Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Hawkesbury – 2024

Coming back from the movies…out of town , I had put an order online for 2 pizzas. I ordered the special buy one get one for 1$…(fajitas pizza and peperroni for the second one).unfortunately i had paid for extra green peppers (2$ extra) on my first pizza which was chicken fajitas…it was missing the red onions and red peppers?!?? So I paid 25$ for a medium pizza that only had green peppers and chicken on it..Once home I wasn’t going back to the hut!!! I had specifically put a time to pick it up as we were on the road It was ready on time, both our pizzas were very soft and looked like they were in their oven like reheater for at least 30 min….the crust was soggy on both pizzas. and of course one was missing 2 ingredients….nevertheless to say….when i got to the hut…no one was to be found….for at least 2 min…All the staff was in the back…CHILLING ?!? no one was to be found…I got worried wondering if my order got in…sorry but this is not acceptable !! Never again will I waste my precious money on such poor service! ….and the person who finally came to the front had the audacity to tell me to fill the survey online as I could get a free pizza!! I cant wait to receive it…to me this is unacceptable, especially with the economic crisis we are in!! Sorry the hut but you have lost a customer!

I was very impressed. I just called to place my order .super polite & friendly and pizzas arrived on time . I think I found my favorite pizza place in town! thanks guys!

Yikes. Complete chaos. I waited in-store 35 minutes for pickup. Zero communication between staff. It was disorganized chaos. Staff was swearing and threatening to walk-out. Very unpleasant. Won't be returning.

Food is old and not fresh meat taste like little wet dog bacon has green and brun colors ,fruit a roden with brown spot and smell like old cheese and was overprice to expensive for not fresh food not recommended , waitress are rude

Best service, great atmosphere, very friendly and welcoming staff members. As visitors to the city Nikki made our evening by her Friendly, polite and fast service attitude. The food is so good, well prepared and served. We couldn't have asked for more. I definitely recommend anyone visiting the city to pay Carole's a visit and they will find something they like in addition to high level of customers service.

We've been going to Carole's for the pizza for decades. When it was sold recently the owners said they would not change the recipes of the pizza but well, they lied. The key ingredient was the tomoto sauce, this is what brought us back for more. The pizza now is fine, it tastes just okay but not only does the sauce seem different it's almost impossible to find. Does sauce cost that much?? Unfortunately we can no longer recommend this resto for the pizza and they have lost at least 3 very long term customers.

A great place to grab lunch in the Hawkesbury area. I had their fish and chips which was delicious and not too oily. The serving size was generous and the price was reasonable. The service was fast and friendly. Note that they only accept cash or e-transfer.

An excellent little secret of Hawkesbury. Great service, good food and wow for the price make sure to bring your appetite. Will be going there again for sure.

Took my family here for breakfast before heading to Plattsburgh to do some US shopping. It is a very small place. More like a house converted into a restaurant. Service was quick, waitress was extremely friendly. Breakfast was good. I thought the meat (balogna) was cut too thing and the home fries was too small of a portion. My daughter had a pancake and it was very thin.

I've gone twice and both times have been unmatched. The food is delicious with large portions, my friend and I could easily share every dish without still being hungry, and the staff are all lovely. The atmosphere is nice and calm, helped also by how friendly everyone always is, the workers always have genuine looking smiles and give great service. The food itself had many options, all of which were amazing and for a very reasonable price. 11/10 would recommend.

A perfect addition to our town. The food was fresh, tasty & light. The staff are so friendly & kind. The offer dine in & take out. We look forward to trying more item on the menu, will definitely return again.

Stopped in on my way through town. Anyone looking for authentic Thaï, this is the place. Portions are quite large. They could easily lower the portion size and charge the same. Saw several people leave with takeout boxes. I had the wings (A1), Khao Soi Noodle Soup (amazing, with chilli on the side), and tapioca pudding (good). Should have gone for the mango desert. Next time!

I had an absolutely amazing experience at this Thai Express! The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly spiced to my liking. Everything I tried was delicious—from the classic Pad Thai to the rich and creamy Green Curry. The portion sizes were generous, and the presentation was spot on. The staff was friendly, efficient, and ensured that everything was prepared quickly without sacrificing quality. The restaurant had a clean and welcoming atmosphere, making it a pleasant place to enjoy a meal. Whether you're dining in or taking out, Thai Express never disappoints. This soup is so delicious and the ingredients are very fresh. Although I had to queue for a while at noon, the food was served very quickly!

Stopped here while in the area, great food, great service and very clean restaurant. You can tell by the upkeep that the owners take good care of the business and customers. Would definitely recommend them if you're in the area.

A warm, comfortable, cozy restaurant. Huge portions - the small poutine was incredibly filling, and the Goodies sub was huge. Well worth the money spent. I highly recommend if you're in the area.

