Stopped in for lunch on a Tuesday about 1pm. It was not very busy so we were seated immediately. Nice drink menu with local brews and great assortment of liquor. The outside seating is huge. We did not seat outside as it was warm. The interior is minimally decorated. Tables are metal and chairs were comfortable. The bar is small. The menu had great options. We had the white pizza and Philly. The white pizza is a must. Great amount of cheese with caramelized onions. This is a must try. The Philly needed more cheese. It was okay. The fries that came with the Philly are great. They are kind of a mix between a spiral cut steak fry and a chip. The thicker ones are steak fryish. The thinner ones have a nice crispness to them. Need more restaurants to have these. I would recommend give this spot a try.
An absolutely outstanding experience! Brooke was all you could want from a bartender: attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The two drinks I had, the "Raspberry Bourbon Smash" and the "Tropical Storm" were memorable and delicious. Their "JC Burger" was cooked to perfection, and probably one of the juiciest burgers I have had to date. I highly recommend Twisted Laurel. You will not be disappointed.
We were really looking forward to trying this place but were extremely disappointed. After waiting thirty minutes to be seated we were placed in the sloped outside area where we felt like we were falling the whole meal. My chicken sandwich was ridiculously huge but entirely flavorless. There was no salt used in the batter and the fries were missing salt. My wife's pasta dish suffered the same and, to boot, the portion was extremely small. We don't ask for much, but as it turns out, salting the food during cooking is a must for us. You can't just throw some salt on a piece of cooked, breaded chicken and it turn out as flavorful as if it had been cooked properly from the start. The waiter seemed like he could have cared less whether or not we had a good time and only checked in on us once. The whole staff in fact seemed like they hated being there. It wasn't a fun experience and we definitely won't be going back. I can't say I enjoyed eating around a bunch of dogs either. So, do yourself a favor and eat at a restaurant with some flavor.

We’ve been here several times. This is a review of our most recent visit. Why is this three stars and not five? Certainly the view is outstanding! And the food is good, although you are paying for the view, so the food is expensive, but you’re not really coming for the food, you’re coming for the views and the craft cocktails. The pros are that the bar has valet parking, and there is EV charging, which is great. The view, of course, is a big positive. The drinks are very good. They are consistent with any other craft cocktail bar in town. All the standard high-end elements are here. And the drinks are priced understanding that the view is a big attraction as well. So, certainly not inexpensive but not over the top. Again, consistent with the other craft cocktail places in town. The cons are that there are quite a few tourists, and something really odd happened during what I assume was changeover for the staff. Our server was excellent, and then there was some rumbling and there seemed to be a bit of an argument with the staff, and lots of buzzing and moving and changing while we were there. It was a bit uncomfortable, not quite sure what was happening, or if we was going to get our server back. She disappeared for a long time, but eventually came back. She was excellent! But during that odd shift change out, she was nowhere to be found, and unfortunately, it was our time to go. In fact, we didn’t really see any servers during that shift change out, as they were all in the corner having a conversation, so something must’ve happened. Perhaps they were understaffed, or somebody came in when they weren’t supposed to. But instead of taking a few minutes to resolve, it was a lot of time to resolve. She finally did return, and we were able to get our bill. We will return and hope to come back when it is not as touristy and hopefully we will not encounter this problem again.
The Montford rooftop bar is a hidden gem in downtown Asheville. The atmosphere features beautiful panoramic views of the blue ridge mountains. There's indoor and outdoor seating available, along with local stoneware and petite glassware. The small plates menu is refined and full of flavors perfect for pairing with signature cocktails, wine, or beer. The food is thoughtful which is hard to find at a bar. Come here if you want to experience elevated bar food. Our server Michelle was kind and inviting. She offered us sunglasses to sit outside on the patio and kept tabs on us throughout the night. We tried the truffle Parmesan fries and they were amazing. Perfectly fried, dusted in parm, fresh parsley, with a side of addicting garlic aioli. Our group is apart of the Hilton family so this visit was extra special. Thank you guys!
I went recently to celebrate a friends birthday and could not have had a better experience! We got to watch a beautiful sunset, eat delicious food (the mac & cheese is very impressive) and drink incredible cocktails. & thanks to our server Michelle for taking great care of us! The whole team at the Montford was lovely.

