Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Houston – 2024

My wife and I went to the Palm for our 31st Wedding Anniversary. We had 3lb lobster half's, and asparagus. The lobster was delicious all the way from the waters of Nova Scotia Canada water. The service was excellent. Kiley and Anthony were absolutely fabulous with their service. The GM showed us around and gave us the history of the Palm. The atmosphere was warm and very inviting.

We were seated promptly and took our appetizers and drinks order in a very timely order. Few minutes after the arrival of the appetizers and drinks we ordered our food. I got a fillet medium rare, lobster bisque and already knew my dessert which was NY Cheesecake with Raspberry Syrup. Bisque arrived first and it was the right temperature and delicious and then came the Fillet. It was medium rare and succulent and delicious. The cheesecake was also great! Great Ambiance and service. No complaints there!

Incredible meal, I had scallops and they were so amazing. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The lobster bisque is one of the best I’ve ever had. Our server was extremely attentive and treated us well. We had a wonderful time, everyone’s steak was delicious and all enjoyed.

My family and I went here for a birthday dinner and Bobby was our server. He was very nice and did an amazing job taking care of us. The restaurant itself is beautiful and decked out in all types of Christmas decoration. The food is delicious and we had a great time. They also gave us a photo at the end of the meal.

We love this place!!! My husband and I shared the ribeye and my mother-in-law had tortilla soup and salad. You can get in line online, but we came on a whim. It was so worth the wait!!! It was very nicely decorated for the holidays, and there were comfortable places to wait both inside and outside! Our server, Mikah, was excellent!!!

This sushi bar is highly recommended. I came in with my friends the day of the fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson (unfortunately the signal was bad so we were unable to see it, but the service and food made up for this). We had the luck to come in during happy hour—a worthwhile opportunity, which you will find in one of the pictures I posted. The drinks are high quality, as well as the food. At night, the ambience is dark with illumination that highlights the elegant dark-and-red themes of RA. Plenty of parking is available (valet is optional). Prices are reasonable, spending an average of $45 per person (again, during happy hour).

Such a classy vibe. The service is great, food is delicious, and drinks are lovely. The lobster spring rolls were a nice appetizer and definitely recommend the spicy crispy rice with tuna. We really enjoyed the Viva Las Vegas roll and the gojira roll. Everything was so delicious! Will definitely be going back when I’m in town. Now for my standard comments. Location is very clean and seating is comfortable. There’s an open area by the windows and balcony so there’s always fresh air throughout the restaurant.

This place is one of the trendiest sushi place near med center that I had the pleasure of visiting. The sushi was of high quality at a really great price. The drinks were good and esthetically presented. The ambience and service was equally wonderful. I would recommend this place to my friends.

I’ve been to this A&W several times, each time having a different feeling. The build recently got renovated and looks great. Service is alright and the place is pretty clean. The only down side is the quality of the food. Even the worst of my McDonald experience are much better in food. The place has gone through dozens of mangers so it’s always changing. The drive is a mess... Awfully slow and screwed up orders is terrible when your in a hurry. The upside is the friendly and welcome staff. This is the only fast food is Houston. It has its ups and downs. If you really want a good experience, you might want to wait till you get to the next town

Nice enough staff. But hit or miss with order accuracy. Had a big confusion, with refund after they suggested I change my order because of excessive wait on a different burger. So I did and got the wrong change, then got shorted a patty on my double. Wasn't worth the hassle to go back in. However, wildlife in the Drive- thru, priceless Canadiana. Ate it and drove onwards...could be worse.

The onion rings were fresh and gets a star. The staff were nice and they get a star. But dang someone went crazy with the amount of mayo in our burgers. I scooped out a dipping cup sauce full and there was still plenty for the burger.

I've been to a lot of places in BC, and there is no Veggie burger better than this one made at Mixer's. Top notch and simply the best. Of course, the service is second to none. Thank you, I always come back for the best veggie burger in this universe.

