Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Swift Current – 2024

This is such a fantastic place to go!! Natasha was my server and she was quick upbeat and on point with her service! After i finished my meal she came out and sang happy birthday to me and did it with such a vibrant and cheerful attitude!!! I would say they have the best food and service in town!! Highly reccommend.

Went for supper last night Sunday the 29th. The special was Roast Beef. Both of us had it and it was excellent. One of the best restaurant Roast Beef suppers I've had. Price was excellent as well $19.95 includes starter, main course and desert. Highly recommend. Will be back again for this excellent supper.

My wife and myself love to try different cuisines. Yesterday we had driven from Regina to Swift Current and had our supper at K Restaurant. It is a high quality steak house beside the # 1 highway in swift current. This restaurant is owned and managed by experienced professional chefs as it is crystal clear from the dishes we tried.... Vegetarian Moussaka and Filet Mignon Steak well done. The way Chef Mani presented the dish on our table, we were honestly thrilled to see its beauty as if they were works of art !!!! Take a look at the attached photos. Each bite into both these dishes offered juicy delicious flavors that one cannot forget. The service of Deb was commendable. thank you guys for being such wonderful hosts. We will visit this restaurant again and again even if we have to travel two and a half hours from Regina. This place is out of the world. We would recommend everyone to give this restaurant a try.

A hidden gem! Tasty Lebanese food made from scratch. Served piping hot & full of flavor. Delicious Chai tea blend. Highly recommend!

The shawarma with spicy garlic sauce was absolutely incredible, with fresh and delicious ingredients. I can't wait to try other things on the menu. We're extremely lucky to have such authentic Lebanese cuisine in our small town, looking forward to revisiting sometime soon!

I have just had one of the best meals of my life at Montaha’s Bistro in Swift Current. To begin, the owners treat you like family; the customer service was amazing. They work so hard and do quickly, you wish for them to have a rest with you! We ordered a platter with falafel, dolma, hummus, and baba ganoush. We also had batata harra (which I could eat 14 bowls of if given the chance). We followed up with the Lebanese BBQ of shish kabob and shish tawook. We also had a pistachio-cheese-cake dessert. We couldn't stop smiling as we devoured every bite. We sat giggling to ourselves that we were having this amazing food experience. I sincerely thank the owners for a meal and an outing with my husband that I'll never forget.

We were seated quickly by the older gentleman, and our waitress today was bubbly, gave quick service, has a sense of humor, and was so polite! The food came out so quick and in perfect sequence from appetizer to starter to main course and desert (I couldn't eat it all lol) She brought the machine and bill to us without us needing to ask and was on top of it when it came to removing dirty dishes as we ate. Great job!!!

Had a fantastic plate of gluten free fish and chips this evening. Batter was not too thick and did not tasty greasy. Fish was flaky and fresh. If we ever come back through I will definitely be stopping in again.

We waited for a long time for just okay food. Had to ask the waitress for more cutlery and napkins, there were only 2 and we were a party of four. The staff acted like we were a huge inconvenience and we definitely felt unwelcome. Took 10 minutes to get a bill. We ordered 2 specials, 2 milkshakes and 2 kids spaghetti, no substitutions or anything difficult. The milkshakes were the only good part.

We had a wonderful buffet experience, which had many gluten free options. They even cooked up some additional gluten free options for our table. Great service and amazing food!

I eat at other Chinese restaurants. the food at Casey's was a disappointment. the chicken wings were pale and thickly breaded, not appetizing. the pork dumplings had a strong spice which I personally found too strong and unpleasant. maybe just personal taste, but not very good overall. good thing it was hot.

Staff were great. Food variety was not as expected, as I was told by a friend in town that they had so many options..could be as it was mid week nt sure

Tired of the same old options at other restaurants? Are you open for trying something totally new and different for your taste buds? Do you want to experience a fine dining atmosphere? Then this is the place to try! I went for lunch. All unique dishes, smaller portions that does open your pocketbook a little more. Such a unique place in Saskatchewan to dine. Service was great, food was tasty. Decor was classy.

