Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in La Prairie – 2024

We were thoroughly impressed with the experience at Petinos La Prairie location. The brunch menu is well-priced and offers a variety of options to suit different tastes. Additionally, they have a dedicated healthy food options menu, which is a great touch for those looking to maintain a balanced diet. We got the buckwheat crêpes served with poached egg and cottage cheese which provided a tangy and creamy contrast, pairing well with both the crêpes and the fresh fruits. The other one was eggs with two meats had good portions for the brunch meal consisting of scrambled eggs, sausages, ham, potato wedges. On weekends, one might encounter a line up due to peak times, however despited that, we found the wait time minimal and got our spot quickly, thanks to the restaurant's spacious layout and excellent customer service. Will visit again, highly recommend.

One of the BEST Petinos, service is great, food is great, stuff is awesome, owner always making sure clients are happy. The atmosphere is awesome, you can actually have a decent conversation (noise control panels are great), lots of space in the restaurant, you don’t feel like sardines but at the same time feels cozy. THEY have some very good options on the menu AND a long list of food choices. It is a bit pricey for what it is but not by much; about $2-$3 TOO MUCH PER MAIN So 4 stars for the food because it is good but they need to use alot less salt in ALL of their food items The waitress is polite AND efficient but DOes not not have a warm or personable character ALTHOUGH it could have been an off night for her so it is not a factor that would make us decide to not go back again Overall it is worth trying, especially for a group however most likely not a weekly or monthly restaurant outing

Bring your own wine restaurant. Plenty of free parking. The service was excellent. Food was excellent and hot! We love the little bread! Wow! The dessert is huge! The room is well separated into three sections so one party group of 30 people won't disturb other guests.

Food was excellent, not fantastic but really good. My pizza was very good, my wife's pesto gnocchi was amazing, the best she's ever had, she said. Service was quick and efficient. Atmosphere was not fantastic but we were outside in an overflow section, I guess you better reserve if you want a good seat. And bring your own wine too!

The interior decorations are fantastic. I really like the vibe it gives and it does match the restaurant's name. The service was good. Some waitresses were super friendly and energetic while some others were a bit more gloomy but everyone worked quite efficiently and were all respectful. The food was pretty good. I really liked the flavours from the sauces and the fries. The slight crunch from the fries were just on point. The ribs on the other hand was not falling off the bone as seen in a lot of other restaurants but it was still good. My biggest problem with this restaurant is unfortunately the price and the portion. Seeing the prices in their menu, we were expectint much bigger portions and it was overall a letdown. Edpecially the steak, it is priced at 41$ and rhe size of the steak felt like an appetizer. I wish they would have specified the portion size in their menu because it felt way too overpriced for us to enjoy the food. Most of the other main courses were around 35$ and the portions are smaller than a lot of other restaurants that serves the same dish.

Establishment is nice and cozy, in a beautiful part of town. Rustic and welcoming, while also modern and clean. Our waiter was professional, kind and knowledgeable. One of the best gourmet burgers I've ever had. Great food, at an affordable price, especially considering that you can bring your own wine. Great for couples, families (with older kids), and groups. We will be returning! Edit 2024: Still solid af.

Very nice restaurant, we went there for Father's day. The atmosphere was really nice and cozy. The food was a bit pricey but it was worth it. Once in a while it's good to treat yourself with a nice meal! We met the owner and the cook and they were really nice and had a quick chat with us. If you want a place to celebrate a birthday that is not too crowded, L'Ours is an excellent place!

The food is very delicious, their chicken has lots of flavor and fries are fresh. However, the portions were quite small for the price we paid. An entire chicken was not enough to feed 4 people since it was a very small chicken and costed about 60$. We also ordered appetizers to fill up on but ended up spending a lot more than expected.

A gem of a place! Food is truly excellent! Chicken is great and sauces are very unique. Hot brownie with dulce de leche is 10/10. Atmosphere is great and music is awesome. Customer service by Maya is excellent every time. Truly recommend this place!

First time and certainly won't be our last time. The rotisserie chicken breast arrived hot and steamy. Skin was super crispy and the meat was super moist. The ceviche, fish was fresh and the yellow cream chili sauce was delicious. Highly recommend this place.

pout pout POOOOUT!! Everyone can make poutine but not everyone can make poutine like Chez Monique. Not only is it generous and reasonably priced (19$ for a family sized) but it tastes TRÈS BON! As comparison: I love the fat fries and tangy sauce of Décarie Hot Dog's poutine. One of my all time FAV...but I have to say that the one I had at Chez Monique tonight, although a tad sweater, is MUCH better. The potatoes are amazing! Especially if you like the brown fat fries nortorious in QC. Hefty amount of fresh cheese. Great thick and savoury sauce. A beautiful mess! They use fresh ingredients (i.e. no frozen fries nor ground meat) and you can taste it. It's definitely worth the trek to try this squeak squeak delight. You won't regret it. The Italian poutine is good but the regular original is just that much better. If you have to choose, take regular. If you have 2 stomachs like me. Try the 2. Burgers are good. Gobbled up in no time! Michigan has a generous amount of meat sauce. Did not order their signature bun "bouche trou" but maybe next time: hot dog bun with ground beef douzed with piutine sauce. Might be cheese in there too. I have to admit 6$ is a bit steep. If you order a combo: check if it is cheaper to order each item separately. I think that some combo prices don't add up. There are plenty of seating space with picnic tables but the little sparrows have clearly been hand-fed. They will fly right up your face or plate to try to peck at your food. So do not eat there if Hitchcock scares you or birds on your table or your face bothers you even a little. Take out instead. Special shout out to the couple who run this place. Hard working and lovely couple who are clearly proud of their food.