We arrived and were greeted kindly. The daily special was tasty and the portions were huge. So yummy! A must stop to quench your hunger and thirst. We were grateful to have our food be brought out to us while we tended our plants inside the U-Haul lol. Top notch place

Stopped for mid morning snacks, had a lovely fruit platter with bagel and cream cheese. Coffee was good. Friendly service. Good value for money.

Great food very good service! Our long hair waiter was excellent! The chicken wings were perfectly moist and juicy! The pork ribs were very also excellent! The pudding chomeur was delicious! Would do that again! All topped off with light a Beaus Lug-thread light which was served very cold!

Food was mid. The ribs were the best tasting items on the menu followed by the brisket. The side dishes were very bland and I wouldn’t recommend wasting money on them. The Mac and cheese was absolutely disgusting and lacking all sorts of seasoning and flavors. I expected creamy, salty goodness and instead I got something that tasted less flavorful than Kraft microwave mac and cheese. The tables are extremely sticky and we tried to clean them with the napkins and water but they remained very sticky and very unpleasant to touch. The bathrooms were also very dingy with no toilet paper (had to search for a roll under the baby changing station). Wait staff was nice.

MEGA BIG shoutout to the Moonshine pit master!!! Been there twice in 2 weeks...and we think that it rivals Texan, Florida and Carolinas' BBQ, except it is way closer to home. So good. The brisket, the BRISKET!!! Burnt ends or regular. Both are so amazing. Thick slices and bite after bite, it just desintegrates in your mouth. Don't forget to baptise each bite in their sauce. Perfect!! Bark is there, smoke is there, beefy taste and so moist...aaaaah. watery mouthful with each bite. So sad that most people don't understand how hard it is to make good brisket but we know. Respect, Moonshine. Very close 2nd fav are the pork ribs. Fall off the bone, finger licking, tangy, sweet, smokey goodness. Someone needs to GMO pork to add at least 20 ribs on each side of that beast and give them all to Moonshine pitmaster to cook. Pulled pork is great! Good chunks of meat, Great sauce but you can still taste the smoked pork (shoulder, I would imagine). Def eating it by the mouth full. No shame. Chicken is very good too and not dry but it is def outshined by everything else. We still eat that sucker to the bone. Nothing left! Corn bread. C'mon! So good. They look so inoffensive because they so small but pack awesome taste and just perfect dry/moist. I would pop as many as they give me. Coleslaw rarely gets mentioned, but it is so so good. The perfect crunchy and cool refreshing bite between watery mouthful of meat. Thanks for loving good smoke and good meat the way we do. The food is amazing!!! Keep it coming, my friends! We'll keep going whenever we can. (Sorry. We have 0 pics of the actual food because we were so excited that we forgot to take pics each time. We dug in as soon as the food came...)

Ordered a few times from here so far for delivery and the price does not match the quantity/quality. $15 for this portion size of calamari is disappointing, and the sauce should be a tzatziki instead of sweet chili. Thankfully, I’m one that prefers a sauce instead of no sauce at all, so I’m able to eat it at least. Probably would not try for delivery again.

We usually orders from North End in Cornwall, which they have worked with the previous founder and owners of the Vieux Chateau their pizza's are thick with a lots of toppings when we decided to give a try we tried last time was on July 1st of 2020 the pizza was 1/10 very disapointed this wasnt up to my standard. When i ordered this one my bf went to pick it up it was 1 inch of cheese and a paper thin pizza no dough almost and too much sauce like way too much. The standards from previous owners for pizza was way different ingredients changed very cheap. Also the chef that has worked there for 25 years quit so things changes and the food standards are not what they used too. They should go back to the old recipes. Also Mario should be rehire to put this kitchen in order!! Their soups,sauces everything was top notch when Mario was there. This is what our pizza looked like.

Le Vieux Chateau is our "go-to" restaurant for breakfast. We have tried other area restaurants...but.......With the Chateau, we have never been disappointed. Staff friendly and fast service with many coffee refills at no extra cost.

Had a nice lunch with fresh seafood and it was delicious. I recommend you go to this restaurant when you are around. It is worthy and reasonable price. You won’t regret it.

We meet at Stephanie’s Grill and Bar for lunch two to three times a year, as it's conveniently located halfway for all of us. We genuinely want to enjoy the food, but it has been a struggle, especially in the last year. On our most recent visit, we ordered club sandwiches, hoping that such a classic would be a safe choice. Unfortunately, they arrived stone cold, and the coleslaw was soggy. We really want to keep returning, as the location is perfect for our family gatherings, but we’re left wondering what to order that they do well. If anyone has recommendations for dishes that consistently impress, we would greatly appreciate your input!