This restaurant can't be beat for amazing service and delicious food! We felt so welcomed right from the start and then we still received tons of attention throughout the meal. 5 star service, seriously! The menu is not large but it has some really delicious items. Many of the items are meant to be shared so this place is great for a date night or a girl's night out. The fondue had a great cheesy flavor and was a good size appy. The ricotta mushroom pizza was incredible! My sister really enjoyed the lasagna. They don't have a kids menu but they have kid friendly items if you ask. This is not a great restaurant if you are a picky eater but if you like to try new and interesting flavors then definitely go! The prices are on the high end but this place has quality food and service and is absolutely worth it. A fantastic addition to Swift Current!

Just what Swift Current needed, a nice "fancy" place to have a meal with friends and family. Went for lunch date with Hubs and baby. Had appie crostini, steak sandwich, and carbonara. Everything was amazing. Honestly, the richest pasta I've had in my life. One pitfall that I'm hoping is maybe just overlooked thus far, or maybe on order and hasn't shown up yet, there was no change table in the bathroom. Large stall for wheelchair, but had to change my baby on the floor. Can't wait to come back to experience the evening menu.

Update: I would like to thank Tyler and his crew for a great second experience. I was quickly contacted after my last review and they gave me a second chance to have a better experience. The food was delicious and service was great. I do wish the 10oz steak they offer was on some sort of menu, it is definitely worth it! Overall, just OK, a typical big chain experience I suppose. Once seated, we were not informed of specials, at least I overheard the table next to us getting informed of them. I had the Mini Stuffed Yorkshire Puddings as a starter. Their flavour was mediocre, but worse was they were warm if not borderline cold. Although, not this location’s fault, as they are a chain, what kind of self respecting restaurant doesn’t offer a decent steak like a 10oz. NY strip? A sad 6oz. Steak sandwich is all they have, disappointing at best for this red blooded dude. The Beef Dip I had for a main was flavourless like the yorkies. I probably won’t ever go back any time soon if ever.

The food was amazing and tasty. Our server was very friendly but seemed to have a difficult time keeping up with the tables once the restaurant got busy. It was nice to be able to bring kids in as long as it's before 8pm. Would recommend.

My husband and I are driving through to Alberta from Winnipeg. Stopped for the night and decided to grab dinner at Original Joe’s. The food was superb and the service was fast and friendly. I had the Pacific Rim noodle soup - it was very tasty! My husband had the stake sandwich which was perfectly prepared at medium rare. It was a nice surprise to be having such a delicious meal in a small town. We will definitely be back in our way home.

Came across this restaurant while traveling through Swift Current. Glad we stopped here. Shared a delicious pizza and caesar salad and chocolate volcano cake for dessert. The waitress, Teagan was very friendly and the owner came by a couple of times as well and chatted with us, very friendly. Awesome to find a family run business with excellent food and service.

I was happy to eat supper at this fine restaurant. I ordered Caesar salad, steak, mushrooms, and mashed potatoes. I enjoyed the salad, the dressing was combined perfectly. I asked for medium-well-done steak, and I am pleased to report that it was cooked excellently. The potatoes were tasty with gravy on the side! I was too full to try a dessert item, maybe on my next trip to Swift Current? Big thanks to my server tonight, Joannie, for being attentive and friendly.

Stopped in because I travel a lot and I love supporting small Mom and pop restaurants. Everything was clean and cozy. I had dry ribs and a side Caesar salad. The waitress was very attentive and the owner was very nice to talk too. Extra points for the Pomegranate Kronos brand candy, not many Greek places carry them. I’ll definitely be back.

Absolutely delicious. Stopped in on our way through town and we were very impressed by what Swift Current had to offer with this upscale diner with Asian influence. Chicken and waffles was unbelievable and too much for me to finish.

Their quick lunch that day was a crepe with mushroom soup which were both delicious. Also got the breakfast sandwich which was really tasty. A bit expensive but worth the quality.

