Super small plate for $16-$18 plate? This is a sports bar not a fancy restaurant. This use to be the spot but now I’m paying more for less. This is a disappointment
Last Saturday town Tavern in rock Hill helped us say goodbye to my father who sadly passed a way after a battle with cancer the previous Friday. I called them Wednesday of that week, hoping that they would have a space for us because everywhere else was booked for graduation parties. I told them our situation with my father’s passing, and that we needed a place to land after the memorial for people to gather and reminisce. The owner Rob responded so quickly to my request to book the bar. Later when we spoke on the phone about how the night would go I was so grateful for how accommodating and sympathetic he was. Kindness should never be overlooked in today’s world. They had all of our food and drinks prepared exactly when they said they would and went above and beyond. The food was hot and fresh and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxed which is exactly what we all needed. The owner even gifted us a beautiful bouquet as a centerpiece for my family’s table that he made himself. (Photo of bouquet added to review) Our server Kai was so kind and an expert at chasing my loud and consistently in motion family around with their drink and food orders. We so appreciate all of his hard work that night. Although it’s not the usual place to mourn after a service, it was perfect for us. Being able to laugh, cry, drink, eat and of course watch some sports was healing in a way ..It was the type of family gathering my father would have loved to attend. I cannot thank the owner and staff at towne tavern in rock hill enough for helping make an incredibly sad day a little brighter.
Online order was ready 25 minutes after they said it would be. After standing there waiting, I peeked at the order to see if they were right. Apparently I didn't look close enough. Missing 3 orders (sides) of fries , got one entree wrong and forgot the honey mustard. 30 minute drive home made going back unreasonable. I realize that restaurant work is tough and it isn't unreasonable to get something wrong, but that is a lot to miss in a single order. It is attention to detail. The manager (Rob) offered to comp fries the next trip there but not sure we will be back.

We just had our fourth visit. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. They've never steered us wrong on a suggestion they've had. Rotisserie chicken on the bone is my fave. Chicken wings are my husband's and the chicken over rice with cheese is my son's. I tried the chicken and cheese over rice and I didn't like the cheese and the chicken was dry. The chicken being dry definitely was unusual from previous visits. The guacamole appetizer is very good but the salsa was so so. A little watery for us. They have plenty of sides to choose from. Fries are a solid go to as is the fried okra although I learned the fried okra is a weekend only item. I hate that as it is my fave of all of the sides. There are a variety of beer options. My husband chooses the darker beers and sadly his first choice tends to be out. We will definitely be back.
My husband and I tried this place out for date night last night. Not sure what we were expecting but the location was pretty convenient to downtown rock hill. Food- the food was just okay for us. There was really nothing wrong with it; it just wasn’t exciting. I saw the sign that indicates it’s southern-costa rican fusion but I didn’t see anything that made me think that was the case. Mainly southern but with rotisserie chicken. The chicken was tender. I got the fries and okra which were good too. My husband got the chicken bowl which we both thought was just okay. We also got the chicharrones and guac to start. These were good when they were tender. Some of the pieces were so hard you couldn’t chew them. Service- our server was very nice and prompt. I never got offered a refill is my only complaint. Atmosphere - nice location and close to a lot of things. The bar was definitely having fun!
First time visit to The Roasting Company - Rock Hill. She had some sort of chicken wrap and I was gonna get somthing chicken, The server said the meatloaf was on special. I'm weird, I like meatlosf and it did not disappoint. Everything was very good, see ya next time.

Fantastic service and environment and very good food. A unique dining location worth experiencing. Highly recommended. I am only giving 4 out of 5 stars for food because, at the price point, I would expect the food to wow just a little bit more. In 2024 it was the same great service but with a very slight step down from the outstanding tastes I remembered from 2021. The menu rotates so, looking for that next amazing meal, I'm definitely going to come again when I'm next traveling through the area. Do be aware late at night there may be some months when dining outside (if that will bother you, sit inside during the later hours).
Had an employer recognition lunch here and it was wonderful! Our service was great, especially our server Travis...he was outstanding! We had the fried okra and fried green tomatoes as appetizers. Both were awesome! I had the pork chops with mashed sweet potatoes. The chops were grilled to perfection! The river view, the chill vibe, and the great food make this one of Rock Hill's finest, if not the best, restaurant in the area south of Charlotte!
Awesome atmosphere and the customer service was great. They were knowledgeable of their menu to offer suggestions. The food was flavorful for the most part. We had the Black and Bleu appetizer. I had the short ribs and my husband had the stuffed trout. He said his was not flavorful. My short ribs were tender and rich! So good! The appetizer had so many flavors within it.

