, kinda rushed thru it. Overall food was great so that's what really matters. If I could change something, I'd avoid the spaghetti with meatballs and maybe ask for the filet to be medium or med rare.
This restaurant is excellent, from service to quality of the food. The sauce remembers an Italian sauce. However, you are in an Italian American restaurant, so the size of the entrees is big. We ordered an antipasto, and to be honest, we barely ate the entree because we were full. I will skip the antipasto and go directly to the main one. But you can take out the remaining food if you would like to.

Brenda H. was our server today and she was awesome! Excellent customer service and made us feel so welcome! The food was also incredible! Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a cute and friendly breakfast, lunch, or even dinner spot!
Such a disappointment! We had breakfast delivered and the biscuits were so hard we could not eat the outside of them. The gravy that came with them didn’t even cover half of it. We ordered extra gravy and did not get it. Bacon was ALL burnt (black). Breakfast sandwich was mostly egg, had very little meat. Very disgusting meal. The price we paid for this meal we expected much better.
Great service, fast and friendly server, good was delicious and servings were filling.

We celebrated my sister's birthday at this South African restaurant. I would say it's truly a gem we found. As soon as we walked in I loved the ambiance, there was a live singer on Friday evening, we got there for 6:30. There were a few tables sitting & a private room with action. Gradually, it filled up pretty nicely. We really enjoyed the food, we were surprised to know it was Houston Restaurant week so we explored that menu. We were able to enjoy 3 wonderful courses. One amazing thing about our visit besides our waiter Emanuel was that the owner, Chef Casey came to visit our table & said "Welcome Home," he asked how we were doing & to see if we were enjoying our entrees. He spent some good time chatting with more people who patronize his establishment. That was a nice touch to add to the already great vibes! All of our food was delicious & full of flavor. I'm already plotting my return, going on a solo visit.
First time customer and I was blown away by the cozy environment, great hospitality, and amazing food. We came for dinner during Houston Restaurants Weeks and tried out this place and were blown away by the amazing experience. The restaurant even had a gentleman singing old-school songs like Sinatra and dressed the part, which set things perfectly. Our server was gracious and joyous, thank you D! And the food was truly amazing, the flavors were both new without being too overwhelming to a foreigner trying African food. I asked for a spicy sauce on the side and it did not disappoint. Definitely our new venue to visit for years to come. The Chef is truly a master of his craft, I cannot praise the meal enough. And a special recognition to the bartender, one of the best whisky sours I've tasted.
We had such a wonderful time at the restaurant. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great with a saxophone musician, and the staff were helpful in picking the best food and drinks for the guests. We love how the Chef and owner came to greet each table and often held the door for guests as they exited. If the food is new to you- give it a try! The experience and support of this restaurant and chef is totally worth it. I had the steak on a kabob and every bite was fantastic. The cheesecake and seis leches cake- we'll be back for more! Had the house margarita with mango and a strawberry lemon drop Martini - drinks were great. They even had a little coat tree for our purses! We loved it and you will too!

What makes a five-star restaurant? Because this isn't the best Italian restaurant I've ever been, this isn't a restaurant I'll travel to have again and yet...it's everything I wanted. Conveniently located, exceptional service, and the most resonable price. Now I'm back on the road, full & happy.
Food tasted very good. My salmon was a bit overcooked but overall grilles veggies and salmon was seasoned well. We also had penne vodka which tasted amazing. The chicken Alfonso tasted good as well. Atmosphere was OK, bit outdated. Service was great. Appetizers stuffed mushrooms and bruschetta all tasted pretty good. Will come again.
Great spot for some great Italian food. We have been coming here for a few years now. It's always good.