We stopped in for dinner while spending a few nights in Houston. The burgers were good, the service was prompt, and the place has a fun atmosphere. I liked that they had local (Smithers) beer on tap. We weren't in for one of their events nights, but it looks like they put on a lot of fun events. I'd recommend stopping in.

Stopped by for lunch while we were in town from the recommendation of one of the employees at the Smithers visitor centre. Good drinks & food, had lots of board games & pool tables also.

American traversing Canada. I stopped in before heading up the Casiar Hwy 37. The staff was very friendly, the coffee was well above average (I had 2 refills). All of the food was fresh and delicious. Warning: the 1/2 order of fresh fruit I added to my scramble was A Lot of fruit. Crispy and yummy. The scrabble was excellent as well. (I didn't need lunch or snacks today)

Pleasantly surprised by this little diner serving "Canadian" fare. The food was delicious (we ordered burgers) and well priced. The service was excellent - friendly, prompt, and helpful with suggestions on the menu. Portion sizes were generous (one slice of pie was plenty to share). A lovely stop on a long day of driving. Would highly recommend!

Very friendly staff. Our sandwiches were made quickly. Tasted great. Nice to have something different while on a road trip and wanting to get back driving.

Only place to get something to eat on 9th street. The busy place in town. They don’t only have Mr sub in the building though. Canadian two for one, little grocery store and dollar store, and a movie rental. It’s quite a hand full for one building. It’s the only place with a dollar store in town. Grocery’s are handy if you’re picking up pizza. Also the only you can get pizza in Houston. Subs are alright. Pizzas a little greasy Theres always new staff there so they don’t know what their doing half the time.

The local subway workers at the Houston BC location are friendly, attentive, and careful with your food. I was genuinely so impressed and appreciative when we got subs for dinner, I got mine grilled and the workers took time and engery to make sure I didn't lose any ingredients in the grill, or during cutting my sandwich, I will be a return customer for a long time.

I personally love subway! I go to this specific subway a lot. They eventually learned my “Usual” so they know what I would want to order. Staff is super friendly and I got to know them quite well. Place is pretty clean and highly maintained. The subs are great, personal favourite is Steak and Cheese. Thus making my subway experience a good one. I hope yours is as well ❤️

Lunch stop with my boys. Generally I don't like Subway as it always feels like you're being pressured down the factory line, but here the staff was great and friendly, we weren't rushed and the food was good. Thumbs up.

Best selection of snacks and food here, I live in burns lake at least 45 minutes away but always worth the trip, pizza, fried chicken, subs, baked goods my favorite is the frozen yogurt mixed with fruits of your choice. I recommend stopping here if you're hungry or have the munchies …

Such a variety of products you will not be disappointed in stopping g here. Chicken combo's, 2for1 pizza, subs, ice cream and so much more..

Just a weirdly wonderful small town general store with surprisingly good fried chicken

Another one of Houston’s Chinese Western Restaurants that has build its respect and reputation over the years, yet still strives to impress! The Idylwild Restaurant has been in Houston for many years. The previous owner that had owned the place for who knows how many years has left and there is now a new owner. It’s great to see them carry on their legacy. Food is absolute, personally I really enjoy their chow mein and deep fried prawns. Solid prices as it is pretty close to the competition. Service is very friendly, acknowledges your presence and non reminded refills. The place is open and very bright making you feel very cozy. I am glad to see this place still running and I’m always open to coming back.

I am really disappointed with the food that I received this evening especially at the expense of the meals. Usually I find the quality of the food average but passable but over the coarse of a few orders the food has declined. Tonight we ordered 2 of the single dinner combos and this will be my last order. The prawns were average as well as the almond chicken. The bulk of the meal being chow mein was very dry and resembled poorly flavored add hot water instant Mr Noodle bowls.

Ive eaten here several times in the last couple years. Food quality is always top notch. No they dont seem to have dine in anymore. Yes the woman who runs it is very abrupt. Yes sometimes the wait time for take out is very long and that dose not work with the instant gratification everyone wants nowadays, but there is a reason for that long wait time. It's probably the best chinese food ive eaten outside of the lower mainland in the last 10 years and extremely consistent. Try the black pepper beef chow mein.

