Casa Paolo is a vibrant and welcoming establishment dedicated to providing an exceptional dining experience infused with authentic Italian flavors. Located in the heart of the c…
️⚧️ ️ Rating restaurants is always difficult due to the potential for so many things to go wrong. It has been years since I last dined at Casa Paolo here in Cornwall, so I thought I would give it another go. My bi-annual craving for a proper steak and previous experience told me I couldn't go wrong at Casa Paolo. I was not disappointed. It was a Tuesday evening and uncrowded as I stood in the entry waiting. I was given a once-over look by the greeter, and I was asked to be seated between the front doors until the couple ahead of me were attended to. It was a hot, humid day, and the entryway was not air-conditioned, so I hoped the wait would be brief, and it was. It felt somewhat odd to be asked to do so, though, almost insulting. As always, I had my tunes playing in my ear for entertainment (and just in case I needed to block out background noise). My playlist is an eclectic dream. Asked whether I would like to dine in or on the patio, I chose inside. I don't like swatting insects and sweating into my plate as I eat especially when I am solo-dining. It is somehow more bearable when I am with a fellow diner. Gentlemen especially are quite efficient at pest removal. Inside seating is a bit easier on staff as well. Wait time for a waitress to approach was a bit excessive at five minutes considering the heat demanded a cold drink in my hands. I was not asked when seated at my table which I found a tad odd. With a cold draft beer aperitif to keep me company, I scanned the menu. The meal I came for was on the chef's special insert and on the main menu. Oddly enough, the price differed by one cent. $49.99 on the special and $50.00 on the menu with no discernable differences. I will leave that for the mathematicians to ponder. Perhaps they should reconsider calling it a "Special". It was a 10oz New York strip loin (supposedly Alberta beef, which never impressed me much). Canadian beef, in general, is good regardless of province, and always superior to the U.S. in quality. My meal was served with warm rolls, salad, steak, baked potato, and mixed veggies. Choice of salad/soup, potato, veg/pasta. Delicious warm rolls and fresh salad were served promptly. My first trip to the washroom was pleasant. It was close by, clean with a pretty aesthetic and fresh scent, however, I disliked having to navigate stairs. Upon my return, the entrée was served with a good presentation. The waitress forgot the dollop of sour cream I requested, so I had to ask again. It is not a baked potato without it in my world. The steak had good flavour but was a bit thin and not as tender as I like for medium-rare. A glass of red house wine helped to wash it all down (another must for me with steak). I couldn't eat every scrap but then again I am not a big eater. I suspect a larger appetite may prefer the 14oz cut instead. One hour and 45 minutes later, I was done. The table was cleared five minutes later and I was offered coffee, tea, and dessert. I am not much for desserts. After such a lovely meal, I like to cap it off with a freshly brewed cup of coffee and a snifter of fine cognac, neat. Oddly, my digestif was served with a swizzle stick and a cherry! I am unsure what a true connoisseur of Remy Martin Cognac would think about it, but it was decorative and did provide a sweet treat when I finished. Twenty minutes later I asked for the bill which totalled $106.80. The service was excellent overall. It was served hot and in a timely fashion. I suspect they were short-staffed (unsurprisingly for a Tuesday) because the chef came out from the kitchen a few times to help with various serving duties. The atmosphere was pleasant and quiet without loud music piped in to interfere with my playlist dutifully humming in my ears. My search for good restaurants in Cornwall continues, but in the meantime, I'll always have Mexi's!... Alanis Rae July 23/24 Cornwall, Ont.
Very tasty food for the price portion could be just a little bigger.but we must not forget elegance in a restaurant means more $$$.
Wonderful place for a lovely dinner. Excellent service, delicious food, an upscale atmosphere. Always have had a delicious meal every time I have eaten here. Highly reccommend. P.S. the patio in the summer is a lovely way to dine al fresco.

Absolutely delicious food. Service was great. Big menu with a lot of options and plenty of wine selections. They also have wine recommendations depending on what food you decide on.
I always find it odd that they are not open weekends as it's any restaurant's busiest time but ah well. That being said, it's our 3rd time having lunch at this restaurant, we enjoy eating on their terrace, food is excellent. We had the Tuscan Shrimp Linguini and the Pesto Chicken Sandwich.
While visiting the Cornwall and area, we decided to have lunch at a place unknown to us. What a pleasant find. Indoor and outdoor dining is available, our food was delicious and reasonably priced. For us, it's a keeper..