The Food was as good as it Look I mean Like butter, delicious the food was so good I ate there a month ago and that's all I been think is that food.. I'll see yall sometime week. Great Place, Great food, Great vibes.
We decided to walk to this hotel from the events center, and this turned out to be the best breakfast I think I've had out! The cook (Teresa) seasoned the food to perfection. They had good quality meat, the fruit was fresh, and everything tasted just as good as it looked. Not to mention the price was great for what you get for a change. To top it all off, Christine gave us the absolute best most attentive customer service. I will be back!
A great experience! The food was delicious, & Lori was amazing! Her customer service is top tier! I definitely recommend!

Flipside Restaurant in Rock Hill has a very nice menu with a wide variety of options! The salads are fresh and so delicious. My friend had the naked grilled chicken with risotto and loved every bite. The truffle fries were hot and crispy. It’s a very nice take on eating healthy and hearty. Highly recommend! The outdoor seating has umbrellas and fans, making it a comfortable dining experience.
Excellent lunch deal. I had the original flipside burger with sweet potato fries, and the wife had the mushroom ravioli. Both were superb original dishes without being pretentious or over the top. It was a delicious, hardy lunch at a very reasonable price. My only complaint, which is very minor, was the music, which included "Who Let the Dogs Out?". Not my cup of tea, but it was never too loud or intrusive. The food and service made the meal totally worthwhile, and I totally recommend it. Gourmet level food at extremely affordable prices.
It's chilly in there. The server was amazing! A very nice southern lady who took great care of us in detail. The food was good, but not what I expected, it was good, not great. For some reason they decided to break my blackened salmon into chunks and mix it in the pasta and vegetables in the sauce, At first glance it looked like they forgot to put my salmon on the plate and then I discovered it, in low light, hiding in the sauce. So, whoever posted photos of it here with an actual salmon steak, must have gotten the better version of seared/grilled salmon where as I got the mushy sauted one. Thank God all the flavors were on point. All the other food on the table looked delicious. I did try the picles from the Cuban sandwich and they tasted like chemicals/preserves to me. Not enjoyable. I really liked the sweet potato fried. They were delicious. I did request honey mustard and my friend requested honey, so they had both ingredients and brought them to us immediately. They didn't get everything right, but they did get a lot right. I'd go again but try a different meal on the menu. Their burgers looked delicious, my husband was pleased.

Wow! This place is unique and a must try for any BBQ fan. The pork sundae is my new favorite. Tried the Memphis bbq sauce- it was good. A little too sweet for me. The BBQ hash side is wonderful. Black eye peas with collards is another good side you can’t find everywhere. Can’t wait to go back and try the ribs
I was down here on a trip from Virginia and I have to say this place was the absolute best. It’s such a quaint whole in the wall type of place that makes you feel welcome. And this place has the absolute best catfish sandwich I have ever had in my life and that’s coming from someone who lives in coastal Virginia. Also their banana pudding is absolutely a wonderful delicate treat on a hot summer day. I also applaud the workers for taking southern hospitality to the nines and helping out an individual who came in off the street who ran out of gas. I will surely be back in the future!
We are OTR drivers and found this gem while doing laundry. It was a pleasant surprise! The food was delicious. I had the pulled pork sundae. EXCELLENT My husband has the smoked chicken. He ordered dark meat and got white. He was hungry and decided to not say anything, especially since the wait staff was inattentive. His meal was great, smoked chicken with Alabama white sauce, mac and cheese, and red slaw (which was a first for us).