What is there not to love?? We went there for an anniversary dinner, and it was phenomenal. Our server, Brandon, was extremely attentive, and helpful. We started with the Oysters Rockefeller, followed by surf and turf, and the scallops with skirt steak and crab risotto. Brandon brought us out a large piece of bread pudding with butter pecan ice cream. Contrary to other reviews the seafood was wonderfully seasoned. The steak was cooked perfectly and everything tasted amazing! We will most definitely be going back again without hesitation.
Went here their first night back after the hurricane. Menu was limited and that was just fine. Service was great! Food was tasty. I had a cup of lobster bisque, the maple bacon wrapped scallops and a lobster roll. They were supposed to have fresh lobster and shrimp but the truck was unable to make it. No worries, this is a fine Asheville restaurant and we were glad to show them some support through these hard times. Good job Lobster Trap!
This is a cool little spot. My girlfriend and II really enjoyed the atmosphere here. This evening, there was live music which really made our outing feel more like a date. We both had a dozen of the house oysters, which were really fresh and tasty. Our server was friendly and recommended some really tasty meal options. The only thing we didn't really care for was the Lobster Mac & Cheese bit everything else was delicious.

This was my first place I chose to have dinner while visiting Asheville. And let me tell you, I made the perfect decision!!! Ari (behind the bar) was absolutely AMAZING and had the best recommendations for food. She’s hilarious and personable, just fantastic service all around. Truly made me feel very welcome and comfortable. I had the chefs special snack which was a savory bread pudding and crispy Brussels sprouts (which were the best Brussels I’ve ever had!). Food was phenomenal of course. I am leaving a very happy girl. Thank you Blackbird for making my first night in town a memorable one! I will certainly be returning
Decent experience but I expected more for the money. Execution was not great on some dishes, like mussels with creamy sauce mixed with mustard. The other dishes were missing a little something. Most dishes were ok and nothing special. Little twists they tried failed on execution.
Really fresh tasting. I am a celiac vegetarian and found a number of options available. The green tomato gazpacho was really good and the goat cheese corn pie was also fresh and great tasting. Would definitely recommend this is you have either gluten free or vegetarian needs. The meat eater with us had the slow cooked brisket and said it was the bomb.

We had a great time at Table. The staff was attentive and kind. The oysters were perfect. Sometimes oysters aren’t cleaned properly but these were and the taste was spot on with the mignonette. They had wonderful recommendations like the dark chocolate sorbet which was fantastic and made in house. Quiet place for a casual dining experience.
We stumbled upon Table in Asheville after being denied at another restaurant down the street. Table was able to seat us immediately even with out a reservation on a Saturday at 730, truly a miracle. The host was so personable and provided a warm welcome like talking to a friend. Our waiter was great and had many amazing recommendations. The food was absolutely divine. The cocktails top tier!! The It a Peach Cocktail is something you do not want to miss! A perfect blend to tingle every taste bud you have! The devil bombs from the bar menu were a burst of flavor you aren't expecting but definitely want more! The bread... probably the best bread, It's warm, soft, fluffy, fresh and absolutely everything you would want in a loaf of bread. DO NOT SKIP THE BREAD! Our entries were the chicken and dumplings and the hanger steak ! The steak was full of flavor perfectly cooked and tender! The dressed fresh greens on the steak and purple potato's were a match made in heaven making each bite a delightful flavor dance in your mouth! The chicken and dumplings were a different take , such a pleasant surprise. The gravy with the moist flawlessly cooked chicken was something to experience on its own!
Loved the unique menu - great location too. All around terrific experience! Cavatelli dish was superb.