This has to be my favorite restaurant to order from! The food is always fantastic, I've never had an issue ordering and I've never had my order wrong. The owner is absolutely great, always so friendly and asks how I'm doing. He goes out of his way to make my meal great every time as well as hand deliver even when he's busy. I always order the same, 2 panzarotti's with chicken and green peppers with the meat sauce on the side and its always hot, fresh, and done perfect! When I come into the store, the service is always so nice and welcoming and they're always great with the kids.
Least amount of cheese in town other the pizza pizza. Thought it was one time thing. Gave 3 chances, same thing each time. Had potential to be good except for the whole cheese thing.
Well, we have been ordering from Roma’s and New Roma’s since the last 5 years and have never been disappointed until today. The minute I open the box I knew something was different. THIN Crust is not what I’m looking for, that’s why I bought your pizza. Oh well, you lost a customer. I was NOT impressed, paying the same price for a THIN CRUST PIZZA!! Not again, will go somewhere else.
Hops & Barley Restaurant & Lounge is a vibrant dining destination that celebrates the rich flavors of craft beer and exceptional cuisine. Nestled in the heart of the c…
We stopped in for lunch. I got the bangers and mash which was alright. I have had much better and I prefer actual banger sausages then the ones they served. The French onion soup was top notch. Fish and chips were really well done as well. My kids liked the cheese pizza. I tried it and it was nothing special. I would prefer a more crispy undercarriage but that's my preference. Service was slow for there being our table and 1 other as was the food to come out.
Had what they called Filet Mignon. It was cooked medium well. The meat was nice and pink. BUT the toughest steak I ever had in a restaurant. My guess is it was roast beef made to look like a Filet Mignon. Not even marinated to make it tender. I recommend they do a better job if they are going to substitute less quality cuts of beef. The Shrimp was good. Presentation not bad but you had to dig to actually see there was shrimp.
We were on our way home from our honeymoon in PEI on Thanksgiving day and really wanted a traditional turkey dinner. Hops and Barley had it on their menu and it was delicious! The butternut squash soup was exceptional and the turkey, the gravy, the potatoes, the stuffing and the the pumpkin pie were equally delicious. The lady serving us was also exceptional. She was professional, friendly, kind and funny. Thank you to her for a great experience and conversation. And a big thank you to the lady who sat us in a spot so that we could keep an eye on our vehicle which had our pups in it! All around a great experience. Highly recommended.
Schnitzels & Co. is a culinary haven dedicated to the art of crafting the perfect schnitzel. Located in the heart of the city, we pride ourselves on offering a diverse menu…
We ordered the German plate, and the portion was generous and flavorful, especially the schnitzel. It's definitely a dish you can share with someone. However, we found the sauerkraut less enjoyable and would not recommend it. We also tried the salmon plate, which was quite good, though it was a bit too salty. The service was slower than expected, taking 1 hour and 15 minutes to receive our plates. During the wait, the staff frequently checked if we wanted drinks, which might be a strategy to encourage drink orders while waiting. The place was bustling and very busy.
I absolutely love this restaurant. I love 1.75 hours away from it but make a trip at least once a year to eat here. Amazing food and they have my favourite beer on draft which is super hard to come by (Erdinger Dunkle). Highly recommend. I've posted a pic of the schnitzel trio plate (comes with chicken, pork, and cheese schnitzel, potatoes salad, garden salad, and choice of side; close up of the cheese schnitzel posted as well) and the spaetzel Mac n cheese (SUPER cheesy and delicious!)
We had our holiday office party in the private room on Schnitzels last week. I cannot praise the team at Schnitzels enough for the great evening our team had. Starting from booking the event, Fraser was no helpful in getting everything setup for us in terms of th menu and options. He was very responsive and accommodating to any requests. The food and drinks were excellent and there were lots of options, even for our vegan and vegetarian team members. I want to should out Natasha and Josh our servers who truly took great care of us all evening. Truly an excellent venue for having you next private event.
Kelsey’s Original Roadhouse is a vibrant and inviting casual dining establishment that brings the spirit of classic American roadside eateries to life. Established with a…
Probably the last time I ever eat at Kelsey's in Cornwall. They make no effort to mask tbe fact that they hiked costs and cut portions. Bar service kindly dressed my cocktail with a soggy over ripe strawberry, fun. The spinach dip had... well 14% cheese on it (advertised as an entirely covered dish). The goat cheese salad kindly included expired/black clammy garden salad. FOR THE PRICE, do better. This location has leaking AC water pouring out of the air vents (the poor waitress gets rained on at work), wet carpet flooring, smells like "moist", peeling wallpaper and has ripped up booth seats. The lamps had Halloween looking cobwebs above the seats... Not hygienic for a food establishment, Gordon Ramsey would have a mental breakdown. All that said, our waitress was an absolute GEM. I wish the owners would step up and give their staff an environment they could be proud to work in. Hungry? Go to Eastside Marios in Cornwall... that's my recommendation.
Had a birthday gathering of approximately 25 people. The service was fast and professional, food was excellent and manager Ashley help a lot to set it up. Thank you to the 2 waitress, kitchen crew and management to make my wife special day a memory she won't forget.
The service was amazing very interactive couldn’t have asked for better waitress thank you so much definitely going back again new favourite spot