This place is is more: You're broke and are hungry But, I wanna start by saying, I really love the staff! Ya get the Southern hospitality feel in their tone and mannerism. However, when you go in, you see some food on the floors so I felt a little put off by it. No Napkins on the tables so you have to ask for it . Salad definitely looks homemade. Looks like someone threw it together and I wish the salad filled the whole plate and that it wasn't served on a plate with chipped edges. The fried pickles were good but I didn't expect it to be whole like that and not chip like. The spaghetti was alright but the sauce wasn't acidic so I had to add salt from the table Good portion. The garlic bread I had to pull to even eat it. So.... Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3 Food: 3
This seems to be the place the locals eat at. Home cooking eith a large variety of foods. We were quickly seated, waited on immediately, ordered, and the food came out quickly. The food was really great, and our server Stephanie was awesome.. 5 $$
Outstanding Diner!!! Rock Hill Diner nails the Diner concept with this incredible Southern style Diner. Their Onion Rings I am particularly fond of - great Burgers, Breakfasts, and Lunch items. Staff is very welcoming, and honest (ask about an item and they actually tell you the truth about it - usually great though!). Generous with the butter too! Sweet staff!!! And Quick!!!

The pizza was cooked to perfection! Delivery driver was very nice! Appreciate the wonderful dinner! Called the manager to let them know, Amanda has a great crew tonight! The bites were from me. Pizza arrived whole.
Ordered the food 2 hours in advance on the app. To have it delivered at 5:30. Have called to check on the order and get automation. It is 6:30 an hour later and still haven't recieved our pizza. Very poor customer service. I didn't realize it takes 3 hours to get a pizza. The worst service every. STAY away from papa johns.
Papa John’s is usually my first choice when I want pizza. Online ordering is super easy and I love that they have drive-thru pickup. The service isn’t always the best, which is why I don’t go as often as I used to. However, during my last visit, the individual at the window was extremely nice and welcoming. I ordered a NY style pizza because I wanted the big foldable slices. I was EXTREMELY disappointed in the cut. My pizza was cut in 9 slices of various sizes. I also ordered garden veggie papa bowl. It had more cheese than anything and very few veggies. It looked NOTHING like the veggie bowl on their website. Needless to say, I will not be ordering a papa bowl again. And it will be a long time before I return to Papa John’s.

We were in town for the NCAA Basketball Academy and Old Town was one the restaurants to eat at. I will tell you that the food was delicious. Everything we ordered was delicious especially those loaded fries. You will not be disappointed. So go visit.
Me and a co worker stopped in for lunch this afternoon. I had the Bloody Mary Shrimp & Grits. The grits weren't bad, just not the flavor I'm use to when having shrimp and grits. My co worker had the Classic Burger. He said it was delicious. The atmosphere, and service at the bar was exceptional!
Cool vibes here. Food was yummy. They ran out of the Banana pudding but we made up for it with the Sweet Potato Cheesecake

Delicious food. Great service. Large portions. We had an incredible dinner here today and this has easily become one of my favorite Italian restaurants. Kirrisa was our waitress and she was great. Very knowledgeable of the menu and checked in on the table often. Ordered the Alfredo with mushrooms and the chicken parm. They both came with a side salad and a basket of breadsticks with marinara. Plenty of food and enough left to have leftovers for days.
There were on a thirty-minute wait so we went to the bar. The bartender knew his wine and after asking questions picked two perfect glasses of wine for us. Twenty-five minutes later we were seated. With the bartender's recommendation I ordered the Chicken Cacciatore. The dish was plentiful, delicious and an excellent choice. My wife ordered the Tortellini Alfredo. A perfect portion with an excellent Alfredo sauce. Great service and prices!
The second you open the door the smell of a great pizza hits you! The kids wanted extra cheese and pepperoni and it was delicious! The portions here are huge and the prices are fantastic! I had a 12inch sandwhich and it was massive and so full I couldn't get my whole mouth over it. Great flavor n taste. Very fresh! My friends family got the pastas and holy moly the portions are massive. The kids portions are bigger than your other Italian pasta place and way cheaper. Delicious too!