Such a cool little place. The food is ridiculously good and interesting. It was recommended by every local we talked to. Omg, those steam buns are yummy!!! The waitress was amazing too (maybe one of the owners?).

Great food, solid service service in a very dated decor. # 1990s want their interior decorations back. I will definitely be back to try more off the menu.

Stopped there at 11:00 am, when passing through the town, not realizing they weren't open yet, and asked about takeout. The hostess was friendly and polite and asked the cook if he would prepare an order for me, and he agreed, even though they were busy cooking and prepping for the 11:30 buffet.  I ordered the Wong's Chop Suey.  It was a big portion, very hot and filling, vegetables looked fresh, and it tasted good.  I found the broth was a bit on the salty side for my liking, but the rice toned it down.  The restaurant appears to have a nice ambiance with the dim lighting, and it is nicely decorated as well. The prices are very reasonable.  I will definitely stop here again for dining in, when not in such a rush in our travels.

Checked reviews and they were positive. After eating there I know why. Got there just after 5 and the bowls were all full. There was lots of take outs. Little slow when I got there but soon there were lots of people showing up. Waitress was very good. She brought my drink and a glass of water. Friendly and fast. The restaurant was clean. The buffet was always being topped up with more food. The ginger beef was some of the best I have had. Crispy a little chewy. Nice sauce. The salted seafood was very tasty. Nice batter on it also. Lemon chicken was tasty. Won ton soup. Chicken fried rice was very good. So glad I stopped!

We were passing through Swift Current and stopped in for a late lunch. Gail was our waitress, very efficient and personable. I had a plate of nachos they were so delicious with lots of cheese, my hubby had the chicken club with Caesar salad,very filling, the club had a grilled sliced chicken breast in it, he was a happy fella

I went here for the pizza because I LOVE Houston pizza. It ended up being wing Wednesday. So what the heck, let's try then out. The flavors I had were awesome. Electric honey was the best. The wings were not cold but not hot either..... If they were a bit warmer they would have got a 5 star for food. It got busy there as it was wing Wednesday so I was still happy as the food was great. Decided to have the dessert and it was top notch. The carrot cheesecake was for sure a 5......I normally have the pizza but for something different try it the wings.

First warning sign, no prices on Houston's web site. Called ahead about the cost of a 3 topping large pizza - $34.50...ok. ordered a 3 topping with pineapple cooked well done. They charged me $9 for an extra topping... that's 30% more....rediculous! Secondly, it was not cooked well done as ordered...very disappointed! For decades, always stopped here either on way to Regina or Calgary. Like BB King sang, 'the thrill is gone'. No wonder the place is empty at lunch time. Never again!

Can't say enough good things about our first time dining here! Everything exceeded our expectations. Service was attentive and low key. Prices are very reasonable. This place is super clean. Even the music was enjoyable and perfect volume. Food was awesome. We will be back to dine here again when we are in town. Highly recommend trying Riya's out!

Nice little diner with great service and yummy food. HUGE 4 menus with lots of options; kids, breakfast, main and gluten free. We didn’t do the buffet but everything looked delish there too! Family friendly and definitely worth the stop!

My husband, 4 kids, and I went for breakfast brunch on Sunday. We arrived at around 9 and the brunch was not scheduled to open until 10. However, they opened it early for us. The service was great! Waitress was very friendly and attentive . The food was delicious! The crepes were amazing! The sausage cooked perfectly and I don’t usually like sausage!! We all left content! Will return again!

I think this was the best breakfast I’ve ever eaten at a restaurant. Not a hollandaise connoisseur, however tried the bruschetta Benedict add bacon crumble…..it was amazing.

Don't let the rustic surroundings or negative reviews dissuade you. The food here is excellent - one of the best breakfasts I've had in a very long time. I will be back to try some of the Filipino food I keep hearing about.