Wonderful service, staff was friendly:) Don't order the Fish n Chips go for the Pizza or Salmon. Restaurant is separated from the bar, so don't hesitate to bring the little ones.
The service was awesome as always and all staff treat u like family. Can't ask for better service. Tony & Stephanie are the owners they run a great business. Staff waitress Roula, Rachel, and Linda, are the best servers. Cooks Stephanie Tony and Rene run a great kitchen. Food is always awesome.
Service was on the longer side of things. They told me the mashed was made in house but you could tell it's got that instant type taste. After, the group agreed that it wasn't worth it to go here again. Maybe they have better days for food and service but that day was not one of them. The only thing that you could say was seasoned is the salmon, the rest seemed to be catering towards the light side of flavor. Their hot wings taste mild. And honey garlic lacks garlic. ~Consistency and flavor.

Very kind staff, quick service and a great neighborhood restaurant vibe. We are new to the area and my daughter and I went for breakfast and it was very nice and affordable place
We stopped in for breakfast and we were pleasantly surprised. I had the best breakfast ever. The food was amazing and the service was great! I had delicious pancakes, excellent eggs and sausages, rye bread toast (which the waitress recommended) that was amazing and excellent. I would highly recommend the King George Restaurant.
Service was amazing and they serve pretty good coffee with the breakfast. But I’m only 3 stars because it’s wrong to serve poutine with cold gravy and old cheese (grainy, not squeaky) curds!

Location is dated inside, but the service and hostesses were outstanding - everyone was friendly and made sure we had a great experience. We ordered the meat sauce poutine, recommended by our server over the gravy version. Definitely a different take on poutine, no cheese curds - shredded cheese instead and a tomato based sauce. Wouldn’t order it again for personal preference but because of the service we’d come back and try something else. I will compliment how crispy the fries were given all the sauce!
Super great place ! Awesome food at good price, super great waitress, good place to take kids ! Food came in really fast too. They have a high chair, some crayons and an activity paper for the kids. The table is covered by white paper so you can draw on it too !
Philos was recommended while we were visiting Cornwall, this place did not disappoint. Our server was so pleasant, very nice woman. Salads were fresh and came with a delightful dressing that enhanced rather than covered the flavours. The food was seasoned very well, like the salad, everything was seasoned to perfection. The roasted potatoes, well, zoom in on one of the photos I posted and you'll see how crispy and brown they were, they are my new benchmark for roasted potatoes.

We drove here from Montreal since we hear they had great pizza. Honestly it’s not that far. Once you factor in that you basically drive an hour or more because of Montreal traffic and its parking situation to get to the local joint, driving to Cornwall doesn’t seem that far. The restaurant is located very close to the river which is beautiful and you can go for a stroll or rent a kayak to burn off some of the calories. We had pizza and boy was it loaded! You pretty much need a steak knife to cut into it. There’s almost an inch of pepperoni/sausage/bacon loaded onto the meat lovers pizza. Then they throw a mountain of cheese on top and cook it to perfection. It’s going to become the spot we will be going to every time we’re craving a good slice. Highly recommended. Loui is a fantastic pizza man. We decided to eat on the picnic table right outside the restaurant.
I promise you, the BEST pizza you’ll ever eat. I’m from Ottawa and I will drive down each time to get it. Their lasagna, rigatoni and more are fantastic. Sadly, it’s take out only atm but it’s trust me it’s worth it. They don’t cheap out on toppings. Everything is fresh and DELICIOUS.
Ordered a medium Pepperoni with light cheese for pick up. I picked up but never checked to contents. Got home and it was all dressed. I called to let them know and maybe someone else got my Pepperoni? Call was very well received and an offer to fix me up next time. All in all all dressed was really good!!! Thanks guys.

Super great restaurant ! The food is good and cheap Our waitress was super nice and friendly. They have boosters, high chairs and high chairs with tray :) You can even leave with a lollipop The decor needs an update but everything is clean.
We will 110% be going back! We last minute decided to vist after a family gathering prior to our return to Ottawa. I would agree with other reviews that the place could use a little lipstick, but is that why we dine out at outskirts restaurants? The restaurant was very clean. The waitress was responsive and prompt with needs. The food was fresh, served quickly, and was delicious all around. We got different dishes (chicken nuggets for kiddo, pizza, munchies platter and chicken souvlaki) and all were ready simultaneously and all still hot. We will definitely be going back!
I've had breakfast here a couple of times and it was great. Todays review is about their pizza: I'm doing a Pizza Challenge to find the best pizza(s) in Cornwall, and this place did fairly well. It's a slow process to report on all the pizzas made locally but I was in the mood for an "All Dressed" pizza and decided to try their take-out service. Overall the pizza was fairly good and I would order it again. However, I did find the dough a bit too dense and it would be better if the bottom crust had been thinner. The toppings were generous enough--a decent amont of cheese, not too heavy like the "Riverside" pizza. Some people love that but I find it to be overkill. Regardless, this pizza was similar to a Montreal style one with the cheese on top. I ordered a steak and green pepper sub with fries for my wife and it was a decent size and the fries were nice and crispy, although they were the frozen kind. She ate the whole sub so it must have been good LOL!