I visited Kounter after my 10th class reunion at Winthrop University. Downtown Rock Hill has done a 180 from the last time I lived there in 2014. This restaurant was delicious. The lobster gnocchi was creamy and provided not one but two lobster tails. The fried ribs are a pass for me personally. I just didn't think it was enough meat for me. And I was stuffed, so I could finish the whipped key lime dessert, but it was good. If I'm ever in town, I would certainly visit again.
We decided to celebrate our 15 year anniversary at Kounter after reading many good things online. Overall it was a great experience. It's obviously a very popular place and being a last minute plan on our part, it seemed lucky that we were able to snag a reservation on a Friday night. Service was wonderful, the food was great, and the whole vibe was top tier. Even being short staffed, they stayed on top of service. There was never a long wait for food or drinks and even though our waitress(es) were training and taking care of many tables, they made a point to take the time to provide excellent service. Our table wasn't available at the time of our reservation but honestly, it worked out better because we were able to enjoy the nice weather at their tables outside. It was also much quieter but still had the great tunes playing overhead. It's not often you get to listen to Backstreet Boys while eating a fancy meal lol. I ordered the scallops and my husband had the blue plate special. Both dishes were great. As was our totchos appetizer. All of the flavors were unique but worked together so well. I will say my scallops were a little chewy but not overly so. Nowhere near rubber territory but not exactly the best I've ever had. I was pleasantly surprised by the grit cake and sauce that accompanied them though. It was still a great choice but as there are so many great options on the menu, I would probably try something else next time. My husband's meatloaf meal was awesome so that's a solid bet. The totchos were also unique but so good. They were actually more like balls of hashbrowns with toppings than tots. All the flavors worked well together. Oh! And I can't forget to mention their take on a White Russian with peanut butter whiskey was pretty delicious! The mini Reese cup garnish was a nice touch as well. Overall, I would definitely visit this place again and probably will in the near future. Our waitress mentioned many people order a lot of the smaller plates or a few larger ones and share so that will probably be the move next time. There's too many good options on their menus to narrow it down to just a couple plates!
Always nice to try something new! The Kounter in downtown Rock Hill. A piece of history when you walk in. Let’s talk food and service, everything was absolutely delicious and a chef created menu that will not break the bank. Our server/bartender Brandi was so sweet, she is working a full day and has been without power since the hurricane. Made a brilliant sangria! Must try the wonton nachos, Cuban sandwich with home made pickles and the collards were on point! They do take reservations which is always recommended for busier days. Its nice you can park just about anywhere and venture all over downtown.

If I could give a 4.5 I would do that instead but I can only do 4. I would give it a 5 but there is limited vegan options here. For what they do have though it's very tasty and the service is Extremely nice but it's also very well priced. I would one hundred percent go back here again easily.
I've past this place for some time and finally had the opportunity to try it. DON'T. Service was great but the food was not. The hummus tasted eek!! Tasted like the oil was old. The chicken wrap with fries and garlic shrimp were inedible. They went in the trash. We tried but will not return.
From the start we had a great experience with Stephanie who seated us and took our order. She was kind, welcoming and checked on us a couple of times during the meal to see if we needed anything. The lamb shank was amazing and came with two sides making the portion very generous. My Kufteh Kabab was just a little tiny bit dry BUT delicious and also came with two sides. As our sides we got rice, soup and baba ganoush with pita that was sooooooo good. We are definitely coming back to try other dishes and their fresh fruit juice.

Had the nice dinner with coworkers. Being from out of town, the shrimp and grits with a sweet tea was a must. Never having tried grits before, I didn’t know what to expect. They were smooth and creamy with a great buttery flavour. The sweet tea was not as sweet as I’d expected but it was pleasant. Friendly wait staff and quick service.
I can't begin to express how disappointed I am with ordering this dessert. The price for the amount that was given is insulting. What is supposed to be a cobbler was as flat as a cookie and did not taste good. The ice cream was grainy. I will never order again.
Stopped by this location for lunch for the first time. I had the side salad, which by the looks of it, you already know it was delicious! The service at the bar was phenomenal! I will definitely be back whenever, I'm in the area.

I’ve heard great things about the burgers here and we finally got out to give it a try. Service was alright, my husband asked for unsweet tea and got sweet tea twice. Our waitress was just eh. My husband wanted to try the Mac and cheese as an app - which we said we wanted as an app and it got served with our meal. Not the worst thing. We all kinda got our food at different times, close together, but not at the same time. I got a build your own burger - temp wise my burger was hot, even after I tried my side salad and Mac and cheese. I felt the burger was bland. My husband got the Mr. Big Stuff and he was good, but the pimento cheese had a lot of mayo. But overall, he enjoyed it. I would go back again, but probably just get the Mac and cheese.
Visited this place for the first time it was Awesome!!! The service was great. Fried Pickles were delicious. Burgers were great. So many
First time visit. Everthing was good. I had the Fried Mac Burger with Sweet Waffle Fries. She Had the BYO with a fruit cup. My burger was good, I expected it to be a little bigger. No real complaint other then $19 for a burger. Our server Phallyn was great.