Nice little burger joint with above average poutine. Conveniently placed next to the Taschereau boulevard, has a parking next to it. You won’t be blown away by it but it looked and taste fresh.It’s a good place for a quick bite.

Original place that looks like a fisherman's shack! We tried different dishes like lobster poutine, grilled squid, seafood pasta and fish and chips! Big dishes and had to take some home! However, some plates were more expensive than expected (small plate of squid/poutine). The dessert was churros with dulce the leche, it was made with perfection!

Amazing vibe, service and food! Our waitress Léane is absolutely great! She has this amazing talent of noticing what you need before you even say anything! The whole vibe is super enjoyable; just as if you’re chilling in a forest next to the sea. Definitely a great experience over all!

Okay let’s get real : a lasagna and a sandwich should not cost 64$ w tax. Does it taste good? You bet. So, is it worth it?? Well, that is subjective to your income level. Portions are not big, so don’t expect to be filled to the brim. Do yourself a favor: Dine in, tip as you believe you should and enjoy the restaurant. This is where you’ll feel like the cost is worth it.

Omg! I really loved this place. The restaurant has nice little Italian touches here and there. The pizza oven is gorgeous. Now let me talk about the pizza. AMAZING! The crust is soft but a little crispy. The toppins are fresh and delicious. I had the funghi pizza, just divine!

We arrive at 11h30 and were served are meal at 12h45. People who came in after us were served before us. Had to get up and serve our self coffee and get our own utensils so we could eat. Definitely not going back.

Küto is on the expansive side of the fast food being somewhat healthier, than other choices. I have been to the La Prairie Küto a handful of times over the past year and not 1 time was my order exactly what I ordered. Last time i asked for tataki i ended up with tataki nachos. Portion are good but often lack of taste, its good and fad at the same time. It is missing the "pop" or the "wow" and at that price it is disappointing. But i keep going as it is what is available in the area. Service is like many food chain, young adult at the counter more interested in the next text message than the client. And between clients, the cashier complained to the cook. Which makes the atmosphere even colder than the already empty room. Lots of take out and food order disrupt the restaurant atmosphere Again not a bad place, good food on the expansive side. Try it out

I come here to work! It has a great quality to price ratio and a very homey feel to it. If you're looking for a cute coffee shop on the south shore I recommend this one for sure! From the sandwiches to the soups to coffees to desserts, I've tried alot of it & you can't go wrong. Definitely a hidden gem (although it's often very busy so not so hidden!)

Terrible cafe - will not return! The chocolate chip scone was stale, dry, tasteless and expensive at $5.35ea + taxes. The coffee was horrible - no flavor! Staff slow to serve. Many tables were dirty with dirty coffee cups from previous customers.

Located in the heart of Vieux Laprairie, this is a small coffee shop with a very cozy atmosphere. The décor is very eclectic and centered on a gas/electric fireplace. Not only can you get excellent coffee and a wide variety of teas, but they offer a small but varied food menu. Of course what coffee shop would be complete without a selection of decadent deserts? Have some time to kill, besides offering the usual free WiFi and magazines/newspapers there are also a variety of games available for children of all ages, and I am including myself in that group. The menu is distributed amongst a series of chalkboards visible immediately as you walk in. Once you have made your selection place your order at the counter and take a seat if you intend to eat on the premises. And before you know, someone will be bringing you your order to your table. On this, our first visit, I chose try their Dragon tea, a type of green tea, with the Rosbif sandwich and the soup of the day. The soup was their take on a slightly spicy cream of corn. Meanwhile Marcela ordered a Latte and the Twist sandwich with a salad. The Twist is a turkey breast wrap with a healthy dose of Havarti cheese. For desert we shared a pecan torte that was delicious and that was just the right amount of sweet. Apologies, we forgot to take a picture of the torte. To sum the meal we had a delicious meal that was filling without making us feel stuffed to the gills. I have seen a few comments from others on various sites saying that they were unhappy with the service. My experience was completely the opposite. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and followed up at with us at regular intervals. All in, taxes and tip our lunch costed us just shy of 44$ which kind of surprised considering what we received. Do not get me wrong, I am not saying that our meals were expensive, it was simply by no means cheap. Will I be going back, absolutely especially in the summer when the outside seating opens up. However at his price it is not somewhere that I will go out of my way to visit regularly.

We are a family of 4( kids aged 6-8) always go to Ben et florentine in La prairie it’s close to our house. The menu is good with lots of choices but prices are on the expensive side. We pay on average 70$ with no special drinks. It’s on the expensive side. Also it’s been 2 times I go and there is hair in my food. Very disappointed the kitchen needs to be cleaner. On the service side, our waitress was very good

Fine dining restaurant with Michelin star quality food. Came here a few weeks ago for a birthday dinner. Place is run by French management and make excellent food. The staff is very professional, and treat their guests with best care. They dealt with pregnancy diet restrictions with expert knowledge. This would be a great place for anniversaries, birthdays or other special events. Expect to pay close to 200 for two guests for a full meal. That said, the food was excellent.

What a pleasant surprise to come across this hidden gem in the heart of Vieux La Prairie. The food was presented beautifully and tasted delicious. It was homey but one notch above average due to the art of plating. Service was fast and the bread was toasted. I would come back next time I'm in the area.

Classic cantine-fare, very tasty. And the owner-operator is very attentive. You may have to be patient if you go for lunch on a school day, lol