For a small town store they have one of the best gluten free selections I have found. Every thing from baked goods to special items. There is also an abundance of ethnic foods available. Worth a stop if you are looking for variety.

As if it weren't bad enough that the store is nearly in-operable, never has what is advertised and we are clearly being price-gouged and taken advantage of. But the management here clearly are simply not good people. With all the hurt Ive heard them causing families here and the inability to respond to any reviews not made by their own employees, they clearly do not intend to improve. They will continue to look down their nose at our town, while trying to keep it afloat just long enough that they can retire before the store finally gets shut down as the chain's worst preforming location, and they will move back to their hometowns, which are nowhere near here. All so a few old women can compete to see who gets to put their face on the wall of a store nobody wants to be in. We all know who I'm talking about.

I heard after they fired that new deli guy, he gave them such an earful that half the management quit in embarassment not long after. I knew they'd try their games on the wrong person eventually. How is it that half the town has worked there at some point and nobody has anything good to say? They're running out of people to take advantage of.

I've been to around 100 locations and this is by far the best Tim Hortons I've ever been to. Food was amazing and damn I didn't think the coffee could somehow taste better. Kudos to this location keeping the hockey stick door handle. It's a nice touch.

I got cliantro chicken rap . It was barely cooked and was not fresh, look like cooked yesterday . Rap was sticking to paper . Drive thru staff service was ridiculous.

First time trying Lil Avas in Houston. Love lil Avas in Prince George but I have to be honest, this pizza from Houston is just a bit better and I didn't think that was possible. Nice crispy crust and heavy loaded with toppings. I'm very impressed and glad we stopped on our way home to Smithers.

Houston needed a new restaurant, and this is an awesome addition to the town. We ordered their opening night, and we were pleasantly shocked at how efficient they were on their first night of operations. The pizza was the best pizza in town, and the lasagna was far better than from other restaurants here. We will definitely be ordering on a regular basis!! Well done, Lil Avas' thank you!!!

Enjoyed a quick and delicious lunch here while in Houston. Enjoyed a yummy Thai Noodle Bowl and a Latte. Quick service and reasonable price.

A gem of a place and a gluten free paradise. On route from Prince George to Smithers we were looking for somewhere to stop and have a drink and saw the cafe out of the corner of my eye in Houston. What a find! Lovely service and lovely GF cakes in a lovely spot. Would highly recommend a stop!

Great sandwich and mocha and atmosphere, the only negative is having the drink served in a paper cup ☹️

Great coffee at 450 am and chicken ceasar wrap was loaded with real chicken and a meal in itself.

Bought a calzone brought it home was pretty much a loaf of bread with couple little pieces of meat in the middle. Last time I was there someone new was making food got a loaded donair brought it home had nothing on it but meat and lettuce got a Mexi wrap beef it was cold. Won't be going back there again.

Delicious fancy coffees (Double Aloha Mocha) and cookies! Love their lunch specials too; whether it's a soup and sandwich combo or pasta/garlic bread/salad combo. Cozy atmosphere and super friendly staff. AMAZING staff! My coworkers and I are regulars and ordered an afternoon coffee around 3:15. When we looked at the clock again "five minutes later", it was five minutes after closing. Alyssa sweetly brought them to us.

Normally I like the food from this place but was highly disappointed when the husband came home with a family size order of fries that didn’t even fill the container but wouldn’t be a serving for a family…. Hoping the portions get better!

Customer service is horrible. Twice now they have made the wrong pizza with zero compensation for my time waiting. If you look at pizza pizza in vanderhoof you get 2 pizzas pop and dip for the same price as 1 medium pizza at canadian 1 for 1. In canada 2 for 1 means you get 2 for the price of 1. Your logo even shows two pizza boxes on it!!!!!! 24 bucks for one pizza Is a total rip off!!!!!! you should also fix the parking lot as it's disgusting.