Being from Montreal, this was our first time at Cornwall BBQ. The reason we tried it was because the parking lot was full and it was only 16:45hrs. when we walked in we were brought back in time to the 70's. Place is clean and a lot of memorabilia on the walls, from sports, and Rotary Club. My wife and I both ordered chicken, she, a leg, and myself a breast. Perfectly cooked and served a top a slice of white bread. The fries are frozen type, but very good, the cole slaw is made in house, and the BBQ sauce is amazing. Dinner included soup and dessert which we did not have. Service was excellent.
My wife and I have been coming here for years. The quality of the food has always been satisfactory. Except this evening was the absolute opposite. The fish and chips platter was unappealing (fish was undercooked). Waited 15 minutes for the two pieces to be replaced. Instead of replacing the entire meal, fries included. They've only replaced the fish. Other meal was a small pepperoni pizza, the pizza dough was hard and overcooked. Not once did the waitress come by and asked how the food was, we're literally had to waive her down to comment about the quality of food. I spoke to the manager about the poor quality of the food. His reason for the food quality was basically because they were busier than expected this evening. I wasn't expecting our meals on the house, but a discount should have been offered at least. As for tipping the staff and waitress, that definitely wasn't going to happened. Waited nearly fifteen minutes just for our orders to be taken. After ten years or longer of supporting this local business. I have no interest in returning or referring anyone anymore to this establishment.
I'm from the States (Missouri) and was recently in Cornwall, ON, CAN. Cornwall Bar B Q has the BEST wings I've ever had - crispy without being greasy, meat still moist not dry. No need for sauce for these! The ribs -- don't even try to pick them up by the bone, the bones come right out. Perfectly tender. Fantastic service and friendly staff. I went back another day and had the ravioli with meatballs. The ravioli was delicious, the meatballs perfectly seasoned, and the sauce was rich, full of tomato flavor, but not sweet - a very nice change! Highly recommend.

Stopped by in this Thai restaurant on the way to Toronto. There's lot of seats inside. The place is very homey and the service is really good. The staff was very helpful in helping us decide what to order. Food was undoubtedly fantastic. We had the fried rice, tom yum, fresh spring rolls. The pad thai was a bit too sweet but was still good. Thai iced tea was really good also.
It’s one of the best restaurants in town. The tables are spacious, and the service was excellent. The waitress was very kind. The pad thai was delicious and packed with fresh nuts. The mango salad was generous and tasty, and the shrimp rolls were crispy and flavorful.
Firstly, I though its the Thai Cuisine that I did not like. But after that I noticed that I did not like anything. Best thing I am not going there next time. Order a few dishes believing the reviews posted, but trust me guys you can do a better job at home. I guess just the kebeb is ok. Rest all are not good. And the bill is 70$.

We went on a Friday night to have a supper (2 girls night out). We had a great time. It’s a lovely restaurant. The ambience is great. Service is awesome by Rachel who gave us food recommendations. The food tastes delicious. I had the Risotto Balls as my appetizer. For my main meal I had shrimps linguine which is very good. We will come back again and try other foods. i would highly recommended this restaurant.
My siblings and I decided spur of the moment to find someplace to eat when visiting Cornwall. We drove to this restaurant without a reservation on a busy Saturday evening. The staff was very gracious and welcoming and found us a spot. Our server was as friendly and helpful as could be making great food and drink suggestions. Any staff walking by no matter where they worked would notice if our water was low or a plate need to be removed. The food was spectacular. I am definitely looking forward to my next visit there. My photos don’t do the food justice, I’m not a photographer but I highly recommend the peanut butter dumplings and crab cake appetizers. Filet mignon was great and the helping on the pasta dish was so generous it could easily be shared. If you have room for dessert, you definitely can’t go wrong with the crème brûlée.
50th birthday party flop. I chose this restaurant so my guests had the option of high end meals and also decently priced burgers. I got there to find out the chef decided not to serve burgers on Sundays anymore. Now all my guests had to over pay for ok food. As a cook myself, I was excited for the burgers so needless to say my big birthday event went south real quick. Thanks for nothing. Oh, the server said we would get 15% off for the inconvenience which then turned into the tax off cause they didn't know how to honor the 15%. Price is too high and portions are too big. We even had to ask for forks to eat our meal. I won't return to try the burgers.
