Two of the best meals that I had during my visit to Newfoundland were close to the ferry terminals. After disembarking from the long ferry ride from NS I looked for a local place to have breakfast and found Kelly’s. I found it to be the exact kind of cafe I always search for. A small, local owned, locally patronized home cooking place with great service and excellent food. It was here that I had my introduction to Newfoundland pan fried cod with scrunchions and Newfoundland pea soup and was delighted ! The fish was generously portioned and cooked perfectly, and the soup and sides were good and hot. I highly recommend Kelly’s !