My favorite part of this restaurant was the location, the large windows, and the cozy sitting area upstairs. The bathroom needs cleaning and updating. The food on the menu was not the same on line, so we were taking back with what was available. The fries were nothing special. The trout was OK but not worth the price. Our waitress constantly wanted to take our plate away before we were done. I saw her doing the same at another table. They were grabbing the last morsel as she was taking away the plate. She needs to be retrained. I was also disappointed at the cocktail that I received. It didn't have a balanced flavor. My boyfriend's drink was better and had a floating butterfly, which was a nice presentation. For a place that specializes in cocktails, it was very disappointing. Based on other reviews, maybe if we were sitting at the bar, we would get better drinks.
Our party of 7 stopped by for drinks at 7 pm after an early dinner on Friday, 5/17/24. Very cool place! Bar seating, some couch seating, and counter seating along the windows. There’s also an upstairs! We didn’t try the food, so this review is for drinks only. Here’s what I had: - Blue Ridge Blues ($15): Delicious. OMG it was so good. Highly recommend! - Truth or Consequences ($17): Also super good! - Revival Tour ($10): Very heavy on the beets. If you’re not a fan of beets, skip it. Otherwise, very good! I also tried the Blood Orange Espresso Martini—tasty and unique! Great place for upscale drinks! Highly recommend!
Perfect spot for a low key solo outing. I came here on Saturday night in the mood for a good cocktail somewhere new. It's in the heart of downtown, right across from the dueling piano bar and was about a mile from the hotel where I stayed. I found some street parking a block away. Luckily it was relatively warm so I didn't mind the walk over. Sovereign is dark but inviting and was pretty crowded as expected on a Saturday but I sat at the lounge/sofa area right up front and enjoyed my beverage while finishing up my most recent book. They have a bunch of great classic options as well as some creative offerings as well as standard beer and wine picks. I opted for the Now We Dance (tequila, triple sec, coconut milk, rosemary syrup, lime, smoked salt rim) and it did not disappoint. My server was nice and friendly and checked in on my a couple times before I was ready to close out. I was tempted to try the wine port, but I ended up checking out another spot instead. It’s pricey but worth every penny for the experience and flavor! I will definitely come back here though - they have a food menu too and a Sunday brunch that I would love to try next time.

Amazing evening. Had a 7:30 reservation and we were promptly seated. Rhubarb definitely lived up to its reputation. Our waitperson, Carrie was incredible and so were all the other staff. The gnocchi, the hoecake, the short rib, and the pimento cheese hush puppies were all excellent. Last but not least, the blueberry “mess”, what a fun and delicious combination of flavors and textures. Thanks Rhubarb.
This was an exceptional meal that was one of the best in the city. The burata was very rich and paired so well with the peppers and olive oil. The red beans and mushroom dish was layered with so many ingredients, and every one had a unique flavor and texture. The squash was sweet and salty, and the fig was a remarkable bite, but the mushrooms were the star. There were easily 5 different varieties in the dish punctuated with parsley and taragon. Finally, the peach panacota was drizzled with sweet and strong bourbon sauce. The service was personal and attentive. A real outstanding meal.
Wish I took more photos because the place was decorated well inside. Right downtown by shops and hotels. There’s outside seating too. I’d go here for an appetizer and to sit at the bar or outside but not for a meal. It was all a little too salty for my taste. Literally the chicken dish that night was unbearable. No complaints on the appetizers and drinks.

Having celiacs can be a draining experience. I normally dislike going out to eat because there is so much explaining and I can usually see the servers face drain when I tell them gluten-free. Being able to have access to an entire menu was incredible and truly a life changing experience after also being on the sidelines. Everything tasted great my two favorites were the cheddar biscuits and the crab cakes. I'm already counting down the moments until we go again.
Best burger I've ever had, and I don't mean best GF burger, I mean best burger, period. Roast vegetables were great too. Daphne, our server was attentive and service was fast. Mind you, this was post-Helene, and they were slammed, so I would have forgiven slow service but that wasn't the case at all. We would definitely be back!
Postnatal was exceptional in every way. The atmosphere is sophisticated and current and the staff and service were attentive and expert. These pale in comparison to the quality of the food. The friegreen tomatoes were crisp and the greens on top completed the presentation and flavor. The watermelon and radish salad was tart and sweet and balanced. The trout had perfect crisp skin and deep rich flavor that only got better with the bean it sat upon. This was a sensational meal.