We haven’t eaten at St Hubert in years and took a chance passing through to the cottage. The food was over cooked. My meal was cold as it sat on the pass while waiting for my husband’s fish and chips to cook. The service was also terrible. The employees were having more fun together than providing a pleasant experience. Tables weee dirty while they were laughing in the back and the bathrooms disgusting. The price was also abhorrent. $50 for a leg meal and a fish and chips meal. I will NEVER again come here or to any other St. Hubert for that matter.

St-Hubert has really let itself go.... The ambiance of a draufty restaurant sitting on plastic chairs was disappointing. There was only a trickle of lukewarm sauce in the dispenser to go with the warmish food served on wet plastic trays. The service at the cash was cold and mechanical. They hire young people, probably to save on fees, no smiling waitresses, none of the charm that made St-Hubert what it was. Only industrialized chain production with no soul. And they dare ask for a tip when you pay.... THE SAME PRICE as any other St-Hub. I left there enbittered at what that chain has let itself become. Will not return

Disgusting overpriced mess! Staff sneezed didnt wash her hands then proceeded to touch cups and food meant for customers... Food was cold and it was overall a terrible lunch meal. My poor mom took me out after a hospital visit to cheer me up and she kept apologizing profusely for taking me there... 50$ for 2 people for lunch combos... cold and disgusting and it made me upset my mom felt bad for this. She was trying to do a nice thing and this restaurant ruined it completely...will NEVER go back and have told people i know to avoid this location at all costs unless you want snot with your food...

We want to extend a huge thank you to the owner of pizza pizza for their incredibly kind and generous gesture during our recent strike. When we were in need of support and feeling the weight of our cause, they showed up with pizza for our entire group. It was a much-needed act of kindness that lifted our spirits and kept us energized. The pizza was absolutely delicious, It’s genuine support for workers, and we’re so grateful. We’ll definitely be back for more, and we encourage others to check them out as well! Thank you for standing with us.

I’m not from the area and got this to go. I ate half of it when my stomach started turning. The bacon in my food was not cooked at all and half were hard chunks of fat not bacon slices. My stomach reacts very fast to food with bacteria in it and now I’m just hoping the side I ate didn’t have as much bacon in it as the second half I inspected. I called to let them know and I’m not happy about this at all. They offered me a new one. Being 45 minutes away and not trusting their ability to know bacon doesn’t cook inside dough like that obviously I said no. They then offered me $5 as a refund. Keep in mind the cost of this was $11. When you make a mistake like uncooked meat sent to your customers you should really have damage control set in place and some compassion. $5 refund is insulting and I’m sure corporate will agree especially if this turns into salmonella poisoning or worse.

Worst customer experience ever! Watch out if you’re not french enough for them, you’ll end up being treated like trash. Food’s pretty basic and overpriced. These people definitely don’t deserve this beautiful location. They could have a million dollar business if they just tried to treat people with kindness. We were a 7 people party including 2 seniors and 3 children. Asked for an open umbrella table to enjoy the view while we had lunch and these lady answered in a very unpleasant way that they can’t open the umbrellas. Just when we finish our pretty basic lunch they open one of the umbrellas for a couple just came in.

We had lunch on the patio this past Sunday, and it was pretty amazing. Sun was shining, food was delicious, and the service was fantastic. (Thank you Melanie, you made our day with your great service, and warm smiles). The drive from Rockland was great, and so worth it. I am sure this will be one of our favourite places.

Absolutely the worse experience to date. The customer service was non existent. Did not receive the food we ordered and when we told them, they got upset and no apologies. Food was absolutely awful and over cooked. Chicken tasted like chalk and salad was floating in oil. Soooo disappointed. Live and learn, will never recommend or go back there ever!!! They don’t deserve to be on the water

New to the area, I ordered delivery from Uber Eats to try their food as recommended. The prices were insanely expensive, especially the delivery fee for a local restaurant. But the food really was what the main thing was. I wasn't in the restaurant so there's no need to review atmosphere and service. The onion rings were delicious, I actually prefer them over A&W which WERE my favourite. The poutine on the other hand wasn't as good. The cheese was very thick and chunky, I couldn't even finish it. I don't think there was even any gravy at all in terms of taste. Burger was alright, but not worth the price. For 2 of us it was $80...

They took extra precautions to make sure i had a safe meal (seafood allergy) . Service was quick and pleasant. The waitress greeted us with a smile upon our arrival. We were a group of 4 with all different orders and everything was delicious! Highly recommend trying the pea soup! It was delicious! The portions are of a good size and the salads were very fresh! Will definitely have our business again !

Absolutely amazing staff, service. By far, the best pizza I've had in over 20 years. 7 hour drive away from home and very much worth the drive meeting a wonderful woman who introduced me to your restaurant. I will definitely be back again, sooner than later. Met some amazing new friends