The food here was absolutely terrible 5 separate dishes a $100 bill and not a single one was good. Soggy fries and food that looked like it should just be thrown in the trash. The service and atmosphere were great but really no effort into preparing good food.

Wow, just unreal, the best Indian I've had in Canada. The vibe was chill and warm, the server was very nice and calm, the food was large portions and sooo freaking delicious. Music was cool and the bathrooms were super clean. Can't recommend enough !! 6 stars

The second we walked in we were greeted with a fun neon sign of the restaurant which I haven’t seen in a while. We came quite late so there wasn’t much people around but the decor of the place is amazing with light relaxing music in the background as well. The service was great our server was friendly and gave us good recommendations. Our food came fast and hot and she always came by every 5 minutes with water to refill our glasses. The food was refreshing because it’s my fire time in Saskatchewan and to be honest in this small town finding a good restaurant was a bit of an adventure but this place puts some Calgary Indian restaurants to shame. The food here was amazing the mango curry was sweet and spicy and the meat tender. The fried rice was crispy and seasoned well. The Panner Tikka was pretty cheesy and seasoned but not my favourite. Great place sad I only went once and probably never again but it was an amazing experience!

The food and services here are so good like OMG. We ordered a butter chicken, a butter naan, drumsticks and a steamed rice. I’d say the butter chicken and the naan are the must-order. The 3 of us can’t even finish them (in big portions). Everything is so cost-efficient. Such a wonderful experience to try Indian food for the first time! And they have lots of special offers. We even want to order some tomorrow morning for takeout since we are leaving the town, but kinda upset to find out that they open at 11:30. Anyway, strongly recommend for people who want to try Indian food.

The waitress was very helpful and pointed out some of the more popular options on the menu. I was a tad disappointed that there was no oyakodon (chicken + egg donburi) and ordered the chicken teriyaki and the dynamite roll instead. She immediately clocked me as being from out of town There was miso soup included that was served first. It was very enjoyable and a nice opener for the meal. The dynamite roll was huge (12 large pieces that *almost* didn't fit in my mouth) and a little different than what I'm used to back home. Instead of the usual fish roe on top, there were breadcrumbs. My only critique for this dish is that I wish there was more sauce served alongside the sushi or a bottle at the table that you could pour yourself, as I ran out of soy sauce with 4 pieces of sushi left to go and it got all gummed up by the breadcrumbs. The chicken teriyaki came out sizzling like fajitas at a mexican restaurant. The chicken was delicious and it was served on a bed of saucy cabbage, noodles, and other veg. There was kimchi and rice on the side. Similar to the sushi, I wish there was more kimchi as I ran out before I finished the chicken (I enjoy having a piece of kimchi with each mouthful). The kimchi was very mild, but delicious. I would encourage the owners to update the exterior signage, as it only mentions "Japanese Dining". The menu seems more geared towards Korean dining and while the food was well-executed, it was not quite what I was expecting (such as kimchi being served with teriyaki). All in all, the service was great and the food was a lot better than I was expecting for an Asian fusion restaurant in the middle of the prairies. I would highly recommend it.

Very good sushi. Had the tempura shrimp, along with dynamite roll. Very tasty. Filled me up. Came with miso soup. Service was very good. Clean and lots of room. Even brought a pitcher of water. Very nice touch. Most restaurants don’t bother with water or a small glass. Will be back to try more dishes.

Excellent food! I had a lunch special here with beef. Everything was delicious and prepared in an eye appealing manner. Two thumbs up! Will definitely come back! 정말 맛있었습니다

My family stopped at this restaurant going back to Winnipeg from AB. Portion size was really good for the price and food was amazing. They do have a buffet but it's a bit pricey. We got the Takoyaki for an appetizer. Wait time was really good but it was on the emptier side.

My wife and I eat at the restaurant in September. The service and food was excellent. Good home style cooking. My wife forgot her purse there. The staff found it and contacted us. This shows the honesty and integrity of the staff and owners of this restaurant. Will definitely be my go to place to eat when I am in the city.
