Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Shaunavon – 2024

Great little ice cream shop that is tucked away in Shaunavon. Lots of great selection of ice cream. They have soft serve plus hard ice cream. Their twists and sundaes are very good. The atmosphere of the inside is great, styled as a old dinner. Highly recommended stop in especially on a hot day. They even have a bunch of hot food.

My wife and I have a long standing love for malted shakes. To find them has become harder and harder. Even in the states that made them popular decades ago. Well - the folks at Frostry Treats know how to make a delicious malted shake. If you’ve never had one, it’s worth the drive.

Very unwelcoming servers.we are new to town. Thought we give it a try. The food was OK. Prices average. Went back a second time different server same un friendly service. To bad because it is a nice little place, could be a really good spot if there was a simple hello or how's your day. Maybe a thanks come again. But not my bussiness to dictate to.

Came here for lunch with the work crew. The burgers were delicious with homemade patties to-boot. The service was acceptable but nothing to write home about. The decor is pretty nice for a small town restaurant. Not a bad location for lunch and the prices are very reasonable for what you get.

Food is good and cheap. I have really enjoyed the food and prices.

You just know the meal will be good. One of them small town mom and pop shops. Locals galore. Everyone knows your name. The waitress was very attentive and pleasant. Two eggs and sausage breakfast. Pretty standard. Decent price point. Will be back if I’m in the area.

Wow, just wow! Get ready for the meat sweats. The BBQ here is absolutely amazing and well worth a drive from Swift Current. The decor is chic and modern. The food is prepared at a galley kitchen in front of patrons which is a neat touch. Any of their BBQ offerings are well worth the visit. I had a steak which was a tad underdone but I would prefer that to over cooked. The Dill Pickle potato salad was deadly good. If you’re looking for a nice outing with your significant other, look no further.

Absolute hidden gem! Food is amazing, atmosphere is really cool, and the staff treated us very well! I'd probably never visit shaunavon again but I might for this BBQ!

Little gem in the middle of the big sky. Drove 90 minutes just to try it. Was well worth it and if I'm ever in the vicinity I'll be sure to return. Food was perfectly tender and had so many original flavors. Service was 1st class.

Absolutely amazing place. Roberto is awesome and very friendly. He made us one of the best pizza’s I have ever had. I got the biggest one on his menu and the size and amount of toppings was not to disappoint. Highly recommend and will return to try his taco’s. I hope you can zoom in and see his menu as well.

Wow. So amazing best dinner special I have ever had. Things got busy, and new tables coming in owner was as prompt as he could be and was sympathetic. Will be honest. Worth the wait for the portions, and flavors. Everything is worth the wait.

Such a cool restaurant. The tacos are amazing and the pizza is great as well. The service is top notch!

We sat ourselves and waited a long time before anyone came out to the front. Longer to get our order taken. Never asked us what we wanted to drink. The food came another 30 minutes or more after that. The guy at the front went past some people seated so many times without a greeting or taking their order that they finally just left. It was not busy inside. The food we got was awful. Very tiny spread out on plate. Both had ordered the meal for 1. The sweet n sour chicken was so vinegar-y, not sweet, and super hard over-cooked with not much meat inside. Cut my gums! There was no more than a tablespoon of veg in the vegetable chow mein over uncooked noodles, one fork full if you could eat them raw, crunchy tasteless. I asked why there was no chow mein, but these raw hard noodles and that we would not have ordered it if we knew. Later he came past and asked if I 'still didn't like the chow mein'. Offered nothing. The fried rice was not fried. Weird. Worst meal this year. Neither of us ate it up. But, then when I went to pay, the other man who had been in the back, says 'do you live here?' 'That's why I've never seen you in here before'. Rude the way he said it. He could have just thanked us for trying them, or coming in, or anything else. Didn't care. Won't be back.