Everything was so good! Especially food. We loved brisket mac n cheese. So tasty so yummy. Fried green tomatoes were delicious. Mushroom pizza was little greasy but still was delicious Our server was very friendly. Highly recommended!!
Beautiful building inside and out. Directly next to a great park, near courthouse and police/fire departments. We were there on a Monday so no wait. But the waiting area was good size, if you do have to wait. The bar was very large with a good selection of local beers on draft and nice assortment of alcohol. Lots of seating inside and out. The service was great from our waiter. The male hose could have been a little more friendly, don’t think I saw him smile or really greet in a friendly manner. The menu was substantial and offered a good variety of foods. I had the Bison Skillet Mac. As advertised it tasted like hamburger helper. I liked it a lot and was filling. My wife had the BLT with fried green tomato. She liked but said the tomato was a little small. It should have had two for the size they were and to the ratio of bacon on it. Lots of bacon. Also on Monday’s they have half price bottles of wine. I would recommend, nice atmosphere, good service and good food.
I absolutely hate reviewing great restaurants in a food rich environment. This is a great place, but at this level some items while good weren’t extraordinary. The deviled eggs were very simplistic and lacked any real flavor outside of the egg and mayo. Not bad eggs just no wow. The other appetizers were good with the cheese sticks being the star. The fried green tomatoes had a sweet taste which wasn’t bad but not the flavors I associate with them, again they were good but in this local you want wow. The pizzas were equally good, the crust being the hit. Service on the front end was great attentive but you could tell understaffed and the kitchen was good. The thing that would sell me on this place is the atmosphere, especially on the patio. On a nice day I could see this being the best place to eat in the area. Beautiful shaded and just perfect.

Great dinner from start to finish. Very interesting medley of ingredients. Loved the browned butter scallops. Everything was delicious. Pretty restaurant. Outdoor dining looked great. They have ceiling fans. Excellent service. One of the best flans for dessert.
If I could give this restaurant a 20/10 I would. The food was fantastic. They had a great outdoor spot for us to dine at with our dog (and even brought a bowl of water for her). The portion size was perfect for my husband and I to share an early dinner on the way to Mount Pisgah for camping. I CANNOT THANK THE STAFF ENOUGH FOR GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND TO PROVIDE STELLAR SERVICE. My forgetful self left my entire purse at the table. By the time I realized it was gone, it was the next day and we already drove a few states over. I called immediately when they opened the next day and they said they had my purse. One of their staff members Kate was so friendly and understanding of the whole situation. She went the very next day to the post office and shipped my purse to me so it was there in our mailbox when we got home from our road trip. THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYONE THERE FOR THE AMAZING FOOD, FRIENDLY SERVICE, AND GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND TO RETURN MY PURSE TO ME!
Any place that brings you a glass bottle of water to start a meal off gets a leg up for me in America. The farm to table is definitely noticeable, the ingredients hit hard. This is one of those places that’s all too easy to recommend.

We have been making our way through the restaurants of Asheville and Chestnut came highly recommended. We are huge fans of Corner Kitchen and didn’t realize Chestnut is its sister restaurant, but once I realized it, it only added to the appeal. We went for brunch on a Sunday. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice. It’s cozy and uniquely decorated, but doesn’t come off stuffy. The Bloody Mary was awesome. For an appetizer, we got the pimento tots which were so delicious. They were nicely fried, not too heavy and not an overall “fried” taste. I personally loved the chow chow and arugula with each bite of the tot. For our main courses, we got the shrimp and grits and the chicken and waffles. I can personally same the shrimp and grits were very tasty. The grits were creamy and the sauce was delicious. The portion was just enough. My boyfriend enjoyed his chicken and waffles. It came with 3 small waffles and a nice piece of chicken and he loved it! Our server was very kind and helpful. We were there for our anniversary and they offered a dessert on the house for our celebration, which we declined because we were full. We also took note of the plates and bowls being from East Fork, another Asheville small business which is super cool! Be sure to check them out, as well. Edit: went back for our second trip for a birthday brunch and the food was still delicious! The Benedict du jour was sooo good and creative. The service was slow, but that didn’t take away from our great time.
My love and I came here for a brunch on Sunday at 11 am. It was not busy at all, which was nice. The atmosphere is very nice, quiet, slightly dimmed light. Very comfortable and welcoming. Our waitress was very kind, knowledgeable, and quick. The bloody mary was not very strong but we did order the spicy one and it was quite spicy and delicious. For the food, we had to order the pimento cheese tater tots - they were amazing! So delicious. I didn't need prefer the aioli but my love enjoyed it. The tots seemed to be handmade / hand pressed, battered, and seasoned so incredibly well. YUM! Do yourself a favor and get the pimento cheese tots. I ordered the chicken and waffles and my love ordered shrimp and grits. We both loved our meals! The chicken was moist with a crispy batter. The waffles were soft in the inside but had a nice crispness to them on the outside. I loved the maple syrup drizzled in the sausage gravy. Super good meal, great place. Location is cool too. We found free street parking a block away, down the hill. We will be back. Update: went back for banana bread French toast. Oh my gosh it was so good! So filling. So moist with a crisp exterior. Simply spectacular. Sensational! Side note: We LOVE the fact that they use East Fork pottery for their plates, bowls, and sauce dishes. Love it. Support local. Well done.
What a fantastic meal. Everything from the service to the food was exceptional. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone. I have a gluten allergy and there were plenty of options for me and everything was delicious!