I try to test out small town Chinese food places as you get some real gems some times... not so much in this case. Now it wasn't terrible. Admittedly if I lived in or around town I'd probably be pretty happy but I just found this place as being "cheap". I usually get chicken balls, ginger beef, and rice as that seems to be standard for my circles. I got the shaingha noodles (instead of rice) as they usually aren't offered as a side are typically pretty tough to get right , and I'm usually not impressed with the fried rice. Chicken balls are kind of a standard of Canadian Chinese food and these chicken balls were far from great. The chicken inside ... well what was there was about half the size of the end of my pinky finger (like a small 4x4 Lego brick was the largest) I feel you should be able to cut a chicken ball in half and be able to see chicken in either side obviously from my photo not the case. The chicken was also a bit chewy, it seems like it was precooked (possibly frozen) and then refried. The chicken batter was tasty enough and the inside was fluffy but so was the outside, I like a crispy outside. Combined with the precooked chicken I think frying the chicken ball longer could have a fresh cooked inside, a fluffy inside and a crisp outside. The ginger beef was better. The beef wasn't chewy and the batter was nice and crisp with a satisfying crunch. It seemed to have a bit too much ginger or not enough honey/sugar. There was no extra onions or green peppers. I like that there are no extra veggies but I know some folks like this. It seemed like there could have been a bit more ginger beef plated. The strips were pretty thin and there was maybe 4 or 5 strips which just feels again like they were cutting corners. The shanghai noodles were pretty good but the cabbage that was cooked with seemed to be added last minute and was definitely undercooked. There was a bunch of oil left on my plate in the end. All in all this isn't a bad place. The food was very tasty and as far as small town Chinese places go I'd be pretty happy to have a this place in my town. All in all it feels like it's just cheap, the prices aren't low enough to feel like it's a sweet deal but the quality of the cooking is JUST below the line. My food came VERY fast... I'd wait an extra five minutes for fresh chicken I'd pay an extra 2 bucks for that much more meat. It's evident the folks here offer great service and know what they are doing.. it just feels like it's so close to the mark but not quite there. I don't feel ripped off but I'd definitely look forward to better Chinese in a larger center.

First time earing there and never again. That was the most disgusting food. We took a couple bites and left. Food was over cooked and you can taste the burnt oil from the deep fryer. Very disappointed

Great little gem of a diner. Family run place. Owner was super friendly and the food was tasty and reasonably priced too. BBQ ribs were great with a awesome homemade sauce. Clubhouse was nice too with homemade chicken rice soup. Definitely would eat here again. Well worth the stop.

Had fish and chips fish way over cooked.charged me extra for a slice of lemon. There were literally only 14 fries on plate. No salad, coleslaw, veggies just 14 fries and 2 overcooked pieces fish. All for only $13.95

Heard good things about this place went to try it out. Ordered our food, waited over an hour and a half for our food, asked if we could atleast get our salad, was told they can not place orders ahead of other orders!!! It was just the salad of our meals. Said could we cancel our food waitress asked if we wanted it to go when it was ready? Is it ready? No. Then cancel paid for our drinks and left. Get a call form one of our co workers about 25 minutes after leaving saying we have a tab there for walking out on our food! Called the restaurant and they tried saying it was ready when we left which we were told it wasn't and it took 25 minutes to tell cowork who was on the other side, we walked out without paying tab. Told the manager we would be back to get our food, please have it to go. Went in to pay bill asked price of bill questioned why when we ordered was told steak sandwich was $18.95 on the bill was $22.95 not a big difference but the waitress said oh I misquoted you. Very poor serve we had that day. I have been on bith sides of the table as a customer and a manager and waitress of a restaurant and would have never treated someone they way we were treated or talked to. Hope if you go to Overtime restaurant in Shaunavon SK. You have a better experience. Rant over.

Very awesome establishment. Favorite place to go when in town. Convenient location and great service. Drinks are reasonably priced, and food is excellent. Grilled cheese burger and buffalo dill pickle wings were great! Also tried the grilled salmon. Very impressed.

Pizza was superb! Best I've ever hard in 40 yrs.

Was recommended to go here while travelling. Great coffee and personable service. Learnt about the art gallery and went there after. Learnt about the town murals there from the personable guide.

Amazing coffee shop. Learned a TON from Logan, who knows his stuff about coffee! Will definitely be back next time I'm in town.

The Snack Shack is a great little place full of fun treats and tasty snacks! They have hot items on the menu as well as cold goodies depending on your mood. The candy is fantastic! Strolling through the candy section you are transported back to your childhood as many favourites are on the shelves as well as UK imports and new releases. Would you like to watch a movie while you munch those treats? The Snack Shack has movies for rent or sale to keep you entertained on a rainy day. We love the snack shack when we visit Shaunavon, and can't wait to see what they have the next time we pop in!

Their chicken is perfectly done to my liking and their ice cream treats are made with care and never have melted before I get them home!! …

Wow. Just wow. Was told this is the best chicken in sask. I believe that to be a lie. This is the best chicken in Canada. Never have I ever had better. Awesome.