Truly some of the best French food I’ve had outside of France! I feel like good French food is hard to come by down south. Every single thing we had from the wine to the dessert was amazing. The highlight of the meal was probably the escargot which was incredible!!! Our waitress was so sweet and had great recommendations. My friend and I sat upstairs and the ambiance was lovely. This was for sure a 10/10 experience and next time we are in Asheville we will come back!
So good!!!! Every bite seemed to make you sit back and sigh in contentment! We ordered the escargot, cheese fondue, baguette with garlic confit, and the lobster stuffed ravioli. The ravioli was so good, we ordered a second portion! Then we had the banana dessert. It was all amazing! The only thing I would have preferred would have been if the bread would have been toasted. Our server was super helpful and friendly, he helped us pick out wine to go with our meal, and he was helpful and quick with service. It was an amazing date night. And the ambiance hits as soon as you open the door, it smells SO good inside! I wish I lived closer because I would absolutely go again!
Based on Google research we decided to try this restaurant. We just came back from a day on the French Broad River whitewater rafting, and were quite hungry, and wanting something more casual, homie and comfortable at the same time. This hit all the check boxes. The food was great, we had an interesting drink that you don't find at other places that was also marvelous, there was plenty of food we could not finish it all and we wanted to because it was so good. We had a French onion soup and it was spectacular. Probably one of the best we've had. We have a lot of French onion soups it is one of our favorite items. We also had an appetizer of Rracelet cheese fondue. It was so good I had to scrape the last bits out with a spoon. I hope I do not need a laxative in the morning with all the cheese I have eaten. I had all you can eat Parisian muscles and I did not need a second serving. They were delicious, plump and there was more than I could eat. We also had a creme brulee for dessert. A creme brulee is probably my all-time favorite dessert and I consider myself an expert on creme brulee. There are many factors that make a great creme brulee including the proper thickness of the melted sugar on top, the flavor of the cream and most importantly the texture of the cream which has to be exactly right. This creme brulee was perfect I wish I had more room in my stomach for a second or third of these.

The food here is always fresh and quality. The appetizer section could be more. It feels like it’s missing something. Fish, corn bread, or basic overpriced salsa/guac and chips. Lame. Other than that, everything on the menu is great. It’s a good place to come for a special occasion or date. I didn’t love the chicken dish. The salads are all bomb. My family always gets to salmon. Get the banana dessert.
Another very good meal. Tonight, I had the ribs with fries & slaw. The ribs were very tender & flavorful. I loved the shoe-string fries. And Jordan was a great server! I also had the cornbread appetizer. A bit more sweet and tender than a traditional cornbread, but still good.
One of my favorite restaurants! My Caesar salad was perfect! The croutons are soft and sweet. The club is my go-to, (I really should try something else), but dipped in the honey mustard and the garlic dressing makes a delicious sandwich! If I could eat here once a week, I would!
